The OFFICIAL December 2014 - Christmas Magic

Booked a one night stay at POR and got tickets for MVMCP for Dec 19th. We are surprising our boys with the Disney trip before Christmas since we took the year off from taking a big fall trip this year. We have family in the area that we will be visiting as well, so they won't suspect a thing until we drive onto Disney property instead of going to Grammi's house. It's going to be so hard not to say anything to them!!

I am so excited to be going back to WDW in December! I have booked at CBR from 12/17 - 12/23 with the free DDP! I will be giving this to my DD (13) as her surprise Christmas present. She doesn't need any more "stuff" so I would rather spend my money on making a magical memory with her! This by far is the hardest secret I have had to keep from her and I am busting at the seams to tell her but I can't. I will have to take her out of school for 3 days and am afraid to let her teachers know because they might spill the surprise! My dilemma is do I let the school know beforehand or not? If anyone has idea's I would love to hear them.

We too are surprising our kids with a Christmas trip instead of a bunch of stuff they'll forget about after a month. We will be at WL 12/21-12/26. I don't want to tell anyone, including my family, in fear they'll spill the beans to my kids. I'm afraid everyone (my family) will be mad about the lack of notice, though. That aside, I'm super excited!! I've NEVER kept a secret like this and it's killing me!

Just finalized our trip for December! This time it will just be the hubby and I. Leaving Oklahoma and driving to Disney. We'll be in Pop from Dec 8 thru 12th and then moving over to Cabana Beach Bay at Universal Studios for three nights.

We have tickets for MVMCP on Thur, Dec 11. This is our first time to go to WDW during Christmas :)

Does anyone know if the Mine Train will be running during the party? I haven't seen it listed as running, but didn't know how up to date the sites were that I was looking at.

Thanks!

It should be running, it was running at least for MNNSHP with pretty decent wait times; 40 minutes and under as the night went on!

Congrats.

Looks like we'll be at the same party. If it's a cold night, look for the couple wearing Bruins jerseys. If it's warm, we'll be in Patriots gear.

And you'll love Disney at Christmas. Not just the MVMCP, but the whole thing. Don't forget to get the Christmas themed popcorn bucket.

We are booked at POR 12/13-12/20....cannot wait. We've never stayed at POR before and the kids have never been during the Christmas holiday. We are doing the MVMCP on 12/19 our last night :( but don't want to buy those tickets until our trip is completely paid off.:yay:

We will be at POR 12/21-1/2! Super excited about this trip. We were there for Christmas a few years back and loved it, but I was lucky enough to get free dining then. This year DH said if for some crazy reason I can get free dining we could go over Christmas again. Well....I did!! I cant wait to spend 2 weeks at our favorite resort and our favorite place in the world! I might be more excited than the kids. :dance3: I got every ADR I wanted, including Christmas morning breakfast in the castle and dinner at BOG! 86 days until we are back to WDW! :yay:

So we're for sure going. Flights booked and paid for. We're waiting to book our MVMCP tickets as SIL may or may not come and we can't get refunded if she doesn't come (we're hoping to go on 12/19 for our last night).

We didn't get any ADR at all as the one I really wanted we have no hope of getting - Cinderella's Castle breakfast.

We're flying by the seat of our pants for this trip - none of us have been to any Disney property in over 10 years and not to Disneyworld in 20+ years (and I've never been at all)

I'm not worried about missing anything as I have no idea what we would miss as we're sort of clueless but I am abnormally worried about what clothing to pack for 2 weeks in FL(1 week at Disney and 1 week at MIL's new home). We're from Canada but in a relatively mild area.

As for what clothing to pack, do like the rest of us and wait for the forecast closer to the time of your trip. ;)

First wk of December fastpasses - so, who has booked already? We check in on 11/30 so my window opens tomorrow night. For those checking in on 11/29 I'm wondering how things look? I'm especially worried about our MK days on 12/1 and 12/3. Hoping and praying for A&E and Mine train. :)

I booked our fastpasses on sunday for the first week of Dec and didn't have any problems getting 7DMT for our two MK days. There were A&E FPs too, but I didn't get one of those since we aren't that interested. Hopefully it wouldn't have changed that much in two days. Good luck!

I booked last night and I don't think you will have any problem. There were definitely A&E on 12/1, but I don't know about 12/3 just because I didn't look for that day. I booked A&E for 12/5 no problem and also SDMT for 11/29 no problem. Good luck!!

Just realized I never subscribed to this thread! DBF and I are going December 21-January 1st, staying at Caribbean Beach Resort! It's my 9th visit and his second, with his first trip being over 22 years ago! Can't wait to see WDW all decked out for Christmas again. Last time I went over the holiday season was 2012, but this is the first time I'll actually be there for Christmas Day! :goodvibes:banana:

Just two months after spending a week in Disney I just booked another week December 13-21 for this year!

That's the week we went last year and it was fabulous!:)

Only 66 days to go. It doesn't feel like such a far off "will never get here" idea now!!!
I think I've talked myself into doing MVMCP again this year. Now to talk my husband into it.::yes::

Hey all, I need some advice. I know that I saw somewhere on one of the threads a link to renting wheelchairs (not from Disney). I need to rent one for the time that we are there. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Well, I got everything I wanted except A&E. I'll keep checking for cancellations but our back up plan is to try and make it to the line early since we have an 8:05 ressie at CP one morning. If that doesn't work then DD is out of luck because I'm not spending half my day waiting for a meet and greet!

Overall I consider my FP+ selection a success!

Anyone else book last night? How did you do?

I book tonight, we are staying from the 1st to the 8th (the 7th is our last park day) really hoping we can get A&E as we went down in Sept and were not able to get them!
