The Official Clay Aiken Discussion Thread

Ella was born yesterday right around noon and weighed 6lbs 9oz and was 18 inches long! I've seen a picture of her, but I won't be posting it since I don't want my sister to get weirded out by having her DD's picture on a message board...lol

Thanks for the congrats! She's super cute and looks like her mommy!

I think we all understand about the photo and won't take it personally.

Well, everyone except me. And I only take it personally because I know she's just got something against us Clay fans.

But boy!! She's a little peanut considering how late she was!! Momma must've not eaten enough turkey last week!!! :teeth:

EDIT: I don't know why I thought she was super late...it wasn't even a week!! Well, whatever. Ignore me. I've got a date with Clay in 79 hours, I have no idea what's going on around here.

Enjoy her, Brandie!! When will you get to visit?

Congrats, Auntie Brandie! :)

*sigh* Anyone want to come into NYC tonight for Clay's show? I have a friend that backed out on me at the last minute.

WANT TO???

Um, HI!!! :wave2: I'd want to.

Unfortunately, I can't because my eyes are broken and I'm forbidden to do anything today if I want to go tomorrow (WHICH I DO). :guilty:

Are you still gonna go?? I hope so!! You can rustle up someone else, can't you???

By the way, guys -

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!

Clay will be on the Early Show THIS MONDAY, December 5th. (Sidenote: The Early Show sometimes is funny and says he's going to be on but then it ends up being taped for another time. So I'd watch/tape in case, but don't kick me in the face if it's not!!)

AND

He'll be on the special Fox "Dear Santa" Special NEXT Friday, December 9th.

I've got a whole week of Clay to look forward to!! First NYC on Saturday, then tv on Monday and Friday and capping it off with our date in CT NEXT Saturday!!

:cheer2:

(Now if only my eyes would get better....)

Too bad i'm not closer to NYC Gail!! I'd be there in a heartbeat!!!!

I won't get to see Ella until Christmas...:(

:wave2: Hi Mickeyfan!!

You're going to LOVE the show...well, maybe you'll just LOVE the MAN!!

He sounded amazing in NYC, and I can't wait to see him again on Saturday. Yes, this time from the front row. Where he will have to dodge my lazer eyes of love all evening long. :lovestruc

(Assuming, of course, my eyes improve before then, cause they're still not fixed, and Dr. Fruit Loop seems to be guessing about the problem at this point. Which is slightly worrisome.)

And yep, that's Clay and me!! And LUCKY doesn't even begin to describe it. :cloud9:

HEY GUYS!! BY THE WAY....REMINDER:

Clay will be on Fox's Dear Santa show on Friday, December 9th. (Henceforth known as Claydate Eve.)

He will also appear on Good Morning America that same morning (THIS FRIDAY). It has already been taped, so don't waste your time, energy, and body warmth going down there.

well I already love him but I'm probably not quite as obsessed as you are... although I think I would be if I weren't old enough to be his Mom :teeth: and too busy with family, job and life in general to follow him as often as I would like

as for your eyes ... I'm a tad confused... I didn't read back on this thread .. so I can only guess that you have some eye problem and you got yourself a quack for a doctor ;)

so you're saying you already saw this show.... what does he sing? Give me details.... somehow I don't think you'll mind putting in the time to tell me about it!! :teeth:

and thanks for the heads up on Friday's Clay showings .... I would have missed them!! :goodvibes

I did catch Clay on the Early Show Monday morning...the only Clay-Christmas I get is via TV! Thanks for the heads up Kylene...i'll set the DVR!

Does anyone know if Clay has his own Christmas show again this year or not?

We are supposed to be at Friday's concert, but I just heard... snow ALL day.... we may not be able to make it, if that's the case :( I'm pretty disappointed to say the least :(

OMG, I'm sooo excited right now!! Just for curiosity sake, I went to a broker site (I know, I know, brokers = bad). But, I got 4th row center tickets for Clay's concert in Camden for $50 per ticket. Considering that Ticketmaster was selling them for $65 per ticket, I'm shocked that a broker site is selling them for under cost. Although I'm paying through the nose for FedEx 2nd day delivery (the concert is on Sunday), I'm jumping for joy over this.

So, now I have 2 extra tickets for the Camden show. If anyone wants/needs tickets to Clay's Camden show (or know someone that does), please PM me. The tickets are free, so just let me know if you want/need them.

Woohoo! 3 days, and then I get to see Clay from the 4th row!!

Unfortunately, I didn't win the meet-and-greet in Camden, but hopefully there will be another tour next summer and another chance to win.

Congratulations to any DISer that did win!!

Kylene, any pictures yet? I'm leaving in about 3 hours for the Camden show (we're going to dinner first), and I want to know what I'm in for. I can't wait!!

Oh. My. God.

The Camden concert was last night, and it was absolutely amazing. I won't go in to full details for those of you that haven't yet seen the show, but the show was absolutely amazing.

I was lucky enough to get 4th row center seats just 3 days prior to the show. I am now officially spoiled, and I'll have a hard time sitting anywhere else now. Because of the no flash rule, I couldn't get any good pictures (I have a lousy camera), but I'm not too upset about that.

The seat directly in front of me was empty, so I had a perfectly clear view of Clay. About halfway through the first half of the show, Clay noticed me, and made eye contact with me. The eye contact lasted about 5 seconds, but it felt like forever. Talk about amazing. For the life of me, I can't remember what song he was singing, since I was in such a Clay daze by that point. That, for me, was the highlight of the night.

After the show, William Joseph (Clay's opening act and piano player during the show) was in the lobby of the Tweeter Center signing autographs. So, I asked him to sign my tour program and I had my picture taken with him. There was a huge crowd around him, so as he was signing my tour program, I jokingly asked him if he was used to having so many women around him. His response was, "No, but I can get used to it really fast." He's a really sweet guy to talk to, and extremely talented.

Because I had such a great bus experience after last year's JNT (after waiting an hour, Clay came out and shook everyone's hand, including mine), we decided to head to the busses after the show. There were no barracades up, so all of we Claymates (there were about 50 of us) decided he wouldn't come out; it would be too much of a security issue. We decided to wait to see if at least we'd get a wave from the bus as he was leaving. After 3+ hours (yes, THREE HOURS), we were still waiting. By this time, it was 2:30AM, I was exhausted, frozen (I'm still trying to get feeling back in my toes), and my mom's back was really bothering her (she has a chronic bad back). So, we decided to leave. By this time, the crowd of 50 had dwindled down to about 20. I'm anxious to know what happened to Clay and what took him forever to leave. I'm also curious to know what time he finally left.

Although I was disappointed about the busses, overall the show was phenomenal. Here's to hoping for a summer tour next year!!

I'm not sure if this will work, but let's see....

I'll be back with more details if that works, but my eyes are brokener today than they have been recently, so....this is tough. I'm sorry. :guilty:

Debi,

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, but I see you took matters into your own hands over there!! Good luck getting an answer!! :)

Kylene, no sweat! It looks like I did get an answer, so I'm (somewhat) relieved.

Due to the no flash rule, I only took one picture (I still need to upload it), but I was in such awe of the whole show that I wish I could have taken more. Kylene, do you have any more pics to post?

I'll see what I can muster up. I'm battling with my eyes today (supposed to get a second opinion from a specialist on Thursday), but I should be able to link up the pics....let's see....

Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up, let's go!! (If you saw the show already, did you not love him during that medley with Jingle Bells and Sleigh Ride?)

Not a bad view, eh?

This is from Season of Romance/Christmas Serenade, and it's one of my favorites. It's right from the line "It'll get you, if you give it half a chance." He looks so tough!! (PS - Debi, my eye contact came during that tune...needless to say, it's my new favorite.) :lovestruc

I can almost hear his dulcet tones....*sigh*

Whatever you're asking me to do, Mr. Aiken, the answer is yes. :love2:

How's that for a taste? I do have some more, but they're all very similar, since the sets don't change too much, and he's only in the two outfits. Lemme know if y'ar thirstay fer more.
