Since I'm old and boring (which I have recently come to terms with ) and the DFI didn't visit this weekend I watched the Clay show all 3 times. LOL! I'M SO SAD!!! I liked it except for the end. Did the rollercoaster/ice skating thing seem hokey to anyone else? Can you say filler??? I was a fun show though. I liked it a lot.

I actually missed the VH1 show this weekend.

Hopefully, it'll air this evening or sometime tomorrow...I need a reminder system at home for this stuff.

I have to admit, I haven't read all 45 pages of this thread, sorry. I like Clay also and have considered buying his CD - I guess you'd recommend it

I'm scared that a lot of you are going to lose it if I say this, but... Clay just reminds me of a young Barry Manilow. In a good way...like he's an outstanding vocalist with such a powerful voice, great taste in music & good tunes and an all-around good & humble guy. Does anyone else see the comparison or have I lost it?

I have no problem with the Barry comparison. I think that Clays voice is much better, he has a more "contemporary" look. I think one thing that is the same between the two is their songs have lyrics that appeal to a large demographic group.

I can't recommend Clays CD enough. Its one of the few CD's that I love every song!!!

Uh...YUP!! LOL LOTS of Manilow fans have seen the same thing. Doesn't help that they both seem to have the same hairstyle, wardrobe, and even some mannerisms are the same. Their sense of humor is similar; both are very self-depracating and humble (for the most part ) Both of their biological fathers left when they were young; they were raised by wonderful stepfathers. Sometimes the similarities are downright SCARY! I love 'em both.

I so agree. The only thing I watched was the horrible half time show. Please next year have some people with talent like Clay and Josh.

so, did anyone see the "clay aiken" guy on AI last night? when they first started showing him, he kind of resembled Clay...but once he was doing his audition, he looked nothing like him! he had a good voice, but wasn't quite Clay Aiken quality to me. and he had zero personality as compared to Clay!

I think he sounded pretty similar - time will tell if his personality comes through or not.

I was grateful that last night they finally focused a little more on the people who COULD sing - all that screeching, howling, and singing off-key notes was getting on my nerves!

Interesting tidbit!! Justin and Janet have been pulled from their appearances at the Grammys as per CBS!!!!

Edited to say that CBS is probably going to let them perform as of now.

Also Clay is supposed to be on Regis and Kelly this Monday. Confirmation to follow.
