Bummer, that's a Tuesday night. No way can I make it on a Tuesday night, since I teach full time and need to be to school on Wednesday. Clay, please play in Southern NJ (Atlantic City)?

Not sure if there are LA area fans (Christa, you're farther up, aren't you?) but here's something they'll be interested in if they're lurking.... ;)

Shoot...edited to add the fact that this is going to take place at the Virgin Store in LA...yeah, that'd be helpful....

September 18, 11pm
Clay Aiken CD Release Party
Buy Clay's new album "A Thousand Different Ways" at midnite, and recieve a wristband to come back to meet Clay on September 26. (*1 wristband per CD, 2 wristbands per person limit, while supplies last.)

September 26, 2pm
Meet Clay Aiken
Purchase your copy of "A Thousand Different Ways" starting September 19, and receive a wristband to come back and have it signed by Clay on the 26th. (1 wristband per CD, 2 wristbands per person limit, while supplies last)

Two things:

a) Last minute notice, but supposedly Clay will be on the Jimmy Kimmel special TONIGHT at 10 PM. (And I'm having issues because Project Runway is on at the same time. Boo.)

And, more importantly,

b) NEW TOUR DATES have been added to the fan club site. It may or may not be the complete list....which may or may not be good, depending on where we all are. Hint: For me, in CT, it looks like I'm definitely truckin' it to NJ.

Sometimes we find out the last second, and then I post like 26 posts in a row trying to get someone else's attention so they can get tickets too, lol. And then, maybe, we'll send each other 89 PMs until our boxes fill up and we have to stop.

Maybe. But it's darn worth it, right Debi and Cookie?! :thumbsup2

::yes:: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Clay wasn't listed in the opening credits of the Jimmy Kimmel thing...I have a feeling they're going to show a clip of the show he was on, though.

Yeah, probably the clip of him and Jimmy "fighting". Which means I'll watch Project Runway and flip back and forth instead. :happytv:

Gotta love it - "You mean when you said I looked like Barry Manilow & Pee Wee Herman had a child?" :rotfl:

*runs in*

*BREATHES*

Hey...sorry guys...just had to run in and catch my breath. The Claymates are attacking me at the Clayboard because I had the NERVE to say I really liked Justin Timberlake's album. WHOOOOOA!!

Me?!?! Of all people, you're going to question MY devotion to Clay just cause I also like Justin?!?

Yikes.

I had to come back here where people are normal. :grouphug:

Yep...I avoid those other Clay boards like the plague! Some of those people are just psycho!! I like our little thread. We're not nearly as psycho as the others can be!!

Kylene...I haven't heard the CD yet, but I do love that Sexy Back song! I've had a thing for it since they used it on So You Think You Can Dance this last season! I'll have to download it to my iPod to take a listen...:)

Kylene, that's why I stay away from the Clayboard and other Clay sites. The people there are just plain scary!!

Yeah, I normally stay out of threads because the Claymates are rabid. I really do think that they hurt Clay for all they try to help because it just gives them a reputation that translates to how other people and the media react to Clay.

Anyway, the only reason I go over there is for the breaking news, like appearances and tour dates. And then I come here to tell you guys. :thumbsup2

But YESTERDAY, they started up a thread about JT's album selling 700K and how "we" would have our work cut out for us when Clay's drops. That was fine, until they got on their high horses and started disrespecting Justin's talent and album. They also told everyone who might consider buying Justin's cd to wait a couple weeks until after Clay came out so he'd have a better chance at beating his numbers. So I just went in, posted that I bought it and loved it, but that I'd also buy Clay's on Day 1. It's just so laughable because I love Clay, but Justin's cd is one of the most anticipated of the year, they're promoting the heck out of it, and *shock* it's actually REALLY good! And it's fresh stuff...unfortunately, as much as I enjoy hearing Clay do a mellow album of love song covers, mainstream music isn't as impressed with that...unless you're Barry, Cookie. :goodvibes

So anyway, that was the deal. Brandie, I love the album. I'd definitely recommend it, especially this week when it's $9.99 at Target and Best Buy and everywhere. :thumbsup2

Cookie, Debi, and anyone else going to the show at Red Bank, NJ....

There's an interactive seat map you can check for a better idea of where your seat is, supposed views from the seats (although they don't have them up for mine) and a review of your seat. You can also see what tickets are still available. You get it through the Count Basie website as if you were purchasing tickets....this should be the link, but it may not work:

http://www.seatadvisor.com/cgi/make_x.pl?venue_code=1067&layout_code=29&ga_event=0&info_type=map&lsid=19299&event_id=45174&login=countbasie,countbasie2,countbasie3

Very cool, Kylene! Thanks for the link! Unfortunately, there are no photos available for my seats, but it is rated as 5 stars. Hooray! According to that website, our seats are 33 feet from the stage. :)

WE'RE normal??? :earseek: ;)

Funny, you can interchange Barry's name with Clay's...the story is pretty much the same.

Thanks for the head's up about Leno - I totally forgot.

You really do just have to love him...I hadn't realized how much I'd missed seeing him and that it's really been like nine months since he's been out and about for the fans. Good to have you back, Clay!!

Also, FYI:

I'm not adding this to the calendar because my head hurts way too much to do the update right now (I'm having a Thygeson's flare up, so I've got the headache and blurred vision...blah), but keep in mind:

Good Morning America:
Tuesday (19th) - Performance
Wednesday (20th) - Interview (Part I)
Thursday (21st) - Interview (Part 2)
Saturday (24th) - Performance and Interview

The View:
Friday (22nd)

Entertainment Tonight:
Monday - Friday (18-22)

Announcement:

Ok, I'm coming to terms with the hair.

I don't mind it. Now. Cause it's a little shorter. It doesn't look sloppy anymore, cause it's shorter. I still prefer the spikes, but I can deal with this. Cause it's shorter.

Ok. That's all.

Did anyone else see GMA? Or am I the only one up this early? Or maybe you're all out getting the album.... :confused3
