*** The Official August 2018 Thread*** - let's have some fun....

I'm still debating things, ha! After watching the Tim Tracker's review, I was thinking of adding in the H2O Glow at Typhoon Lagoon, but decided against it since I'm on my own with them, one can swim great but the other ok and I'd want a lifejacket, and I'm unfamiliar with the layout (this goes to being alone with them plus it being dark for a lot of the time). I'm also debating canceling our dessert party during MNSSHP and maybe adding in a Sanaa lunch with an animal specialist. I'm definitely going to add an evening of mini-golf at winter summerland - the kids will probably think that is the best part, snort!

Tim Tracker is the reason we added 2 nights at Boardwalk at the start of our trip!

So, costume updates for our Mr and Mrs Banks and Michael Banks:
My costume: I have the sash, yellow necklace, blue romper (I am certainly NOT wearing a long dress in Florida in August!). I have a straw hat on order. Still need: yellow bracelets and belt.

DH costume: Hat, fake mustache and tie on order. Still need: red carnation, white short sleeved shirt, kite.

DS costume: I have: dress shorts, sandals. Hat, blue bow tie, white short sleeved shirt and chimney sweep broom on order. Still need: black makeup.

I am crossing everything I have that the stuff on order gets here in time. The three hats, broom and mustache are coming from somewhere I have never ordered from before so I am nervous about those, the rest are all from Amazon so I know those are okay.

So I'm contemplating changing our Akershus reservation on our Epcot day. I'm really concerned whether my kids are going to enjoy the menu especially for the price and they really won't care about seeing the princesses. But I have no clue where to choose. I want to stay in the area so we can come back for Illuminations at 9p. Any suggestions I will gladly take.

Still watching for a flight out prices haven't really moved.

And need to finish picking out our matching tshirts for our park days.

So much to do but 20 days to go!

I'm a big fan of Cape May Cafe; which also might provide a relaxing respite from the park! Its in the Beach Club maybe a ten minute walk from the World Show Case.

My family likes the San Angel Inn in Mexico; Teppan Edo in Japan. Their favorite is Coral Reef, they love watching the fish while we eat. We did our at Akershus, but it was breakfast. I don't think my youngest would have enjoyed lunch or dinner there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I had a bad experience with Coral Reef the 1st time I went alone unfortunately the food took forever and was super hot but bland when it came out go figure. Atmosphere was very nice though. I'll take a look at the others though.

I do love Cape May the bus always take forever but maybe walking would work better.

This is our plan for our Epcot day. We have never tried the walk but it has to be better than walking all the way to the front then waiting for a bus!

So I looked at what options were available for reservations and they had a Kona Cafe Reservation for the same time as our Akershus as well as a Cape May for a little later. I asked my daughter which she preferred (she went to both for her Birthday Trip) and she said Kona Cafe I checked and they have some options for the boys. So decision made who am I to pass up a Lapu Lapu pixiedust:

Love Kona! I was going to suggest Teppan Edo as well-dinner and a show and a spot to watch Illuminations if you time it right.

I was Leaning to Teppan Edo but it's a no go on the kids entrees and the reservation available was really late. I'm happy there was a Kona reservation available at the same time.

So the trip is in a week and I am seeing some 6 and 7 crowd levels on touring plans. I know to take those at a grain of salt, but how are crowd level 7s? I am all fast passed up so I'm not stressing. I think I've mostly done 6 crowds

Honestly, Disney always seems busy to me anymore. If you have a good plan and fastpasses, you will be fine. Some of our best days ever were 8s and 9s - even though they were predictes 6s. I still read the crowd calendars but do not put much stock in them myself.

Side note: Magicbands arrived today!!! I am so excited to be one step closer.

For what it's worth, per Touring Plans, the actual crowd levels have been coming in under the predicted level for most days this month. I'm hoping that continues through next month.

Looks like I’ll be just missing you all week but we will also be at MK on 8/19. If I see your LGMH on your Nemo backpack, I’ll be sure to wave!

We have some overlap with your trip for dates, but only one park overlap. Our plans are:
8/15 - check in at Grand Floridian then headed to MK - it's open to 1a!!
8/16 - MK AM/Epcot PM
8/17 - Pool Day/MNSSHP
8/18 - AK/Adult Night (my hubby and my twin nephews are leaving the pack to have some fun, no plans yet)
8/19 - HS/MK
8/20 - Pool Day/Disney Springs
8/21 - MK/Epcot
8/22 - Check out

Magic bands arrived yesterday - yay!! My older DD slept over at my parents' last night, so I ran around her room grabbing all her Disney gear so I can pack it without her knowing. Surprises are tough! lol
