***The Official April 2016 Thread!***

Yes! It will be our family's first time doing it. I think my boys (10 and turning 3) will love it. My little guy loves Captain Hook and Peter Pan. pirate:

AWESOME!!! Very cool, it will prob be an amazing experience for them (and you). I would love to do the fireworks cruise, its two of my favorite things!! This is only my family's second Disney vacation, so much to see and do its impossible to do it all, but that just gives us a reason to go back again.. and again ;) That will def be on our to-do next time were planning :) I cant wait to hear about it after your vacation!!

So excited that I was able to make a Pirates and Pals reservation this morning for April 23! :woohoo: I cannot wait for this!
How wonderful! We did it a couple of years ago and loved it. It was so much fun and a wonderful way to see the fireworks away from the crowds.

This is our second Disney vacation as well! (Although, oldest DS and I had been in 2012.) Last time we went it was November 2014, so we were busy seeing the Osbourne Lights and attending MVMCP. This time around we are doing the waterparks and Pirates and Pals. You are right in that there is never enough time to do everything, but it adds to our next trip!

Awww. Glad you enjoyed it. Pirates and Pals seems to get great reviews. I thought it would be a wonderful birthday gift for my son.

I'm attempting Southwest tickets tomorrow, also!!! Where are you flying out of??

Do you think with our dates, it's important to be on right the moment they are released!?

Sorry it took so long to respond. We are flying out of Albany. Southwest has us over a barrel and they know it. I purchased as quickly as I could when the schedule was released and the price went up twice in that 5 minutes.

Oh Yay! I booked my dining today! My best friend and I are coming home April 23-30! It's a kid free girls only grown up trip for our 40th birthdays! Port Orleans Royal Rooms...:D Dining is as follows

We have also booked DS's 1st haircut at the Barber Shop on Main Street for after breakfast that day!!!!

I have to wait a couple of days before I can book our other reservations because our 180 days isn't here yet for the Post cruise Disney portion. I will be looking to book Boma and Sanaa. :)

I'm excited to start our countdown! Our dates are April 6-13, 2016. We are considering PC because we will likely need 3 rooms but I tend to change my mind until the last possible moment. I see a lot of northern neighbors will be there at the same time. We also live about 20 minutes from Bradley and we'll be flying. My freshman will be singing with his school chorus at some point during our trip. We decided rather than send just him, we'd all go!

Just made my ADRs! Which is the most I've done for this trip so far...lol.

Subject to change but:

4/16 - Chef Mickey’s 7:50 pm

4/17 - Arkershus 3:00 pm

4/18 - Be Our Guest 1:20 pm

4/19 - Tusker House 8:10 am

4/20 - Tokyo Dining 3:20 pm

:wave2:Hello Everyone!
I am new to the forum, planning a trip for 4/12-4/23 with my boyfriend for the Star Wars Dark Side Challenge. We will be traveling all the way from Portland Oregon! I am planning to book CBR or AKL. This will be my 2nd trip (1st was in 2007) and my BF's 1st trip to ANY Disney park. I'm big on planning so any tips or suggestions are always welcome. Thanks

I had to do a search really quickly to see if anyone else was visiting during (and participating in) the Star Wars Dark Side races! So yay! Glad I found your post! First of all, good luck in your races! I bet it's going to be really fun weekend. :) Have you done RunDisney before? My husband and I are new to RunDisney, and this will be our first race. We're participating in the 10K, and I seriously am so excited.

Second of all, the only tip/suggestion I can think of is kick back, relax, and do what makes you both happy. That may necessary not be the popular stuff that the tour books/websites/blogs tell you is the "thing to do". If you can't get on a ride or see a particular attraction, skip it. Find something else to go play on. My motto at Disney is "go play". That's why it's there - not to be a stress. But to relieve your stress and just be a child for a moment and believe in the goodness that the world can be.

That's my sappy moment for the day. ;) Sorry you had to witness it.

That being said - can't wait to go in April! I've never been in April before, so not sure what to expect in terms of weather. Historical reports look like 80s for the most part. Any April-veterans able to confirm that for me? How is the rain that time that year? (I'm used to August and Jan/Feb visits.)

Acbshada, I'm not an April veteran yet (this year was my first April trip and next year will be my 2nd). But I'd say highs in the 80s were my experience. I thought temps were warm but nice (I'm used to Feb). I got drenched in a deluge one afternoon at AK, and had an Epcot day with a couple of periods of some good rain, but the rest of the week was fine. I don't know what the average precip is, but it wasn't the daily rains I hear about in the summer.

I like your touring philosophy. WDW for me is a place to destress and be a big kid.

For us April Vactioners....when do we request a specific room or location? We are staying in Coronado Springs and have upgraded to a waterview. When do I request which building I want to be in? During online check in, or earlier?

It's been a bit since I went in April so my memory's a bit fuzzy but it's usually hot but not really all that humid yet so it's comfortable!

I've been in April twice now, and both times it was beautiful weather. Warm to hot, perfect for swimming and not overly humid. We had a couple of showers to downright rain but nothing that held us back from our plans. It is really a wonderful time of year to go!

Did you book online or over the phone? I call to book and make any requests then. I don't know what the online check in requests are for CSR, but if your requests are options there, I'd just do it then. If your requests aren't covered by the online check boxes, I'd call whenever it's convenient and make them with a phone CM.

I actually just came into this thread right now to Happy Dance that I customized my Magic Band today! Goin' green next year!

This sounds absolutely perfect to me! Thank you to you both! Totally cannot wait for this trip. :D
