***The Official April 2016 Thread!***

It's been pretty quiet here lately, what's every one been up to? Holiday chaos here, hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving!
I have a question for those of you with younger kids (mine are 4, 8, and 10) I have the DDP but I am now debating on whether or not it's worth it, we loved it last time, but my daughter was free (and pretty much has the same eating habits as when she was 2) and my oldest was on the kids plan and now is considered adult so not sure if either would work out in our favor or not.. Im leaning towards a NO WAY, but wanted to see if anyone has had any similar experiences and/or any input on the situation. I recently read that Disney is being more lenient now and offering dessert substitutions for a soup or salad, and a quick serve can be traded for I believe 3 snacks, but nothing with a TS dinners.. anyone know how one would get rid of extra TS credits if I had them at the end oh my vaca?
Thanks a bunch!!

Oh, and a big :welcome: to the newbies in the group!!

Hi! It has been a very busy time with the holidays. And I have been going through Disney depression worse than ever because November of last year we were in Disney. April still seems far away!
I would have had the same dilemma for the DDP but we are staying off property so it is a non issue now. Last trip to Disney we had free dining and this would be our first trip my oldest son would be a Disney adult. (He turns 10 in January.) But if we had stayed on property I would have paid out of pocket because he would want to eat off the kids menu anyway and his 2 year old brother eats more than him. Instead I am buying gift cards ahead of time for meals so it is kinda like pre-paying. Not sure about the trading credits.

I got my Keen Whispers today! Practically half price on Amazon in the color I wanted ("Dark Shadow/Ceramic"). Wearing them right now. I need to break them in/get used to them, but maybe I'll be prepared for the April downpours next year.

Still waiting for Skipper Canteen ADRs...

I would definitely consider this move. It is just so much food. We did this last year and the tips we spent seemed to equate to a whole dinner at a quick service restaurant.

Sorry this is what I was referring to above.

Our plans have had to change...unfortunately it will now just be me and my DS (aged 5), rather than my mom and younger sisters joining us. Fortunately, that means a couple of pretty awesome things...we got to extend our trip by a couple of days...April 9-17, and we rebooked and are staying at POR French Quarter, which size wise will be a little more manageable. Plus, my best friend just accepted a professional internship with Disney and will be starting next month and is moving (right now we work together so it's going to be a big adjustment not seeing him almost everyday), but he'll be able to take a couple of days and join us at our resort and in the parks.

Has anyone gotten any paperwork regarding their April trip? I haven't gotten anything yet, which I know it's still over four months away but I booked over the summer so I figured I would have gotten something by now at least. I remember last time I went, I got a magnet that had all important dates on it (like for+ date and when final payment was due... Even to make ADRs I believe) but so far this time- nothing.

Should I be concerned?

Funny I haven't either...I booked a long time ago as well. I forget how far out I received my magnet and paperwork last time though.

I booked in September and got our info in the mail in October.

What info have you gotten? The magnet isn't necessary for me really, and I know magic ands won't come until a month before, but what about the Magical express stuff and my package info(like the coupons and luggage tags). Have you gotten any of that stuff? Wonder if I should call the, about it.

I just got my incredibles packet with my card giving dates to make ADRs and FP+ and such. Luggage tags and Magical express stuff typically doesn't arrive until approximately a month or so before the trip, I believe.

Woo hoo! Just went on UT and bought my 7-Day Park Hopper for April! Every little step makes it seem more real!

My next big goal is plane tickets. Hoping Delta comes down a little after the first of the year when I'm ready to commit. I know what flights I want and have my target price in mind; I just need to be patient.

3 months and 3 weeks according to my ticker. Look at that Cricket fly! :cheer2:

Excited to take our newly adopted twin teen girls on their first WDW trip! We are booked for 4/1-4/10 at POR, with 7 day base tickets. ADR at Crystal Palace for early morning breakfast on 4/2. Our girls are picky eaters and do better at food courts than sit down restaurants.

I think I got all planned and ready too soon... The rental house is booked and paid for, plane tickets bought, park tickets bought, all ADRs made and reservations for the Pirates and Pals cruise. Now FP+ time seems so far away, with nothing else to plan. Not that I am complaining... And very excited to be down to only 123 days, today! Yay!

:welcome: to all the new people in this group! Hope every one has a wonderful holiday!

I thought I had our April trip all planned and set. It was going to be my ds(7) and me, a simple Mommy and Son trip. Then my RA started to get worse and I have developed some issues with the tendons in my ankle and feet :crutches:, so I will be renting and ECV. When my dd(18) heard about that she "volunteered" (jumped with joy) to come along and "help" with her brother, he has ASD, ADHD, and SPD. it also just so happens our last park day is also her birthday. I called my travel agent and had her added and made our dining plans. Well last week we had our Spring Drill Team Parent Meeting - Guess where the team is going in April, Orlando to the Gaylord Palms. My middle son (15) who was ok not going is super excited. His trip is the beginning weekend of our trip. We will go to see his competition and on Sunday when his team returns home, we will pick him up and he will spend the week with us now. I called my travel agent and had him added, went to Disney dining and was able to get him added to all of our ADRs with only having to move one to a different day. :love1:

My peaceful Mother-Son trip is now all but one of my kids (20 - who doesn't like Disney). I can't wait :flower1:

My ticket from UT came yesterday! I can't believe it came so fast! I just ordered on Saturday. It is safely in my Disney trip file folder in my desk. I did not take it out of the plastic but scrunched it around enough to see that I have Donald. I'll get it linked to my MDE this weekend.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!
