***The Official AKV Owners And Lovers Thread***. Come And Chat

I will miss the small dining table in the studio most of all. It's a shame they are removing them from the rooms. I guess the rooms get too crowded with the dining table and murphy bed down.
Oh gosh are they for sure taking them out? They didn't have to at the Poly or GF. Not having a table is such a game changer for me. I would rather no fifth sleeper (partly because we are an old couple who likes drawers and tables lol).
I have kind of stayed away of looking at the remodel because ignorance is bliss :). Just hoping it all works out.

The trend has been to remove them in refurbishments. I don't think they kept them in any recent refurbishment. I hope they don't add a fifth sleeper to AKV and we lose the dresser. The VGF deluxe studios for example have basically no dresser/drawer space.

I am so glad I got a chance to stay at Kidani with the Simba carved dressers and the hoofed legs. I know a lot of people Ike the lighter colors, but I agree with the other posters that it looks like catalog furniture and it takes away from the themes of each individual resort when they all start to look the same!
Yeah, this kind of made me a little sad. I find that I'll spend more time in a well-themed room - possibly to soak up as much magic before it's checkout time. Pulling us out of the room more and into spaces to spend more money might be the idea, though.

We need tables. When we stay in the hotel side, we love sitting at the mini tables to eat a quick meal before bouncing off somewhere for the day. Are the rooms big enough to include a built-in nook table/bench setup like at the poly tower?

Im definitely glad to finally be getting rid of the sofa beds but itll be such a shame if the furniture is not themed at all. I swear if it looks like a room you’d see at Boardwalk itll be such a huge disappointment.

Wasn't the plan to start on Kidani before Jambo?
Yes, I just booked Jambo for 5/27-6/3/26 and totally missed the message that Jambo will be undergoing refurbishment from May 2026-Jan 2027. And now am rethinking our booking but only other options are Saratoga or OKW. Because we're rationing points for a bounceback in Sep 26. First world problems. :(

Jambo - From May 2026 through January 2027, Guest rooms at Jambo House at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. Most amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

Kidani - From October 2025 through May 2026, Guest rooms at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge will undergo refurbishment. During this time, Guests may see or hear construction work in the area. Most amenities will remain available throughout the refurbishment.

The way they're doing Kidani is they are shutting down an entire half of the resort at a time. It stands to reason they'll do the same at Jambo. There's really no other way to do it with the way the building is arranged. So while you won't get a refurbished room at Jambo in May, you shouldn't have to deal with construction noise or disruption. You could waitlist/stalk Kidani as well, since the refurbishment should be done by then and if they're still holding rooms for the refurb they may be released for booking closer to the time you travel.

We are heading down to Jambo in April, so I hope they don't get an early start on the renovations. We prefer Jambo much more over Kidani, and would not be happy having to move over.
