~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

April 18-25!

We are a family of five, so we're staying off site this time at Wyndham Bonnet Creek in a 2-bedroom suite.

We THINK we've decided on the following for ADRs:

Boma
Ohana
Via Napoli
Biergarten
50's Prime Time

Also want to try following TS:

Be Our Guest
Rose & Crown for fish & chips (is that right??)
Yak & Yeti cafe

I've already got my spreadsheet started & am just waiting for the calendars to be released!

Firs I want to say, this thread is great! Thanks for putting all the information together. Although I am still planning a trip for this September, I am already planning for October 2014 for just me and my kiddo. I have wanted to plan a trip with just the two of us for a while. My mom is joining us this year and bringing my nephew. We book our first disney cruise for may 2014 with 75% of one side if my family joining us and this 2014 will be a trip just for us two. I really love fall. Although November is the only month I have never been to disney, I decided October because we love MNSSHP and I never got to go to the food and wine festival so October it is.
ideally, this trip would be 10 days with a split stay at the contemporary or Yacht club and pop or Coronado springs. It depends on how much I can save between this year trip and the cruise. October 15- 24th are the dates I am going with until further notice.

Hello, and :welcome: to the group! I'll get you added to the list for April. And yes, Rose & Crown is where you'll find fish & chips. :goodvibes

You're welcome! Glad you're finding the information useful! :goodvibes I'll get you added to the list for October with your resort as TBD. If your dates change, or you figure out at what resort you'll be staying, just post with an update.

I want to try to score a early ADR at Crystal Palace in the hopes of getting pics of a empty park. Do they rush you while walking to Crystal Palace? I mean, I understand we are working on a time schedule and I won't be able to camp out on Main Street, I would love some empty park pics.

Both times we've done pre-park ressies at BBB (8:40 each time) we entered at 7:45 a.m. when the first group of people were allowed in. They already have photopass photographers on Main Street and in front of the castle and no body rushed us around. I have priceless pictures of my 2 kids running up to the castle with no on else around (and I would've had an awesome video of DD dancing in front of the castle alone in her princess dress but the camcorder wouldn't focus due to the humidity and by the time it did, she declared she was too tired to continue :headache: - she was 4 - - sorry I tend to ramble at times ;)) We walked all around the hub and all and were never questioned. I believe you just can't enter any of the lands.

I'm holding to my POFQ choice so far. We have a little more than 500 days to go now and all I need is the packages prices. Shut up and take my money Disney!

Awesome story. Awesome memory. Thanks for sharing. Now I wished we would have done this sooner.

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to do a quick update. Things are still undecided as far as what the heck we're actually doing next year. :confused3

Here are the two scenarios:

1. Quick Vegas trip / scaled down WDW trip
2. No Vegas trip / blowout WDW trip

Seems like one of us changes our mind every other day on how we want to do things. I've managed to narrow my Vegas hotel list down to two categories: spendy and not-as-spendy. :teeth: That's as far as I've gotten. :sad2:

As far as WDW, we're back to staying offsite again if we do the blowout trip. I just don't think there's much comparison in what we can get offsite (square foot, amenities) compared to what we can get onsite for the same or nearly the same price. Don't know where offsite, but that decision can be made later.

Still haven't decided on dates, either. :lmao:

In other words, I haven't gotten very far with the plans! :rotfl: I'm sure I'll get things worked out eventually. :upsidedow

------------------

FYI: If you're new or have changes, it may be a while before I can update the lists. I'm having lots of internet issues and keep getting kicked off suddenly, can't get back on ... and I'm afraid to go into EDIT the list and have the whole thing just disappear on me. :scared1: I'm updating sporadically, but keeping track of those I haven't updated/added yet. :goodvibes

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

I wanted to give a quick update on our house search...we found one! I can't believe how quickly it happened. We were all set on this one particular house but the sellers were (what felt to us) jerking us around and there was another house up the street that went on the market less than 2 weeks ago. We fell in love with it. :lovestruc We are currently under contract and are hoping to be moving in by end of July.

Although we are moving 2 towns over, odds are DD2 will be going to daycare instead of staying with our sitter while I'm at work. I am not going full time, but I am extending my day since DD5 is entering kindergarten. Financially I'm still going to be able to save for our trip next summer so I'm excited to continue planning. :woohoo:

We plan on starting to pack whatever we aren't currently using so as not to be overwhelmed when it's time to go. Plus, odds are DBF will be away for 90days for work which means I am going to have to do the move by myself, and he will miss my birthday and DD5's first day of Kindergarten. :sad2: He's hoping someone else gets picked but unfortunately he's 1 of a handful of people who speak Spanish. We'll make it work if it happens.

DD5 graduates from Pre-K tomorrow and her dance recital is this Saturday. DD2 is perfecting her terrible twos. :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

You found a house already! I'm so happy for you! :goodvibes I'll keep my fingers crossed your boyfriend doesn't have to be away for work - hopefully it will work out.

Congratulations!

How exciting! Sounds like everything is coming together and working out :)
Have fun at the dance recital this weekend - our DD5's was on June 1 and we had so much fun (and a few mommy tears as well);)

I've changed my mind again. My 7yr old niece is now going to be joining us for our trip. So that makes 5 in a room and takes out POFQ. We could do POR but we've already stayed there and I have a bucket list to stay at every Disney resort at least once. SO I've convinced MIL to split our stay between CR and either GF or Poly. We'll do the last night at CR with a TPV and do a standard/garden view at one of the other 2 for the first 2 nights to save some money. Thing is I can't decide which one. Poly is my dream resort but we'll be going at the end of January and I think it'll be too cold to use the pool plus no hot tubs. Also I think I'd rather save it for a longer trip. GF is my MIL's dream resort and since she's paying 75% of the trip I'm leaning towards it even though it is a little bit more money. Just not sure about doing GF with 3 kids (ages 8, 7 & 5). Anyone have any thoughts?

GF is not bad. We have stayed both GF and Poly. We prefer Poly hands down. But, my kids enjoyed the pools, and the beach area at GF. Also, you can watch Wishes and see the EWP from there as well. I am sure you guys will have a GRAND time.

I would go with it for the reason I bolded above. If it's her dream resort, and you know you want to do the Poly for a longer trip ... do GF for this one for her. :goodvibes

Make sure you post when you get everything decided on.

My internet is back up and working again! :woohoo: I've updated everyone I had missed previously (except you, Sarah ... I still don't know if your changes were to your January trip).

We are driving to WDW from southern Ontario. Should be checking into POR on September 27. We are heading down for our little princess' 5th birthday (which will be 3 days into the trip). Her birthday will consist of breakfast at either Crystal Palace (like her brother had 4 years prior for his 5th birthday) or 1900 Park Fare, a trip to the BBB and dinner at CRT. This is all granted that things go as planned and I get my ADR's. Now as soon as they release prices for next year I can start my booking!!!!

Some exciting news! On Tuesday when registration opened up for the Princess Half Marathon weekend in Feb, I officially registered for the Glass Slipper Challenge! :cheer2: AND as if that wasn't a big enough blow to my poor little wallet, I suddenly decided to put a deposit down on a room! I went with a river view royal guest room at POR, keeping in with the 'princess' theme of the whole trip! princess: So the past three nights as I've snuggled into bed I suddenly remember OMG I BOOKED A PRINCESS ROOM AT DISNEY and the biggest smile spreads over my face! Literally every night since Tuesday! :rotfl2: Hopefully this keeps up for the next 250 days! :p

AoA and Poly are still in the mix though, so there's no need to update my resort on the main page quite yet! AoA will be if I'm going solo, and Poly will be if my dad magically decides he wants to splurge (I AM GOING TO DIE OF EXCITEMENT IF THIS HAPPENS!) but POR is the pleasant middle ground where we will *probably* end up staying! I'm more than happy with that! It's also sounding like my dad IS almost certainly going to be coming!! At first he was very very hesitant to commit because he hasn't been the healthiest for a few months, and refuses to travel when not feeling well, but lately he's been feeling a lot better and kinda getting the teeniest bit excited about the prospect of going back to Disney! He hasn't been since our last daddy-daughter trip together in 2000!!!!!! So hopefully he will be feeling better and better and nothing will stand in the way of our awesome 2014 daddy-daughter trip! I really want to see him cheering for me at the finish line of the races :goodvibes

First of all, :yay: for the princess room! :woohoo: And best of luck in the Glass Slipper Challenge! :cheer2:
