~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

Just wanted to check in! We are having a great time in Orlando! SeaWorld was fun- Aquatica was great, we are planning another day there tomorrow. I was worried about being here and not going to Disney, but it has been okay! The girls haven't even asked to go - we did hit up downtown disney tonight for a little bit...we have never been there at night, didn't realize how crowded it gets!

Being down here DH and I made 2 decisions: 1) we will not be going in June next year. It is just too hot for us (and we are from Alabama). I'm not sure when we will go...spring break (yikes - but at least ours is not the week before or after Easter); or if we will pull our oldest from school for a week. I never have a problem telling others to do it, but I'm having a hard time doing it myself. I need to look at the calendar and see our options.

2) we will be staying on-site. And it's not because of missing the disney "bubble" - our resort has been super, the staff is great, disney stuff all around, even the disney planning channel or whatever it is called - I'm surprised the girls haven't asked to go To WDW. it's the traffic - it is crazy! DH is super laid back and I am a big planner, we try to compromise, and we both know that adding the traffic word cause major issues for us, lol. I can't imagine doing mid-day breaks staying along I4.

We are staying at Lake Buena Vista Resort - it is great if you are thinking of staying off-sitte. i would be happy to answer any questions.

I came across a "preliminary" schedule (not crowd calendar) including hours and times of events for the various parks for January 2014. I thought I bookmarked the site but - nope, looks like I lost it somewhere in the abyss. :confused3 Has anyone seen or come across this?

I just realized something pretty obvious this week. When we go in Feb, I will hear regular Disney music. My two adult trips have been in Dec so it is always Christmas music. That has been great, but I am looking forward to hearing the "normal" stuff. :listen:

And...guess who got the FD pin code for 2013?? My younger brother!! :mad:He went with us in 2011 and then I had booked a room for him last year but he decided not to go. Tried to convince DH to let me take him for a few days in October, but I have been unsuccessful. I hate letting a pin code go unused!!! :rotfl:But we have discussed taking him with us in Feb, so that would change up the trip a bit. He just graduated college, so hopefully he will have a job and wont be able to go, but we'll see.

I am saving up and hoping for September of 2014. I have been making yearly trips, but the money is just not there right now....

A friend from work is planning on joining me, but is also unsure of the money.

If I can swing it at all, will be going even if I have to go alone. Waiting for the 2014 prices to determine when and where. Leaning toward Sept 7th-13 possibly staying at Pop or AoA.

Hey everyone! I'm just wondering if there's anyone on here excited for the drive to WDW, like I am?? I just made my VERY first new car purchase this past weekend, and the first thing I thought of was how awesome it's going to be driving to WDW in my new car! lol At 42 mpg, It's going to be a HUGE cost-saver for the drive down. So much hype!:hyper::hyper::hyper:

228 days and counting! :moped:

218 days for me!!! And I got a minivan earlier this year!!! I even got the Disney stick figure family. I tell everyone my car is sad because he's never been to Disney before and he really really wants to go... LOL... We drive from Pennsylvania. I can't wait!! I always love the drive down, but the drive back always takes FOREVER. I'm already making a list of Disney movies to bring for the drive and what kind of snacks. Yum!!! So excited!!!!

I was making plans for our first family trip for 2015 but DH told me last night that he wants to go next year! So, if all goes as planned, we will probably stay off-site and go May 31-June 6. There will be 5 of us :cool1:

Until this last trip, I didn't have any TS I considered a "must", but after having breakfast at Kona ... it was pretty awesome, I must admit! :thumbsup2

I have yet to eat at any of the resorts (I am sure I am missing some great food). I will put that on my try list, heard nothing but good things.

I think since we are going for 10 days, I would like to plan a day or two of just visiting the resorts. I have yet to really see any other than POFQ and POR. I was thinking of maybe taking a day to go to IOA, to check out Harry Potter, but I would rather just stay on property, I dont know if that is a good thing or not. :rotfl:

DBF was looking at menus/resturants and wants to maybe go to Victoria & Alberts, but that will be decided at a later time. Hopfully just a 2-3 more weeks and we can book our package. I feel off, since we already have our plane tickets booked.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

We decided to eat breakfast at Cape May this morning! I was able to get an ADR last night. My 2 year old was s excited when she saw Minnie! She kept calling all the characters over, but of course wanted nothing to do with them when they got to our table ;)

We also ate at TEx last night - it was neat! Had never been there; we had an hour wait (which we expected bc we didn't have resides) but the kids had fun in the boneyard.

Oh, and when we were at Cape May this morning we were hanging out around the car out front snapping some pics bc we were quite early (shocker for our family lol) and a man came up to us and asked us to be videoed for the new Beach Club part of the website! I don't really know all the details, we did it, signed releases and stuff and it is supposed to be on the blog Thursday or Friday. Glad I dressed the girls cute this morning, lol! It was neat and we all got a pin that we can remember our experience by.m

I think we are leaning towards CSR for our resort....I know I know, changing my mind alll the time! :)

I haven't seen any calendars whatsoever for 2014 yet. If you come back across the link, let me know so I can get it added here.

Figures! Someone always gets the pincode who can't or doesn't want to use it! :lmao: Keep working on that October trip. ;)

How far will you be driving? I like road trips. ::yes:: What kind of car did you get? We need details here!

Don't laugh, but I thought the POP food court was great. I wouldn't suggest making a special trip just to eat there, though! If you end up there to check out the resort though (which is pretty neat), don't hesitate to eat there. Everything we had was good.

Hi All~ we just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago (our once in a lifetime trip) well we had the best time of our lives that I started to save for our next!!!!!! I'm thinking summer 2014.
