~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

Oh we loved our Kona breakfast too!!

We are headed down to Orlando on Wednesday - we will go to SeaWorld and Aquatica! A little bummed about no Disney - but I am really looking forward to the trip

Whoops! I missed this post the first time around when I was multi-quoting like crazy. :crazy2:

Hope you have a fun, safe trip down to Orlando next week! We'll want details when you come back! :goodvibes

Hi Bearcatsfan! :wave2: Welcome back! Where did you go on vacation?

I may not get to go to Disney next year, because I will be in jail for strangling my husband!! :lmao: He is worse than me about choosing a resort. He has decided on and then later rejected every resort I mentioned this week. But we did decide to rent a car so busses are less important. Priorities are a good food court, a king or at least a queen and price. Now I am off to read about CBR and ASM family suite. :confused3

Hey Bearcatsfan! The October trip is going to be an extended family trip, my parents are renting a 6 bedroom villa about 20 minutes from the gate for 2 weeks and inviting the three kids, their spouses and the 2 grandchildren. This was the original vacay that we were thinking of WL or AKL but once the plans changed I realized that a) we now have some additional fundage for Disney and b) I can't wait until October 2014! :)

Long time, no see :wave2:

I hit a wall with my planning, there was nothing left to do! I did make one big change though, we're passing on AoA this trip. I've planned an afternoon there to go "visit" the cars but the more I looked at my plans the more I realized that we were going to be spending more time travelling to parks/ADRs than anything. The first choice was to BC or YC because of SAB but Feb is iffy temp wise and I'd be so disappointed to be there and have it be too cold to swim. Next choice was the Contemporary and I really thought I had settled on that but after reading trip reports and everything else I can get my hands on I have fallen in love with the Poly. So much in love that I'm actually crunching numbers to see if buying DVC would be possible when the Poly becomes a DVC resort. So I guess Jan 31 to Feb 7 at the Poly is the new plan. I need them to release 2014 packages so I can book something permanent, already. It's long distance for me to call and make changes to my reservations and I'm cheap enough that I will just stick with what I have rather than pay the charges on the phone bill. :rotfl:

Thanks! :goodvibes Just a short in-state trip to Hocking Hills. It wasn't WDW (wahhh  ) but it will have to do for now. :teeth:

What did you find out about CBR & ASM? Any closer to a decision? popcorn::

:wave2: The October trip sounds fun - are you planning anything specific since you'll have such a large group? We need some details here!

I don't blame you for not wanting to wait until October - I'm having serious issues myself thinking of waiting that long. :headache:

Long time, no see :wave2:

Hey there! DVC, huh? Have you stayed in a DVC resort before - any of them? I really love SSR. A lot of people don't because it isn't as themed, but I like how close it is to DTD and the fact that you can get off WDW property easily.

I'll get your info changed. ::yes::

Wozwer thanks

You're welcome! :goodvibes Are you planning a trip in 2014? If so, what are your dates and where are you staying?

Looks like it's time for us to get added to this as well. My wife (Dani784) and I have finally booked our rooms, making our dream become a little bit closer to reality. We are travelling with my father-in-law who will be staying at Pop.

We will be staying with our 4 kids in a Finding Nemo suite at AoA. Our dates are April 27-May 8. We'll be celebrating our anniversary, my birthday, my wife's birthday, and our oldest daughter's 7th birthday while we're there

We're eagerly watching as the time flies by :hourglass

Nope :) Closest I've been is having lunch in one of the villas at OKW with a woman my mom rowed with. I was ready to buy then and there. DH is still skeptical, I need this trip to be amazing so I can convince him. Poly DVC is pretty much out of the question unless I win the lottery or Disney seriously lowers what they ask per point but I've been watching the Timeshare Store resale section lately and some of the resales would be doable. I'm still drooling over the pictures of the villas on the water, though.

I'm surprised more people don't like SSR. From all of the pictures I've seen it looks so pretty. If it came up for the right price I'd buy in there in a second.

Just found this thread and I love it, all the info is amazing :)
Me and my DF will be staying at saratoga springs , June 27th - July 4th 2014 for our wedding planning trip :) celebrating being engaged and planning a DFTW :D

Omg I can't wait to hear all about this! Please do a pre trip or post trip report or both. I just love DFTW! Congrats. Saratoga lovely! DW and I home resort :-)

We are sitting 400 days. I am planned, now the wait is killing me. Pinterest is helping pass the time. I made a countdown using a picture frame and use a dry erase marker to right with on the glass. Right now I have 14 MONTHS written on it.

Here's some pixie dust while we pass the time:cheer2:

Update: We decided on two rooms at POP. I really wanted to stay at POFQ, but can't justify spending that much more, maybe one day when I travel with less kids, or they pay their own way. I am excited that we now have some finalized plans and we are on the official countdown - 428 days.

Looking at the front page I am still also down for an Oct/Nov stay. Sadly that will have to wait until I don't have anyone in high school.

We have also decided that we will also save money by driving. I just can't see paying for 5 of us to fly, and the train is just too slow. Two of my kids will be diving by that point so we will share the trip.

What did you find out about CBR & ASM? Any closer to a decision? popcorn::

I think we have made a decision!!!! Yes, I still have 6 months to change my mind, but I think we have a winner. In the last couple months we have seriously considered, Pop, AoA, AS Music family suite, POR, POFQ, CSR, CBR, WL, YC, BW, BC and CR. I think the only ones I didnt look into at all were GF, Poly, SSR and OKW.
We have decided on.....CBR!!! It was not on my radar at all since it is sooo big and still has double beds. But DH had decided he wants to rent a car anyway so we dont have to walk so far to the bus stops and wait. And we would book a king bed at a moderate. The food court looks yummy and the grounds are beautiful!! We are not beach people at all, so never plan a vacation to one, but a few minutes walking in the sand and looking at the gorgeous scenery will be nice. We watched a zillion youtube videos of the resort yesterday. They all show the same things of course, but it was like, oh another one let's watch it. :rotfl2: I am happy because this is the first resort that we have both been really excited about that we can actually afford.
So please officially change me to CBR Feb 7-15th. :goodvibes

Congrats Valgoof on picking a resort!

I can completely relate to the choosing a resort angst!

We're now back to POFQ! :rolleyes1

The kids wanted the AOA suite but after looking at the pictures, it just won't work for us. If our kids were younger, that would be one thing, but our youngest will be 12 this trip and both of our boys are approaching 6' tall ... and I can't imagine my 22yo and 12yo daughters sleeping on a table! :rotfl:

Resorts & Days Subject to change but right now here's what i'm looking at for 2014

September 19-22- Pop
September 22-Oct 1- All Stars(With my Dad & Stepmom)
December 3- Bay Lake Tower(Using one time use DVC points)
December 4-10- Resort TBA(All Stars or Pop depending on price & food court refurb for that time whether its Music or Movies by that time)

My advice for you on DVC ... read, read, read everything you can find before you make the decision to buy. The DVC boards here are a wealth of information. We looked at DVC in September - took the tour and everything on our last trip. I'm still reading all I can get my hands on, still trying to decide whether to jump in or not.

SSR is beautiful, but it is HUGE. Depending on what section you're in, you can be a long walk from the main building/restaurant. IMHO, a car is pretty much a must if you stay at SSR. I loved it there, though. Took lots of pictures of the fountains. :teeth: Very convenient to DTD, easy to get off WDW property and eat off-property if you desire, buy groceries, etc.

Good luck with your decision! :goodvibes
