~*~The OFFICIAL 2014 Dates Thread - Come Join Us!~*~

Glad to see you back! :goodvibes Did you have fun at HHI? We need some details here! ;)

:teeth:

We had a great time at HHI. The CMS are the BEST. They knew our children's name after the first day and made all of us feel at home. What kind of details are you looking at? I am more than happy to answer any questions.

Did anybody check out the partial list of the 2013 Candlelight Processional narrators? There are 2 new narrators for this year and I hope that they will stay on for next year. Dennis "Cerrano" Haysbert and Ashley Judd will be doing the CP this year.

So far we've seen Whoopi (2010, our first CP) and Blair Underwood (2012). And both were great (Underwood was better).

1 more day til rates are out.

I was just wanting to know if you had a good time and if you did anything fun while you were there that you wanted to share. :goodvibes I like to live vicariously through others vacations! :rotfl: :lmao:

So did else anyone set an alarm, jump out of bed this morning, run down the stairs, load the Disney site and THEN realize it's only the 9th? Just me? Ok then......

So the verdict is in, and camping is out. For now. We talked about it over the weekend, the first thing he asked me was if I was willing to give up some of our early ADR plans and I'm really not. Our kids are super early birds and their manners in the morning are 100X better than at dinner. It's not so much that they're bad at night just tired and getting overwhelmed. As I suspected, it was the transportation that did it. FW requires internal busses or rental golf carts to get to the park bus stop with the exception of MK which would require a boat to CR, walk to MK combo to get us there on time. Well he did the math, worked backwards and figured out what time we would have to leave the site to get to the restaurant and that was that. He's (surprisingly) still down for camping, just not on a trip where I have a ton of stuff planned. He actually suggested that we try for Halloween next year, Halloween at the Fort is supposed to be spectacular.

I was really bummed for a few days, and I might have turned into a bit of a spoiled brat for a moment there but it's ok. He did exactly what I asked him to do, which is look at the info I gave him and really think about what he wanted from this vacation. I can't ask for more than that :confused3 If the very early mornings were going to make him miserable I want to know now, not when I'm trying to get everyone out the door on that first morning. And I'm still going to Disney, staying in 2 beautiful resorts and he fully agreed to sending the kids to the Sandcastle Club one night so I get to have a date night with my husband in WS. Life could be worse. :cool1:

I said something to DH about ADR day being August 11th and he thought I was crazy for knowing that date. I said, I am not alone.

I can't imagine not knowing that date. I have the 10th (not that it helped any), the 15th(Feb hours come out) and the 31st all marked in big giant letters on our kitchen calendar, my Google docs calendar and my phone.

Can anyone tell me around how much out of pocket 2 adults on the dining plan will cost. What I am asking is what is spent on average for tips and 1 meal a day that are not included. This would be for the regular dining plan so 1 sit down 1 quick service and 1 snack. I know that there is no way to tell exactly but I am looking for an estimate so I can budget (I would also rather budget high than low) Thanks!

Hi there! :wave2: Welcome to the group! I'll get you added on the September list for CBR.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for FD for you! :goodvibes Are you planning to do costumes for MNSSHP? :teeth:

Oops, changed our minds today. I saw how much money we would be saving on our trip, so we upgraded our hotel to POR for the Royal Guest Room for our daughter.

She is going to DIE! She will have no idea till we get there :)

Totally doing costumes... I'm thinking DH - Mad Hatter, Me - Queen of Hearts, DD - Alice, and DS - White Rabbit, could be fun :)

Or something else... going to try to dress as characters all from the same film :rotfl:

Hi all! I'm new to this thread (and to these forums), but my boyfriend and I are tentatively planning to go to WDW from Aug. 4 through 15 in 2014... that'll be our longest trip there yet, so hopefully it happens! :rotfl:

Wow feels like a long time since I've checked in on here. After being one of the first few on the thread it looks like I'll be pulling out.
After changing the trip from next November to moving up to this November to use the free dining PIN, to waiting until next August, we have had a COMPLETE change of plans...and we leave 2 weeks from Friday!!

DH accepted a new job and it looks like he won't have vacation for quite some time so he wants to make sure the kids don't have to wait too long for Disney we decided last night that we will be leaving 2 weeks from Friday or Saturday.

I'm not worried about the week but somewhat concerned about the crowds. I was surprised though at how easily I could get ressies - I was able to get a pre park opening at CP, H&V, and Tusker for breakfast, got DS and Dad in to the Harmony Barber Shop together and got a BBB for DD at MK!

I will keep checking in because who knows, we could always throw in a trip next year but I have a feeling his next vacation he's going to push to head to the Keys for some fishing.

Now time to cram and make sure I have everything right!

We spent most of our time at the resort. There were so many activities to do and the CMs were awesome. The Pirate Party that they have every Tuesday was great. The really try to include the whole family in it. My DD and DH did an ice cream eating making contest, too funny. We also ate at One Hot Mamas and it was the best food we had on our trip. Plus DH got Orchid's autograph for me.

I just looked this up for friend....2013 rates....QS Dining PLan is $37.58 per day and the Basic Dining Plan is $55.59 non-peak and $56.94 peak per day. I hope this helps...check out allears.net for more information.

I'm so glad you have your answer now. :goodvibes Now you can start making real plans and everything will fall into place. :teeth: Should I go ahead and update the list?

I've heard FW is the place to be at Halloween, so I'm sure you will enjoy that very much! At least he is still keeping the possibility open for the future - it definitely could be worse! ::yes::

Okay, I think I get what you're asking, but I want to be sure. You don't want to know what the cost of the actual dining plan is, right? You want to know how much an OOP meal would be ... plus the cost of tips?

If this is the info you're looking for, that's not really a question any of us could answer. Only you know where you are interested in eating that one OOP meal ... if it will be QS or TS ... and what the actual food you are interested in eating would be. Have you checked the menus for the places you think you'd like to eat? That would be the best way to estimate the cost of that one OOP meal.

As far as tips go ......... that's an even harder question to answer. You'd need to estimate the amount of your meal (what food you're interested in eating, or if it's a buffet, the set price), then figure your tips based on that amount.

Unfortunately those are questions only you could answer once you have checked out the menus and prices.

FWIW, I generally figure $30 per QS for my husband and I. TS are harder to figure because of the varying prices on entrees, desserts, etc.

That's okay - it's no problem to change you on the list. :goodvibes

Thanks! :) It's been so interesting reading through the threads on this forum.

I'm hoping to stay in a Little Mermaid room in AoA. We stayed at POP last year and really enjoyed it there, but when we walked over to AoA from POP, I was really impressed with the theming and thought it might be exciting to stay there. Plus we can't afford anything more than a value :rotfl:

:welcome: to the group! You say you're going to try for the 1st week ... meaning the first week of November? I will add you to either the Oct. or Nov. list once you post an update. :goodvibes

If you want to do MNSSHP, you need to be careful when planning your dates because those last couple of days do sell out. ::yes::
