As a long time ebayer and craigslister, when I tell you I have NOTHING left to sell believe me. My house is clutter free and I feel like I live in a magazine (lots of hard work on my part to keep it that way but I am OCD on clutter!!!!). Even my basement has nothing in it that I don't use on a yearly basis.

However whenever I decide I wanted to do something splurge, I make DD help me. My latest is I want a built in for my dining room. Got a quote from a carpenter and decided I must raise 600.00 in odd money to help fund it. Why I pick 600 I don't know.

Now remember there is nothing here to sell!! SOOO we got crazy with what we would sell. We weeded thru our cosmetics, hair stuff, etc. Had new samples of WEN, etc. Honestly just sample stuff that I may have pitched netted us 50.00. Samples? Really. Ok. USED CALANDARS from Chik Filet. We buy them for the coupon card and normally just pitch them. HAd 10 of them ready to pitch. DD sells them for 30.00 on ebay.

we then hit the coat closet and discover coats she bought last season b/c they were a STEAL she wasn't as nuts about now. Tags on etc. Return.

We did this entire process for a week and raised 617.00. Some books we sold to Amazon, some video games we sold to amazon. I even consigned and sold some jewelry that I liked but did NOT love..ANYTHING unworn and new needed to be explained or it was being sold/returned.

It is amazing. Honest if you think you have NOTHING left to sell -- you are wrong. Oh and I did participate in a focus group for an hour for 75.00 so that went towards my goal as well.

Now I upped it to 1k....but how I will do that I don't know...Seriously there is NOTHING LEFT!!!! But give me ideas if you have any...I have a goal to meet again!

I sold some new packages of senseo coffee pods from my pantry once and got huge money! I didn't use my senseo anymore and I had 2 six packs of coffee from amazon. I almost choked when I saw they were going for $100 a six pack. I found out that during that time senseo stopped producing them and they were to be discontinued. I jumped on that and made an easy $200. Senseo, I think, went back to making them but check your pantry for seasonal type items or anything you think you can make a buck on.

How about coupons from your mail? I know that Gymboree coupons and Pottery Barn and those types used to sell for $20 or so depending on the coupon.

Or even magazines? Some issues sell.

My kids go through their video games about once a year and usually make a couple hundred on whatever games they got for Christmas that turned out to be not so great.

Let me see what else I can think of...

I'm really impressed! You've raised a lot of money so far.
Yeah, Gymboree and Crazy8 coupons sell on eBay for anywhere from $0.99-$4. I email the coupon code so that the buyer gets it right away and if they need a coupon for in-store use, then I either scan and email it or, as a last option, mail the physical coupon. I don't know how much other coupons sell for, but the coupon idea is a good one, especially for kids clothes. Maybe Children's Place or Carter's is also another good coupon to sell. Get on their mailing lists and you'll get coupons sent to you!

But you've got the general right idea -- sell anything with tags that you aren't crazy about.

I'm shocked that old Chick Fil A calendars sell for $30 apiece. Nice!

You just gave me such a good idea to sell our old DVDs on Amazon. We don't watch them at all!

Any anything in a garage that is "vintage" would probably sell because there's always a collector somewhere! lol

OP, I really admire your determination! :thumbsup2

I have tons of stuff I could sell but I always think it will be a hassle to do so (packing and shipping).

Ok, this is my next mission!!!! My DD was a Converse sneaker fanatic, and she must have had 12 pairs..........and then she had a growth spurt. NONE of them fit her anymore, and they're adorable! Going on eBay right now!

I have absolutely tons of books and DVDs to sell. What do you mean that you "sold them to Amazon"???

One item I never expected to sell were plastic hangers, mainly for kids clothes. I have sold several sets of 20-25 the last couple of years.

My oddest...a few years ago I decided I was going to stop cross stitching or at least get rid of my floss and just buy what I needed for individual projects. I had one of the floss boxes with floss wrapped around the cardboard holders. It was full. Some of the floss boards had very little on them; some a lot. I did not list the colors I had and just said basically what I said here. The box sold for $135.00.

I also was one of the horrible people that had a few boxes of Hostess products when they closed last year and I made a lot of money on those as well.

Oh sorry 30 for ALL TEN of the calandars..but hey I was just pitching them anyway!!!! I will keep digging. Honest I have been such a seller/declutter for years I am bottom of the barrel. Never tried coupons though.......selling that is...thanks!

LOL@@ I don't blame you a bit! :)

Sell those tennis shoes for sure! Depending on WHAT books you have you look it up on amazon and on the right hand side is a yellow button that says HAVE ONE TO SELL and there is a dollar amount and then click there to sell it. Now mind you it is normally books amazon is low on stock or discontinued or CURRENT bestsellers...as in you bought it, read it and flipping it.. Sold a few of the DK publishing books for a nice amount the other day on there. But it is free to sell and free postage and I get an amazon gift card. So the money is normally NOT huge

I have friends like this and view it that way. Honest once you get a groove it is easy. Especially since you can buy postage on line and have postal pick it up for free. If you really don't want to be bothered look up in your area a store front that does it all for you for around a 30 percent fee...So you will get money for selling just not ALL the money...

What size?

Wow, good for you! Thanks for posting, you're inspiring me to look around. My small PT job ended and I've been looking for ways to save $ &/or earn that extra cash in other ways.

wow! That's flipping awesome!! We are expecting another round of cold tonite and I know I will not be leaving the house, so I may get inspired and go through some closets for things we dont need and sell them. We are heading to DW in Nov, so this will help a lot. Thanks for the inspiration!!

You are right, and I really have no excuse not to do it. My office is in the same building as a post office. :rolleyes1
I have sold books on half.com Do you sell most of your stuff on ebay?

We have a local Facebook Page for buying and selling- like a local CraigsList site. It is pretty easy to post and then I usually meet the person on my way to work or kids' activities. I won't go out of my way to meet though- not worth the time, gas, etc.
I do find I am selling quicker on this site, but feel that I could make a little more through EBay. I just don't like the time and money going to ship these products.

Either way...I am selling things that have been in my way, not being used, collecting dust. I really hope that I can make enough to pay off our crazy debt and/or to put towards our vacation this summer. I think I will go through more drawers, cabinets, and closets to look for items you have mentioned. I wouldn't have thought about my books, magazines, etc. :thumbsup2

Okay, you all have inspired me. Today I went through a couple shelves in the basement and set aside stuff to sell. I found a princess bed canopy, Zuzu pets, Girl Gourmet bakery sets, and a whole tote of MegaBlocks (I refuse to sell our Legos). If I can sell this stuff I'll tackle other shelves.

Go for it!!! We love our legos too. I save all boxes and istructions and have made a small fortune in the last two years. Carosuel for over 500 bucks!! That is DD's money though for college and car...but still SHE made a mint by taking great care of her stuff. REfuses to part with Potter sets. No problem!

I sell MOST on ebay but I do CL for bulkier stuff and I price it sell. Sold a quilt set for 50 last week....I am on a tear around here. My carpenter stopped over tonight to measure for the built in and I added crown moulding onto the job for an additional room. DD says oh no this means we are really going thru the closets tonight ! LOL

If you have a Pre-Duffy plush (before he was Duffy when he was just the Disney Bear) they sell for $100 or more even if they are well loved. I have seen two of them at my local thrift store in 2013. I bought them for $3 and sold them for $100 & $300!!!

Whoever said kids plastic hangers...that's me. I BUY them from ebay. I have 4 kids and I love the store type pinch hangers for pants and skirts. Makes it easy for my kids to help with their own clothes.

Know those weight circles on pet food bags like Cat Chow or Dog Chow? You can sell those on ebay. I once sold a pile of them for around $70. Those bags were just going into the trash anyway, I just cut out the little circles and accumulate them for a year or so (depends on how many pets you have how fast you can save them up).
