Hoping that someone who tried to book around Halloween last year has a sense of when blackouts were for FD. I want to go around Halloween - as late in that week as possible, but I can't find any posts that describe blackout dates from 2013 on or around Halloween (not specific anyway). I know each year is different - I'm not looking for guarantees. I just want to start planning and potentially book some flights based on previous year's valid FD arrival dates. I'm hoping to arrive on 10/30 and get FD. Did anyone arrive and have free dining in the days leading up to Halloween in 2013?

Here were the dates for last year:

September 29th through October 2nd
October 18th to November 2nd
November 11th through November 23rd
December 12th through December 22nd

Here were the dates for 2012:

9/30/12–10/4/12
10/19/12–11/1/12
11/9/12–11/15/12
11/23/12–11/29/12
12/10/12–12/13/12**

**This was then extended to 12/20

Thanks. I'm just seeing so many people here stressing out about ADRs and FP+ and scheduling everything nearly down to the minute. I'd rather spend the extra time in a line than running across a park to the next scheduled thing. Or looking at a clock and saying "I can't do that because I'll miss my time for this thing".
I would think that a lot of people are missing out on a lot of little (possibly magical) things and enjoyments while rushing around worrying and trying to get the "most" out of their time and money.
If I don't eat somewhere or see something or miss a ride, I don't think it's going to be the end of the world. There's so many other things in this world to worry about.

I must admit, I'm a little jealous that you'll be there for 15 days (against my 5 days) as by the time I get there, it'll be over 17 years since I've been to any Disney property.



I'm coming in on a Sunday and the current schedule indicates that night and then Thursday night would be my only 2 choices since I'm leaving early Friday afternoon. I'm thinking I'll end up at the Sunday night party since at the point I'll be getting in will be too late to do much else at any of the parks. (I hate my flight times).

if you check in on a date that is included in FD, you get it for your entire stay up to 14 days even if there are black out days during your stay. If someone checked in on 10/29 or 10/30 in 2013 or 2012 they would have gotten FD.

Those dates are the valid check in dates for the deal. The gaps in between the listed sets of dates are the blackout dates. As long as you check in on a covered date, you will get free dining for up to 14 nights.

We booked our airfare last week!

Oh I hear ya! I caved and book my hotel/park tickets yesterday.. I'll be able to book ADR's in 13 days.. so I didn't want to wait anymore. Here's still hoping for a discount adjustment when it comes out!

Was there any mention of RO discounts? I'll take what I can get but prefer RO. Have they ever done FD and no RO discounts? I would imagine the FD would fill the resorts so why offer both

I am having a really hard time figuring out my ADRs since they haven't released park hours yet. I usually book dining around our park days. My ADR window is opening in 4 days!
We are also toying with doing a night at Universal just to see the WWOHP.

Park hours are out for October. By your ADR date, you should be able to see park hours.

The thing that is really getting me, is that there is not even word of any special unique offers (PIN codes) floating around.

I know that I am not guaranteed to get one of these, but it would make me feel better at least knowing that there was a deal out there. I do not remember any of the previous years where talk of a PIN code was nonexistent
for the fall around this time frame.

We are REALLY excited to hear news about the FD possibility for October, and hopefully for our dates. Has anyone had FD start a few days after the length of your stay? If so, is it ever possible to make two sets of reservations? One would be for the days before the FD offer, and the other would start on the FD offer so as to get FD for at least part of the stay?

Interesting they are having a MNSSHP on Monday 10/13 instead of a Sunday 10/12 and Tuesday 10/14.

They do that every year. That Monday is Columbus Day, so they do not do a Sunday or Tuesday. Up until last year, it was a light crowd day, but Coulumbus Day and the dates surrounding it sold out last year. With more schools getting Fall Breaks, the party crowds are increasing a bit.

Last year the Fall PINs started going out on April 3. I didn't get mine until the end of May. They go out in waves. Should be starting soon.
