Another one, not so obscure, from the mid 80's, a duet of two of my favorite artists:

Wonder if anyone knows this, mid-80s, American band, semi-obscure back then:

Bravo. I'm impressed. Not many people remember Thunder Island.

The other one in that post is from the same year. Its definitely more obsure, so I'll give a hint. It contains the word "Bam".

And I thought I was good at this (LOL). So far I've only gotten one. I don't recognize any of the ones currently up.

As for mine, one more hint and then I'll give it up as being too obscure. Besides containing the word "Bam", it also contains the word "Wham" (and no, George Micheal had nothing to do with it). These two words figure very prominantly in the song.

Someone please tell me I'm not the only one who still remembers this dippy little song.

LOL. Okay, the hint is the popular version of this song was done by a band known for covering the original artists work.

drmadman, the song is Blinded by the Light. Was the original band Manfredd Mann? Something like that. Bruce Springsteen, of course, made it popular.

Dmadman got it! You even got the group right. Wham Bam Shang-a-lang was one of those songs that was all over the radio for about 3 days, then vanished without a trace.

Regarding Blinded by the light. I beleive it was written by Springsteen, but Manfred Man had a bigger hit with it (not the other way around). I actually like Manfred Mans version better. It has a bit more life to it.

OK, Heres an easy one. The artist here had a much bigger hit later on, but I believe this was his first hit. This comes from the mid 80's.
