The obscure song thread

I thought of him as I put that one in... I think I might have the 45 somewhere... maybe we can mail it to him.....

Good job!

Dear God ... XTC
I remember my mother, the good Catholic that she is, being offended by it.

You're right about Concrete Blonde, it's The Vampire Song (Bloodletting). It just popped into my head, a roommate in University used to play it over and over....

I've got to come up with a good one...okay, in the same vein (no pun intended):

Fighting back the tears, mother reads the note again
Sixteen candles burn in her mind

Blasphemous Rumors, Depeche Mode, and Lou Reed...

Love to play more, but have to sleep.. play on without me...

I didn't even realize it was 1 a.m. And I have to work in the morning!

Thanks for letting me play, sorry if I posted too much, but I just noticed that I'm now a "DIS Veteran" instead of "Welcomed Guest"... that's something!

One last:
Won't you come out to play?
Look around....

Don't now that one...Not long enough.

How about this one...

"Breaking away with the beast of both worlds. A smile that you can't desguise. Every minute..."

"Breaking away with the beast of both worlds. A smile that you can't desguise. Every minute..."

New Moon on Monday -- obscure lyrics, but not an obscure song.

You guys have some good taste in music! I'm just crushed that someone beat me to the Depeche Mode song. :(

I don't know mivvers', so here is mine that I saw in concert last night...

What would
Replace the rent with the stars above
Replace the need with love
Replace the anger with the tide
Replace the ones, the ones, the ones, that you love

Jenn-- Its not 80's, or British... so its not on the tip of my tongue

Doc's is Kid Fears, Indigo Girls.

The songs don't have to be super obscure. Heck, I haven't heard of half this stuff (LOL).
Heres another. Its another early 80's one hit wonder (I listened to the radio a lot more in the early 80's).

I'll take another wedding in stride.
It another June wedding and I'm sitting on the bride's side... Again.

Oh good, I was stressing about my songs not being "obscure" enough! ;)

Your quote sure is for me, though WDWHound, I have no idea! Here's some more lyrics to add to the last ones I posted:

"The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful and so are you"
The next two words would be the title.

Hope everyone has a good day!

BTW Doc, how was the concert??? Lucky you!
I love the Indigo Girls .... "I'll just sit around the house and resist, and not be seen until I cease to exist. Kind of conscientious objection..." That's my fave.

mivvers, is yours The Beatles' Dear Prudence?

Can't figure that one out.. its not coming out right away, like the others....

Yeah...those are the lyrics to "Dear PRudence"

Here's an obscure, but wonderful oldie.....it was the music from an old Robbie Benson movie, and, IMHO, one of the most beautiful romantic songs ever:

"Justice is a lady
Lay me down with justice
In a long white gown
with a breath of love, we can share..."

This one is practically impossible to get in cd.

Joe's is from One on One!

I have no idea what yours is Hound. another hint?

Here's another one:

never let on, never let on
look to the left, look to the right
why can't you look me
straight in the eye

I guess mine was more obsucre than I thought. I'll give you the artist and a few more lyrics. That just leaves the title

The artist's name was Fred Knoblock (I never heard of him either)

Here the first verse:
"I’ll take another wedding in stride
Here’s another June wedding
I’m sittin’ on the bride’s side...again
Why do they always have to play that song?
You know the one
It’s funny, but we never get to sing along

Her daddy’s got her by one arm
I used to have her by the other
At least until she found another lover and then another"

Teejay, is yours Poison Arrow(or something like that)? Those lyrics are ones I know I know, but I just cant place it for sure.

Still clueless. :teeth: I could do a search but that's cheating, you win. Go again!

CamColt - It's not Poison Arrow.
