The not so live version of dining w/ Disers, in Castles & on Safari! The Wrap! 2/26

I want to do the tea!!! I want to take Cortlyn. I know that she would enjoy it. But she'd want to have some tea- no chocolate milk for her! LOL Everything looks SO yummy! I'd have to sub the ham for PB&J, but other than that, I would want to try all of that.

Glad you loved tea at the GF! It's one of my favorites. The lemon curd wasn't offered when we were there - reason to go back! I love the presentation of the strawberries and cream. Yum~

Definitely go back for that lemon curd. If you are already a tea fan then that's reason enough. :)

Your little lady is a tea drinker - that's cute! I think a mother/daughter tea is in your future!

They will sub whatever they have available. I don't know what the choices are but I zeroed in on PB&J and was happy.

Day 13: Wed. August 28, 2013: – The Wave Breakfast

This was the 4th visit to The Wave for breakfast I believe. My past experiences were less than desirable. However, since Em is a fan and it is just a short elevator ride downstairs so you can’t beat the commute I booked it to fill a gap in our breakfast plans.

As I’ve said in the past, the place doesn’t scream Disney with the décor but then again it does have a lot of conventioneers.

I ordered something new this time considering I was going to avoid the spinach, tomato and feta cheese scrambled eggs at all costs! The Belgian waffle sounded good. Em ordered the multigrain waffle with fruit compote. She appears to be a fan of that since this was a three-peat for her. She also ordered hot tea.

ATTENTION, ATTENTION, ATTENTION… I finally ordered something that I actually liked. Yes, it’s true. That Belgian waffle was very good. But even better, they really wanted to impress me since it was a Mickey waffle!! Yay! Complete bliss! I substituted a scrambled egg for the breakfast meat no problem.

Multigrain or Belgian Waffle: with fruit compote and choice of bacon, pork or chicken sausage ($9.99)

Em loves the fruit compote while I opted for the more traditional syrup on my waffle.

What a difference this experience was compared to our last few visits. In fact, we returned here in December since I was excited to keep this in our dining rotation.

With our TiW card, we saved $5.07.

Next Up: Tokyo Dining lunch

Looks yummy to me! I can't say no to a mickey waffle ever! I'm glad you found something there that you enjoyed. :)

I am so glad you finally had a good breakfast at The Wave! It was one of my favorites from our last trip. We had the buffet however, but this time will likely be ordering off the menu!

I'm happy to hear you FINALLY had a good breakfast at the Wave!!

you do love your Mickey Waffles!!

I've only been there for lunch. It was good but I went simple as I was following it up with GF tea lol.

Yay! That Mickey Waffle looks great! I'm always going back and forth between traditional and fruit syrups… I love BOTH of them! ::yes::

That waffle looks tasty! I've never tried the Wave, but I've always been intrigued...one of these trips...

:woohoo: for finding something you liked at the Wave. Those waffles look perfect - light and fluffy and yummy!!!

Wow! That's some effort to get a reservation! The cupcakes will hopefully make any meal better there. :) I like hot tea at the holiday time since I like a ginger spice blend otherwise I'm only an occasional tea drinker. Do you have little sandwiches when you have tea at home? Oh, and scones. I wouldn't mind having those with lemon curd for dinner. (I had to fix my typo that said lemon crud. oops!) ::
oh, yes, I make all sandwiches just more so it is like a meal. Plus, I make my own lemon crud (I mean curd). I also serve all kinds of finger type appetizers like mini zucchini quiche, bacon puff balls, etc... I make the scones as well. But I buy the clotted cream and mini desserts at whole foods. If I don't have homemade jam on hand I'll buy something nice at whole foods. My girls love it.

It's great that you finally enjoyed your breakfast at The Wave. :goodvibes I really enjoy the breakfast buffet there - it's probably my favorite breakfast in the MK area.

(Admittedly, I still need to try GFC and WCC for breakfast - hopefully next time) ;)

I'm so glad that the Mickey waffle didn't let me down! Of course, I probably could have ordered that 4 trips ago and ended the complaining! :lmao:

Thanks! It shames me to admit that I could have ordered the buffet all along and had some waffles. Duh! I'm learning that there are more choices that you can order al la carte than are on the menu.

BTW: I'm glad that I caught up with your PDR since you noted FF which will be a first for me next trip. :)

Paula you know me so well! If you were like me you probably needed another meal after those little sandwiches at the GF tea! Em has wanted to try lunch at The Wave ever since she read Mr. DDW's lunch review a couple years ago. I'm not ready to book lunch there yet.

Yay! That Mickey Waffle looks great! I'm always going back and forth between traditional and fruit syrups… I love BOTH of them! ::yes::

Mickey waffles finally made the difference! I'm pathetic, for sure.

You probably like the fruit syrup selections at the pancake houses right? I stick with maple. I certainly don't expand my horizons much when it comes to that. ;)

That waffle looks tasty! I've never tried the Wave, but I've always been intrigued...one of these trips...

The Wave is a convenient location since we tend to stay at BLT at least part of our trips. It's a reasonably priced breakfast by Disney standards too. Just don't go expecting over the top Disney theming.

:woohoo: for finding something you liked at the Wave. Those waffles look perfect - light and fluffy and yummy!!!

:thumbsup2 Certainly a reason to rejoice! They were good. :)

Wow! You may be disappointed with the Disney teas since they may not pull off as fabulous of a job as you. Anyone who makes their own lemon curd is incredible! That's awesome. My mom is a fan of the Dickenson's lemon curd. I've never bought any myself since that would be dangerous. It may be eaten straight out of the jar which would be bad.

We had dinner at The Wave in December. It was a last minute choice and turned out to be a most delicious meal. We wanted something close to the WL and I had read some good reviews, so decided to try it. The decor screamed 1970's Disney, but both DH and I thought our entrees were delicious. DH had the beef tenderloin and I had the pork. It was very good.

Glad you found something you liked at The Wave. We tried their breakfast buffet a few years ago and now it is must. After the Garden Grill it is my 6 year old son's favorite place to eat. We always get the buffed there so we can try a variety of things and their sweet potato pancakes slathered in their maple pecan butter is to die for. We also found the wait staff here to be fantastic with our kids (4 and 6 year old boys).

I have enjoyed reading your reviews and you might have even inspired me to do my own on our upcoming trip in May which is a surprise for the boys as they think we aren't going this year. Although if I do I doubt it will be as fabulous as yours or some others I have read here.

:yay:

The tea looks so delightful! I'm going to have to have a Dis-meet or take a friend though. Not sure I could convince Garret easily, but I especially don't think Landon would sit for that long. Being the only girl is so tough sometimes! princess:

Glad you finally found something you liked at the Wave. Have you been for any meal besides breakfast? I went for dinner and the steak was incredible, but everything else fell pretty short. OH well.

Count me in along with everyone else who's glad you found something you liked at the Wave! Hard to go wrong with a waffle, especially one shaped like Mickey.

The tea at the GF looks absolutely delightful. I wonder if I can talk my non-tea-drinking sister into accompanying me someday. She doesn't even like sweet tea, which is practically unheard of down here. Maybe when my nephew is a bit older (he'll be three next month), he'll be up for an auntie and nephew tea time.

The Wave for breakfast was Bleh. The food was not hot and I think they grabbed it off the buffet. Maybe next time I will try the waffle.
Okay I will have the multigrain. Maybe a little healthier. LOL

I was thoroughly surprised to see The Wave on your list again because I remember your previous experiences. Now you've got me craving a belgian waffle and wondering where to fit it in for our September trip. Cute pic of you and Em--as always.

Yeah, if you can get beyond the fact that there is no magical Disney theming and no windows, it is a great option. And from what I've observed, walk ups are accommodated.

You tempt me to try a different meal here and swap out our usual breakfast. We'll be back at BLT in May so.....we may try dinner. Thanks for sharing.

I've never tried Garden Grill. I can't talk Em or my DH into trying it for some reason. I love Chip/Dale so I'm in. As for the buffet option, my DH loved it but I've not been tempted to try it yet.

Thank you for reading! I encourage you to share your dining experiences! New dining reviews are always welcome. But more than anything, I hope you enjoy your trip.

Ha ha! I definitely am not doing tea next time since it is just me and my DH. I don't think I can bribe him for that one.

I've not had any other meals at The Wave. You are the second person that has said that. Between you and Sue you are making me curious.

People are probably saying, why didn't I try the waffle sooner since I love waffles.

Even if someone is not a big tea drinker, try it. You can order another beverage from the bar such as a cocktail, soda, or chocolate milk. The servers will let you try a few kinds of tea to see if there is one you like so if that helps at all.

That's what I said before my waffle. Definitely the multi-grain version is healthier. I'd just be tempted to slather it in butter and drench in syrup but that would defeat the purpose.

I was thoroughly surprised to see The Wave on your list again because I remember your previous experiences. Now you've got me craving a belgian waffle and wondering where to fit it in for our September trip. Cute pic of you and Em--as always.

Yeah, sometimes I make sacrifices for my kid. Em's a the Wave fan so this was booked for her. But see? A good deed turned out well.

Let's see, you have a March trip, a May/June trip, and a September trip? You just may be able to squeeze it in somewhere. :)
