The night before you leave...

im with the others on minimizing excitment. got toget through the night with some sleep first! but in the airport the next morning, on the plane, disney disney disney music! Now that i have an ipod its even better. And if i fly Song, i just listen to their disney station on board.

We like to play the "Magic Kingdom" board game the night before we leave for a WDW trip

I read the unnoffical guide to Disneyworld cover to cover. I write down all the places we will eat at and make ressies. I select a special book for the plane. I also purchase a new special outfit for the plane and do not wear it until that special morning...the only time I DON'T mind getting up at like 3:30am!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

I'm getting so excited just reading about all these little rituals!

I can't really remember much about my previous trips, but I am so excited about the whole 'travel to WDW' part this year:

Mon - Dec 5 2005 Not sure I'll be going to Uni today (the term isn't over until Dec 16 2005). Either way, there will be packing, and excitement!
Tue - Dec 6 2005 Drive up to Gatwick airport and check-in (undecided on Twighlight or DIY yet). Overnight at the Hilton.
Wed - Dec 7 2005 Flying to MCO + ASMo - will either go to MK EMH or DTD when we get there. Depends how we feel.

:goodvibes

We usually downplay it too or our already hyperactive DD would be impossible. As it is she will be up too late because of her excitement (and our flight out is at 6:00 a.m.). But this year my oldest thought it would be cool to wear the Disney shirts we wore the day we came home last year on the flight down this year so that's what we plan for this year.

Our tradition the night before we leave is me running around like a maniac trying to finish packing, while my fiance plays with the dog. He has to get his fix before we leave! :pug:

We normally try to have a relaxing evening and spend time double-checking the suitcase, watching old vacation videos, etc. This year we've got tickets to see Disney on Ice--the Incredibles. What originally seemed like a fun idea has turned into a crazy one--our plane departs the next morning at 6:45 a.m. instead of our originally scheduled 2:50 p.m. flight. I'm not so sure how a late evening at an ice show will factor into getting up early to catch a flight. It should be fun to see the show though--I saw the commercials on the show and the premise is that the Incredibles visit DW. It will be so neat to say to DS6 "Tomorrow we'll be on that ride".

We make sure that we're all packed and ready. I'll go over last minute planning. Also, we'll watch a video of WDW/DL for the last time before we start on our trip.

Our traditions start 2 nights before.

2 nights before we leave, we watch Cinderella.

The day before we leave, we usually go to work. Bags are packed after work. Then we close up the windows and shades and put the lights on timers. Then we take the dogs to my parent's house. Then we stop at McDonald's for dinner. Then we come home, and fall asleep while watching Peter Pan.

Nothing says Disney to me like that routine! :)
