Slow day here, huh?
Mrs. Milo- thanks for the comments about you're cable modem, I called today and talked to them and went ahead and scheduled installation for digital tv and cable modem for 8/20. Strange thing is it's actually gonna save me money! I have Dish Network now and DSL through the phone company and I have no access to my local TV channels. When they install the digital service to my TV I will still have all my channels I watch and my local channels (plus the cable modem/ internet service) for about $10.00 more than I pay for Dish now and I won't need my DSL service which runs about $50.00/month so I'll save money! (To use towards Disney, of course!)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Talk to ya'll soon!

Hmmmppphhhh on Shellie.

Cause she got the cable modem thingie, we had to do it, too. Our DSL Fast Access was perfectly fine, but, the boys wanted the digital cable, and, since we only had plain ole cable. decided we should so this thing too. Cost is about the same as we are paying now for DSL and regular cable, so I guess it could be considered a free upgrade (and we all know how neat those are ;) )

I won't need my DSL service which runs about $50.00/month so I'll save money! (To use towards Disney, of course!)

AFTER she pays her poor old mom all monies owed her, of course.;)

Oh, I'm sorry--I forgot....

Hi all and Happy Sunday! ( I wanna learn to be nice like Ann and Teri...)

It seems as if it's now my turn to talk to myself.

Having a wonderful  day "dejunking. So far (much to the future chagrin of our trash collectors and delight of the Goodwill) we have dejunked our bedroom (yes--closets included)
the upstairs hall closet, and both bathrooms. My next mission is this room. Should I say "challenge" instead of mission?

Hope your day is more enjoyable!

Taking a slight break from "dejunking" after just carrying 5 loads of hardback books down to the basement (the room I am cleaning is on the 2nd floor---two flights of steps up and down carrying books---ouch! huff-puff--ouch! huff puff)

That's it for me til the next time I feel a need to talk to myself

Hi everyone. I have had a busy weekend and now am at work - joy joy. :) Hi Shellie - nice to see you here with us. :)

I am moving in Spetember so I am beginning to pack everything up but first I am going through everything to get rid of a bunch of junk. What a chore. I hate packing up but I think I will hate unpacking more.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

Christine, I really feel for you.....moving. I hate, hate, hate to move.
We've lived here 10 years and I still shudder remembering that move. Now, add 10 years worth of "stuff" to it....***Shudder***

Guess all of our compadres are still out doing what they do.
Don't work too hard today!

Thanks for posting--least I'm not just talking to myself anymore.

De-junking? It would take me ......years....... I shudder at the thought. A mere shelf or closet or cupboard or even a corner of the floor in certain bedrooms of this house seems insurmountable...becasue I seem to just put the junk somewhere else to de-junk it "later"
Stepson #3 got himself his first apt and is moving out of DH's ex's house next month to go to school and be grown up. I may be able to de-junk part of the basement by giving him furniture, curtains, assorted household items and stuff!:teeth:

I would not let you talk to yourself for too long. :) I know it is raining pretty good in the Jacksonville area so hopefully George & Teri are taking their time getting home, they are coming home today??

I have lived in my studio (small - no bedroom) apartment for 4 1/2 years now. When I first moved in there I had practically nothing. My bed, a dresser, tv/stero and the other necessities. Over the 4+ years I have accumulated a computer table, 2 shelves, a kitchen set, a table and chair set on the back porch and lots of other stuff so I really do not look forward to moving all of this downstairs!!! I think that I have triple the stuff that I moved in with.

*sigh* I am nowhere near catching up to Teri or Debbie on this thread. :jester: :p

I still have tons of "junk" that I don't know what to do with. You know the kind of stuff--"I'm not using it right now, but, I might use it again in the future" kind of stuff.

Linens.....I have 7 or 8 different dust ruffles for my bed. Unknown quantity of quilts (most with matching shams), curtains and throw pillows for my room and curtains for the kitchen and what was Michelle's room when she lived here.72" round tablecloths by the gross. Comforters ranging in size from twin to king.Of course, most of them can't be used anywhere because of room color changes. And sheets??? I don't even want to think. At least 50 towels. It's really ridiculous. But, I bargain shop and when I find a bargain, I just have to buy it. I'd be rich if I hadn't spent so much money to save money over the years..

Ann--nice of you to drop in...

Remember this song:

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Livin' alone
I think of all the friends I've known
When I dial the telephone
Nobody's home

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore

Hard to be sure
Sometimes I feel so insecure
And loves so distant and obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
All by myself
Anymore

When I was young
I never needed anyone
Making love was just for fun
Those days are gone

All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
All by myself
Don't wanna live
Oh
Don't wanna live
By myself, by myself
Anymore
By myself
Anymore
Oh
All by myself
Don't wanna live
I never, never, never
Needed anyone

I dont want to be here allllllll by myself . . . . . here on the DIS boards....alllll by myself. ;)

Uh, Ms.....?????????? I don't think you're all by yourself.

Oh yeah I know all about that kind of junk. :) I have lots of it and just hate to part with it cuz I know someday I will need it. :teeth:

I come back here to find you guys talking about JUNK  & me

This is so true. Can we talk about those that are not here . . . . lets say like *ahem* Debbie *ahem* lol

Hi, Debbie!!!
Welcome back! How was the camping?? If it was anything like the weather here, it was way too hot....

Hope you guys had a good time though.

PS--Ann wouldn't let us talk about you. She told us to behave.

just kidding :teeth:

Just got back from our little camping trip. We had a good time except for the campground giving our sites away and having to give us ones without sewers .....water and electric only....cuz thats all that was left....

oh and the drunk woman next door that wanders from campfire to campfire looking for some attention if you know what I mean. This drunk went to the site next to ours....there was 3 young couples over there. The wives had all gone to bed...finally 2 of the guys went to bed leaving one guy left sitting outside. This drunk woman stayed there with him and then she stood up in front of him and ....well it looked kinda odd what she may have been doing.....although we would have never guessed

anyway then she staggered into our site and started telling us how to twittle our thumbs....said something about my DH's thumb being hard  .....then she proceeded to tell us how she had just had to show herself...you know flash the guy next door....then she starts asking who is with whom.....you know who was whos wife.....there were other couples with us. She leans into my husband and asks if I am with him? I told her YES and she says OH, thats the way I like it
well the rest can not be told on this family board  but she was HIStory in a matter of seconds  and we canceled future resssies at this campground..... It seems this drunken ....er....um ...I can't say what she is here...but you get the picture.....she is a seasonal site owner....so if we went back she would have been there still !!

Other then that we enjoyed ourselves ! :)
