The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Hi girls. I started a class with Natalie called Kindermusic. It is a 45 minute class that you sing and play with your baby. She loved it!! She has not been around other babies yet and the look on her face when she saw other little ones was so cute. I wish I had a camera with me. Next week she will be 7 months! Where has the time gone? She seems so close to crawling, right now she only goes backwards. She stays on her hands and knees and rocks. Are cold weather is finally gone. Yipee. We are able to take our daily walks again. It has been in the upper 40's to 50's all week. Next week we are going to be in the low 60's:banana:. Hope everyone is having a great week.

I'm in the same boat. Isabelle has never really been around other babies, and we took her to the baby lapsit at the library, and she LOVED it! We knew she'd enjoy the music and books because she loves them at home, but I just wasn't expecting to see how curious she was about all the other babies. I know where we'll be Tuesday nights from here on out. :)

Hi,
We love those classes too. We've been taking DS26m since he was about 5m old to the library for music classes. We just enrolled them both in Music Together at the end of summer and they loved it. I can't wait for the next session to start.

:headache: ARGGGGGh! I just typed a lot and my computer froze.

I haven't seem much on slickdeals since Christmas or once I see it the price is back up. I did see NFL piggy banks that are really cute.

I'm going to Orlando in a few weeks. Spending one night at POP and the rest off site. This trip will have one Magic Kingdom day, mostly since Lilliana will be able to ride with us on most rides. Plus DS5 loves it there:love:The rest will be Universal and relaxing.

Not sure if anyone is planning Universal anytime soon, the ticket prices are going up. They are doing away with the $99 7 day ticket. They are making the ticket structure more like Disney. The Universal Orlando site has the new prices but some of the ticket brokers have the $99 - They should have and expiration date.

I saw those! Almost got the Browns one, but my Lilliana got a piggy bank for Christmas, and I didn't want to get her 2!

Can't wait to hear about the trip! I figured the prices for Universal would go up because of Harry Potter...I'll have to go see how much. We won't be going there for at least 5 years, so it would be a waste for us now.

Glad to see everyone using their library! ;) Lily has her first playgroup on Monday and Kindermusik (free demo) on Tuesday. Storytime starts here in February. I do the baby group so she'll probably have 2 or 3 storytimes a week. At least when I can get DH to bring her. I'm sure my mom will bring her on Wednesdays. Should be interesting.

I am glad to see some of you like these kind of classes too. I really was shocked how much she liked it. It is also fun for the Moms too.:thumbsup2

I somehow doubt they have anything like that around here. I don't have any idea how to even check, though??

I always use the Washington County (Ohio) library programs and skip the West Virginia ones completely. They're not as good. :rotfl:

Sometimes, you think that your going to have this:

But you end up having to deal with this:

Two minutes later, they were wrestling and the doll had her pinned.

Well!! I did the WIC thing today.

I had to talk to like 5 people?! Crazy, crazy, crazy.

I guess I misunderstood the lady. They gave me vouchers for 3 months.

We now get:
7 Cans of formula (Similac in WV)
3 Boxes of Gerber Cereal
32 Jar baby food
$10 Fresh Fruit/Vegetables
36oz big people cereal ;)
3 containers frozen juice (soooo strange but it has to be the frozen stuff)
4.5 Gallons milk
1 Quart milk
1 dozen eggs
2 choices of 1lb dry beans or peanut butter or 4 cans of beans
1lb of cheese
1 loaf of bread

It is insane how much they give you!!! I know you guys posted what you got earlier but I'm still just amazed.

sbell those pics are wonderful. Sarah is gorgeous!!

It's been warmer here so Lily has been out shopping the last 3 days in a row. :-) With her aunt on Thursday, me yesterday and daddy today. DH is bringing her by so I can feed her at work.

This past week has been really really good. I'm feeling a lot better about mom-hood. I think it'll be even better once the weather really gets better.

Yesterday we went to the mall so I could spend my Gymbucks and I got this:
140061328

It's way too expensive, but super cute for our WDW trip in August.

Ughhhhhhhhh! I am SO DONE with my DH's family!!

We were just told that the reason they're not happy (about us having another kid) is because we can't/don't take care of Lucas.

For the following reasons:
1) We don't feed him table food. (note: Christmas dinner they tried to get us to give him mashed potatoes, I refused because Lucas has a milk allergy and there is milk/butter/etc. in mashed potatoes.)
2) We don't give him enough solids. (note: This judgement is based on MIL's only overnight keeping of Lucas whenever he was about 4.5m old and we were following the pediatrician's orders to NOT feed solids until 6 months and then introduce slowly [esp. because of Lucas' allergies])
3) I only gave him two bottles at Christmas dinner. (note: Lucas ate a bottle on the way to dinner and we were only there for 4 hours. 2 bottles was more than enough. My 22lb,28" long 6.5m old is not underfed like they claim.)
4) My MIL had to tell me that Lucas had a dirty diaper at Christmas. (note: My MIL was holding him.)

I will never win with this family. Luckily, DH is just as fed up as I am. I mean COME ON!!

We take Lucas to one of the most highly reguarded pediatricians in town. You have to apply to become a patient and not everyone is accepted into the practice. The pediatrician is thrilled with Piglet's growth, temperment, etc..
Whenever DH told his brother that we were following the pediatrician's recommendation on solid foods his brother's response was "Well he doesn't know WT*F he's talking about."
Yes. The kidless concrete mason who barely graduated high school knows more about the proper way to raise a child than the pediatrician. Sure.

People just amaze me!

Patsy, I'd be through, too. My family doesn't agree with how I do much of anything with Katie, but they know I'm too hard headed for them to change my mind! And they know that I am a good mother, even if I don't do things their way. His family is being very disprespectful to you.

I've had the week from hell. I worked all week, started my new class, and studied as best as I could for the 2 Praxis exams I took this morning. And I was so sick all week. I was having the "auras" again, and freaking out. I did call dh's cousin, a nurse practitioner, and ask if my sinus problems could cause them, and she said they could. Thankfully, I started feeling better yesterday with my sinuses, and the auras went away, too. My house was a disaster, we were almost out of clean clothes, and towels, and I was at my wit's end.

I took the tests today, and think I failed both of them. They were awful! Nothing like what I had heard from others, or what I had concentrated my studies on. And to top things off, my father just called from a relative's house (my mother's 1st cousin), and their son was just found dead in his truck on the side of the road, apparent heart attack. His wife called the younger son (my age) and had him go to tell their parents. He called their preacher on the way, and the preacher called my parents to meet him there. Daddy was crying, and I couldn't stand it and went to pieces.

On a brighter note, dh is on the good list right now. I got home thinking the house would still be a disaster and Katie would be hysterical. I was gone from 6am until 2pm. Instead, Katie was asleep, and my house was spotless! He did 4 or 5 loads of laundry, swept, mopped, did dishes, made the kids clean their rooms-everything!

Ohmygosh! Way to go DH!!!!!!!!

Mine just fed Lucas pears. I can't imagine why. :rotfl:

I'm sorry about the Praxis, that is a major bummer! I haven't even gotten close to being able to take it so pardon my ignorance.. but can you re-take it? Is it pricey every time you try?
I hope you did better than you think.

I took 2-one in counseling (my masters program), and one in library media. I think they were $60 each, plus a registration fee. It was pretty close to $200. I can take them as many times as needed, but I can't graduate until I pass the counseling one (the library one was just extra-in hopes that a combined counseling/librarian position will open at the middle school next year-the principal and I have been plotting!). I just hate the thought of failing and having to do it all over again! I haven't had any library classes, but the librarian at school gave me all her notes, and I went online and found more. I memorized Dewey Decimal system, ALA website info, books, authors, laws, awards......about 10% of the test came from that. The rest looked foreign to me! I did great on my counseling practice tests, and looked over my notes from my classes, but about half of that seemed to come out of left field, too.

I'm just glad it is over. I won't know if I passed for 4 weeks, but I'm trying hard to not think about it! I need to check the registration dates for the next test......
