The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

We are back from our check-up. Natalie is doing GREAT! She weighs in at 16.6 pounds and is 25 3/4 inches long. The ped. thinks her tooth will be in by Christmas. I think so too. We got our shots and she only cried for about 1 minute. Not as bad as last time. We didn't get any extra shots for the flu this visit.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. It will be here in 4 days:scared1:

I can't believe Christmas is almost here!

Dd10 and I had the best day today. We needed some mother/daughter time, without Katie getting the attention. So Katie went to daycare, and we went to the ortho (great checkup-only needs her retainer at night now), to see The Princess and the Frog (wonderful movie!!!!!), and to the Cracker Barrell for lunch. I gave her an early Christmas present, an apron with her name on it (a Minnie Mouse one from Disneystore.com), and tomorrow we are making Christmas cookies. Katie is going back to daycare so I can clean and work on some of my schoolwork (I have a 300 hour practicum that ends in March-need to write 20 essays, some lesson plans, and type up 3 mos worth of counseling hours!). dd10 is in the best mood-she really just needed some individual attention. She was the baby for over 9 yrs, so she has had to make some really big adjustments.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay~

I feel sorta lame being this excited but I finally have a degree!! :rotfl:

I've always put school in the background and finally took the last class I needed this semester to get my AS in Business Administration.

I don't really want a business degree but the bank paid my tuition if I took business classes and so that is how I started. I realized this last semester all I needed to get the degree was Speech (which I also needed for my education program) so I took it this semester and I finally have a degree. :yay:

I've been chipping away at school for 9 part-time semesters (except for this last one which I was full-time) and it feels good to finally have something to show for it. One of those was abroad though so I guess it doesn't count.

Anyway, woohooo!! :yay::yay:

Congrats!:banana: All that hard work paid off. :cool1:

Congrats Patsy!! That is so awesome!

Ann we always love updates, even if you can't get around here too often. We're all very busy right now, no worries!

december sounds like you had a great day! It must have been so special for you both!

I've been dealing with drama, maybe I'll share after Christmas! Lily's stuff from gymboree finally came and it's awesome! i'm so glad they were out of the size I thought I wanted, because the smaller size fits perfectly.

I probably won't be back until Monday, so I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!

Congrats on the degree! My minor is in business. I think it is always good to have on a resume, no matter what you go into!

Katie is so happy this afternoon! Dd10 is sneaking up on her, playing peek a boo, etc., and she is giggling hysterically! I wish I had a camcorder now! Dd10 is getting one from Santa, so we'll have it covered soon!

Today is my 14th wedding anniversary. We've actually been together for almost 22 yrs (February). Some days I could kill him, but I don't know what I'd do without him!

***Sarah, just saw your post. I hope everything is ok and you have a great Christmas!

As a fellow student, I am so happy for you! :cheer2:What a great accomplishment...I can't wait to get mine too!

My little girl just started crawling lastweek the same way. So cute  Now she is into everything and I need to start baby proofing the house.

WooHoo is right! Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Merry Christmas everyone! I can't believe it is here! We are all so lucky to have new little ones to share the magic and joy with this year!

I switched some things around, so Katie is getting her princess pony, doll and stroller (the stroller is also a walker for Katie), and a laptop. I can't wait to see her reaction to it all!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Ours was wonderful, other than me being sick and completely losing my voice (Merry Christmas to DH:rotfl2:).

My most exciting part of the week came yesterday when I convinced DH and MIL/FIL to reschedule (from the Thanksgiving trip we had to cancel) our Disney vacation. Check out my new ticker below! I am sooooooo excited and so happy to tell you all, as you are the only ones who would understand!:rotfl:

Congrats-I know you are excited about the trip! I called this morning and changed my 7 night with the 30% off code to a split stay-5 nights with the new package deal and the $500 discount, plus 2 nights with the code. I spent $75 extra, but I upgraded to full dining from the quick service plan. I was planning to pay for one character meal oop, so we come out cheaper in the end!!!!

Merry Christmas, Mommies!:santa:

I hope Santa was good to you all! We had a wonderful first Christmas with Tessa - and she took her first steps today at my sisters house while we celebrated with her family.

Lisa - I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!! What a fun way to celebrate Luca's b-day!!! Congrats.

December, thanks for the inspiration. I am going to take my eldest on a date Tuesday.

Hope you are all doing awesome!

Things have been crazy here....I went to work "pt" after being home for 8 years and we are not adjusting well ... it is an advertising sales position for a magazine "work from home" is maybe not meant for a woman with three kids.....and there is a TON of mommy-guilt b/c of Baby Tess .... her sisters never had to go to a babysitter and now she goes two half days a week. I need to get over this, right? she is going to my two best friends homes where we would be anyway ....

Wow! Sounds like we need to catch up Kellie! Remind me to send you my phone number! You'll just want to wait a while, as I still have no voice.:rotfl:

How cute that Tessa took her 1st steps!!! It's so exciting. Today was the first day that Luca walked on his own, meaning he was on the other side of the room and decided to walk to me. It was kind of cool at first. Then I realized that I'm in trouble!!!:scared1:

NO MOMMY-GUILT ALLOWED!!!!!!!!!

Hey everybody! I think this is the quietest it's been around here in awhile! :)

Lisa, that is so awesome about your trip! I am totally jealous and full of trip-envy!

DH had more crappy mood attacks.. first one on the 23rd, that continued to Christmas Eve. Then another on Christmas. I flat-out told him I loved him and I was sorry he had problems but that if he didn't get his stuff together by the time Lucas is 1, we're leaving. I told him he's not going to do to Lucas what he's done to me because Lucas wouldn't understand that his daddy has a mental issue and that is why his daddy is calling him names and telling him he hates him.

I can't believe Luca and Tess are taking their first steps! Man. Time flies!!

It's my laundry day today but I might pop back and post pictures if I find the camera charger later.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

:hug:I'm so sorry, Patsy, but I'm glad you are standing up for yourself.

I'll try to post some pics later, too. Katie is at daycare, and I'm cleaning again. I cleaned all last week, but as of this morning you couldn't even tell it! I've got the rest of the house done, and just need to finish my room and find places for the baby's stuff. step-mil bought her clothes from 9 mos up to 4T!!!! Where am I supposed to put it all???????:confused3

I think I'm entering the daycare world! I called a local one today to inquire about part-time rates. The director is going to call me back tomorrow but the lady on the phone was optimistic. She said they aren't anywhere near full so the lady should accomodate me!

I'm hoping that she takes the weekly rate (only $110 for under 2!) and divides it by 5 but I doubt it. If so, it's $22 a day and DH's work will pay 41%.. so cheaper than paying my SIL $20 a day.
Plus, I can leave him there longer to work on school stuff and I won't have to deal with her in my house reporting back to my MIL about everything.
BIL and her moved waaaay out.. about a 40 minute drive.. so DH and I are hesitant to rely on her to get here on time and such so sounds like daycare is the way we will go. She made me late for my final. gr.

december, it's okay. I'm good with it now. The VA diagnosed him as bipolar about a year ago but then took back the diagnosis and did PTSD. I think they were right the first time and he has an appointment on Monday and he's finally seeing that he will probably need medication. So in my book, things are great.
He told me, during one of his moods, that I should be grateful I don't have it as bad as I could. He could be physically abusive, alcholic, etc. and I laughed and told him if he were I wouldn't be stupid enough to stick around at all. That I'd of been gone many months ago. He just stared at me like he'd never thought about that before. Such messed up logic! I should be happy semi-miserable because I could be really miserable? Uh, no. I don't think so. lol.

Hi everyone!

Christmas was it's ususal insane self this year. Lily didn't get nearly as much junk as I expected, which made me very happy. The family decided that everyone HAD to get together on Wednesday at 8pm. Dh and I said no way. So they made it at 6:30. So we had three straight days of Christmas. By Christmas day Lily was a whiney wreck and I had had enough. So we left before I even had the chance to eat. Thank goodness my parents were there or I might have lost it. They understand that I have some social issues at the best of times and I always have issues with DH's big crazy family get togethers at Christmas. Add a 5 month old and it's a recipe for disaster.

I was hoping to hand her off to everyone, but in the last couple of weeks she's developed this crazy stranger fear. And it's heightened by too many people crammed into one room. So mommy got to hold her for 3 straight days while daddy filmed the whole thing. Can't wait to see that video! lol

So I'm still grumpy. I feel like such a Grinch. I know DH's family thinks I'm grumpy and moody, but they always see me at my worst. Hopefully next year will be better.
