The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

Speaking of filming, I don't think I posted about our Christmas disaster! All dd10 asked for from Santa was a camcorder and stuff to go with it. So Santa looked and looked and found her a purple camcorder, tripod, dvds, memory cards, etc. She had gotten some Zhu Zhu pet stuff from my parents, and loved it, but from us she was getting clothes and things, and the camcorder stuff from Santa. Well, Christmas morning, she comes tearing to the living room grabbed the box, and the camcorder fell out onto the tile floor! The screen busted all over-ruined! She and I both cried. I started cooking breakfast, but felt so bad for her. The other 2 were playing with their stuff (Katie loved everything!) but dd10 had nothing fun to play with.

Then I remembered that I had lucked out and found her the "rare" (you'd have to be following the Zhu Zhu pets thread):rotfl: pink girl hamster!!!!!! I had wrapped it and stuck it IN the tree, since I was out of room around it! So I told her to go search the tree, and she was all smiles again! Thank goodness for that $10 hamster........

I contacted Amazon, because the thing should NOT have been that fragile, and they sent UPS to pick it up today. They are out of them, but I should be getting a refund.

I think the AR stuff Sarah

So not the Premium stuff they send us in the mail? Just wanted to make sure before I send her my checks.

I read about this on the Zhu ZHu thread. I felt so bad for your DD, I can't even imagine. Glad Amazon is coming through for you though.

I wanted Jilly too but I didn't think DS5 would want a pink hamster. He did get the yellow and white one (can't think of it's name right now) and said she needs a pink blanket and bed. :)

I am glad Christmas is over though. Lilliana didn't get much, a lot of clothes and a few toys. DS5 seemed to get bored, he got so much stuff since his birthday was Christmas Eve. I need to cut back but I found so many great deals this year I couldn't resist.

Does he love his hamster? She adores hers! She talks about them like they are real! She is going shopping with mil Wed (her Christmas gift was a future shopping trip, to get whatever she didn't get for Christmas), and has a list of all the Zhu Zhu stuff she wants.

I will be alone with Katie Wed night, and maybe Thu. Dd10 will be with mil at least Wed night-I haven't decided if I'm going to make her come home or let her stay a 2nd night. Dh and ds12 are going to deer camp with his father and brother, about 2 hours away. They are staying Wed and Thu night. I know we'll be fine, but I won't get anything done!

DS does love his Zhu Zhu's. It's funny, I brought him with me to TRU a few weeks back and he helped me pick Mr. Squiggles out. He treats them as if they are real, calls himself Daddy, tucks them him. It's so cute:goodvibes

Sarah, that doesn't sound like much fun at all. I think I would have used Lily's stranger-fear as an excuse to bail out early.. but thats kinda how I am! lol.
I wonder why some babies are ..."ohhhhhhhhh new person! lemme at em!" and others are like "AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I saw Zhu-Zhu pets at our local TRU the week before Christmas. They looked neat! I almost bought one for my neice but I'd already gotten her a gift...
Ugh! DH's family steams us both. They ALL swore no Christmas. They had no money, etc. but it didn't sit right with either of us so we got something small-ish for them all and 4 gifts for my neice.
MIL gave us three gifts each with $50 in our cards, plus BIL/girlfriend gave us 4 gifts! We were like, how is this no Christmas?! DH and I were both a bit irritated because if they'd not so adamently refused against Christmas we'd of gotten them traditional gifts! I guess I know for next year!

Lucas made out on Christmas! He got another gift from my brother but this one was a Koala set... and they set "Papaw Lucas nappy cream" or something. I'll have to dig it out. Claire (his gf) said that Australians swear by it. I'm not sure if she knows Lucas has bad rashes or if she sent it because of his name. They sent me an Australian pearl bracelet.. very pretty.

Lucas has been absolutely wonderful lately. I have no idea what has gotten into him!! He is ALL smiles and giggles and ticklish and playing with his toys and just having a ball. He cracks me up but he's been so wonderful lately DH and I are wondering if MIL slipped him something... (kidding..kinda!)

Lucas on his way to my Aunt's on Christmas Eve.

Somewhere around here I have the USB from where we took him to Santa.
It was $24.99 to just buy a flash drive of the pictures with a copyright release on it. So I did that. And they took multiple pictures and let me pick my favorite 3 images! :)

Sarah, thanks so much for thinking of me.

We are having a time with Jake. He has been constipated since he was 2 months-- but serious constipation (poop harder than any human/animal stool ive ever seen) since 3 months. He will be 16wks tomorrow and i cant take it anymore. We have done karo syrup, juice, and perscription laxitives and nothing has worked. He has hemroids and once i saw blood-- i drew the line and demanded a GI specialist. We went and they changed him to Good Start Soy and said that it was probably a milk allergy. He has been on that for 1 week today and he is still very constipated. They said to give it 2 weeks and we should see 50% improvement, if not- we have to go to Allimentum. Im worried because this is the point where we start baby food-- and if he is constipated this bad on reg. milk-- then what. I blame myself because we had to start rice in his regular Enfamil Lipil bottles to thicken them at 6wks. Im afraid it hurt his stomach...

He goes into the hospital on the 8th for a Barium Swallow (they told me it was a Bairum Enema but the paper orders say Swallow). Apparently he swallows something that you make concrete like casts out of, and then they watch it travel from mouth to exit. Im scared a little... not knowing exactly what to expect. He does poop on his own, but only a small ball (very hard) and we have to stimulate him to help him empty himself out with a suppository nearly every single day. We wait until he gets uncomfortable. He does go on his own everyday, like I said-- but this assisting him makes me nervous that he might lose his ability to go on his own.

the 8th seems so far away.... ahh!

We go back to his reg. doc on the 14th and then the GI doc on the 15th for results and follow up. At that point we see what we have to do about formula.

I am so happy to see everyones babies progressing. Crawling seems so far away! But so exciting. I know it will be here for us before we know it!

Oh Maggie, how terrible. Life is sooo hard for me with Lily who is completely healthy and mostly happy, I can't even imagine dealing with anything like that.

I have Good Start checks too. Do you want me to send you everything? Or should I send the Enfamil to someone else? I think I have around $30 of Enfamil checks.

We have switched formulas so many times I dont know what to say. I dont think we will be going back to Enfamil.... I think from now on we will either stick to Good Start Soy (if it kicks in and helps) - or go to Similac Allimentum (which is expensive and ill be worshiping those who send me those checks- lol).

Jake is so happy-- really, you would never know anything is wrong except when he starts to go to sleep... I can tell when I need to "poop him" with a suppository because he raises his legs and passes wind every few minutes and he acts as if it hurts him. So then he poops and is able to rest. We do this once or twice a day. Im so ready for relief... first the reflux (which is now under control- knock on wood- partly probably because i put him on his stomach to sleep now- bad mom i know)-- and now this. This is worse than the reflux ever thought of being because I remember just after having him how it hurt to 'go'- i cant imagine for a just shy 4mos old to not be able to go... and it happening for over a month- plus hemmroids. At this age we can gripe, complain, cope, and get stuff to help-- and his age he is helpless and we have to play a hurry up and wait game.

I appreciate it so much Sarah. Thanks again, for thinking of us!

Maggie-- Stacy's kidlet, CJ, is on Allimentum.

Anyway, she got her insurance to cover it. Check with your insurance company for sure! I know they don't all (mine has a line in it that specifically states that they don't have benefits for anything I can buy OTC) but it's worth a shot. If they'll pay for it I'd probably try him on it just to see if it helps (especially since you wouldn't be paying). I've heard/read a lot of babies are really helped by it!

I hope he starts to feel better soon. Good Start stopped mailing me stuff awhile ago. :(

wow that is amazing patsy! ive never heard that but i tried to get mine to cover a breastpump so that isnt something id be ashamed to try! i wonder what insurance/?

She has BCBS I think.
Unfortunately, all insurance plans are annoyingly different! It's worth a flip through the booklet or a call to them tomorrow!

I remember they switched CJ right before the trip to Disney (we went the same week!) and she bought some OOP (which they reimbursed her for if I remember correctly) and then they mailed her a whole case.

Hopefully your insurance company will do the same. :)

Kohl's has a pretty good clearance right now.

I just got a "Lil Champ" Frame, 4 PJ sets for Lucas and 3 pairs of pants for Lucas for $33.

Use "extra20" to get an additional 20% off and "nocharge" for shipping to be free.

Patsy, I've been taking stuff in and out of my cart on Kohls for a couple of hours. lol

It's hard to decide! I had a $10 pair of christmas Mickey PJs in there but took them out at the end. If they're still there later I might go ahead and buy them! :rotfl:

Lucas has a tooth! It came from nowhere-- I can see the entire top of it. We've been cuddling today, he's pretty happy if I hold him.
Washclothes/teething rings didn't do anything for him. I gave him some tylenol and it's almost naptime so I'm hoping he'll actually lay down.

:)

Here are some Katie pics from Christmas:goodvibes:

I've been so MIA, but Patsy emailed me on Facebook....

Yes, CJ's alimentum is covered under our durable medical equiptment (speciality medical) benefit. I needed to do it thru my mail order pharmacy only. They are reimbursing me for a couple of cans that I bought ahead of time. He needed to have a specific diagnosis, which came down to...his body wasn't absorbing anything else, so he was puking it back up. some malabsorption thing...don't know what the term is but above is the explanation.

So it doesn't go thru my pharmacy plan it goes thru medical, so I had 20% coinsurance until I met our out of pocket. I have Cigna...I didn't know about it being covered, I was looking at the sampe my pedi gave us while waiting for another appt and another mom told me.

It's worth a shot....and the stuff is 25-30/per can for a small can!! crazy!! btw...if you haven't used it yet, I'll warn you, it's nasty smelling. It makes soy formula smell like roses, but it works. I noticed a difference in cj's spitting within a couple of feedings!

Thanks Patsy! I love Kohl's, but like almost everything else it is an hour away:headache:. I had never shopped them online. With your codes, I spent $43 and got Katie 3 pairs of pants (in 12 mo-her 9 mo are getting snug!), a Christmas nightie and gorgeous outfit for next year (wasn't I just complaining about no storage:rolleyes1), and 2 Star Wars Ts (for ds12 and my nephew to wear to SWW). I may go back and order some more pants for Katie-they are only $3 each!

I couldn't find anything good from Kohls for Alex - he's in that weird 3-6 month/6-9 month size. I did find some Carters for $6 on JCP though...and they have 99c shipping.

DH is home with Alex today. For a full 8 hours. Just the two of them. :teeth: :faint:
Last time the two of them were home alone for only 4 hours and Alex ate 12 oz of BM. Hopefully today will be better - especially since I only left 12 oz for the day (that's all he eats with the sitter!)
