The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

We had a package of newborns that someone had bought us and I refused to waste (even the hospital had him in Size 1's before we left!) and I'll never forget we were down to the last 3-4 and I told DH we were using them! ... one night he was changing Lucas and I heard him over the baby monitor say "I'm so sorry the diaper is tight, buddy, but Mommy is cheap!"

If you want, I can link you to the Rite Aid $5/25 coupon.
I buy whatever I have coupons/can get the best deal with. It's usually Huggies and we've had no leaks with anything (not Pampers, WalMart brand, Luvs, Huggies, etc.)... so I'm going to keep buying like I have been.

I thought 3's seemed like they lasted forever?? Up to like 22lbs or something, right? Lucas is still wearing 1's... sorry I can't help because I plan on just going to WalMart and size swapping when it comes down to it. I asked them and they said there wasn't a problem doing that! Phew.

...I FINALLY got Similac today! They mailed me a sample can of the actual formula he eats (which is going into the pile of stuff for Disney World-- it's travel size! :rotfl:) and 4 $5 checks. I'm so excited, this is the first I've gotten from them!

..also, I went to KMart and their clearance toys are an additional 50% off [there is also a $5/20 coupon floating out there] so Lucas now has Christmas presents... Yes, I have a bit of a problem with sales.
I got:
Leap Frog Baby- Letters with Lulu- $7.50 ($19.99 on Amazon right now)
Leap Frog Baby- Animals with Appy- $7.50 ($25.97 on Amazon right now)
Leap Frog Baby- Shapes with Ella- $7.50
Playskool Busy Ball ChooChoo- $8.00 (originally $21.99)
Playskool Tubby Turtle- $3.50 (originally $9.99)

..and a little Disney Princess "Scribble 'N Store" with markers/activity pad/crayon toppers/glitter/stickers/foam pieces and stencils for $1.50 for my neice for Christmas.

for... $32!!

Ohmygod, I have a diaper problem. We have about 32 Jumbo packages in assorted sizes and 4 cases, too. :lmao:

I had another gallbladder attack last night and DH wanted to take me to the ER... I told him NO because it won't be like before, I won't get sent up to L&D and taken care of quickly anymore. :guilty: ER's take FOREVER!

Yes, I'd say you have a love of diapers. Don't worry, we did the same thing when the grocery store by my dad's house went out of business. I have a closet full of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and Pull-Ups.

What do they plan to do about your GB? You can't go on living like that! I had to wait a month before surgery b/c it wasn't life threatening. They gave me seditives to take during the attacks that didn't kick in for about an hour. I was totally unconscious after taking them. That makes for an interesting work day the next morning.

Before the babies were born, my mom bought us a TON of diapers.. a TON. It took us two months to go through them.. then we stocked up again.. and two months later, we are running low again. They are already in size threes!! But the threes are roomy. Should I get fours next?? Or stick with threes?? We had overdone it with the twos and poor Vinny looked like he was being smashed into bikini underpants. :rotfl2:

I think I am the only one who likes Huggies better then Pampers. Maybe its because they have better coupons. :lmao:

Love the bikini comment. :rotfl2:I think the same thing when I'm trying to get the baby to burp. His poor tummy is getting mashed like he's wearing tight pants. I'm on the Huggie train too. Although we really only use them for the new baby since we have so many, we use 5's for overnights for the 20m old. I've been really happy with the Walmart diapers, surprisingly. I thought they were going to be worse than the Target brand but I think they are better. The tabs stretch instead of being gauze-like and both boys haven't ever had a leak.

My oldest is wearing size 4s in the Walmart brand but 5s in Huggies. At only $13.67 a case I'll stick with the 4s and keep the leftovers for my second. The baby is wearing 1s but we used a few of the samples from Huggies Naturals that were 2s. The 1s say up to 14 but I'll see how far we get with that.

Aww, sounds like a well planned attack on Mommy about the diapers! I feel the same way. Don't want to waste them! You can just put them aside for your next one. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the KMart tip. I haven't been there in forever. We have a really icky one by us that smells like pee (gross I know, but it's true!), so I'll have to travel to the one by my old office.

Totally OT: I went to Aldi for the first time with the boys and I thought I'd just get what we need and take one cart (way too much for one cart, not to mention getting it bagged and put back in the cart). I was going down the first aisle and there was a woman wearing stirrup pants with Croc flip flops! :lmao: Then there was a woman on a Nextel swearing about her ungrateful niece. My oldest kept pointing at her so we went down another aisle to get away from her. She came over and tried to give DS a package of peppers! WTH? She was either totally drunk or a few fries short of a happy meal.

Hey, I figure he'll go through them and I haven't paid full price for any of them. I actually did the math and my couponing/sales makes it .05c a diaper cheaper than buying them at Sams Club in the cases. And it's not like I have anything better to do right now. :rolleyes1
I need to start on Overnites/Pull Ups but I got distracted. KMart here is doubling coupons up to $2 and I have several $2 coupons for Overnites.. I may need to make another trip tomorrow. :rotfl:
I figure even if I overbuy they'll make good gifts. I know 5 people that are pregnant! :scared1:

I had Tylenol 3 to take while pregnant but it stopped working [and isn't technically "safe" during the 3rd trimester anyway] so I'd have to go to L&D and get a Demerol shot. It was the most expensive form of pain relief in my life. :sad2:... but worth every single penny. :upsidedow
I have to go talk to my surgeon again. Apparently having a c-section changes things. "Giving my body time to recover" etc, etc. The earliest he could get me in is July 29th. :scared1: which irritates me a bit because I'd like to get this surgery scheduled and over with!!
Luckily I still have Lortab left from my c-section so I've been taking them when I have attacks... they help a bit.

With Lucas already at 11lbs... I KNOW I'll have size 1's leftover. I still have 4 packages NOT open.. and an open package at my parents, 1 downstairs and another in his room. Plus I opened the case of Huggie's 1-2s (which only go to 15lbs. :confused3) and it has 264 in it! Those 4 packs not open will be gifts I guess. :rotfl:
I still don't know about another one. :guilty: I think a lot will truly depend on what my OB says at my PP appt. on Tuesday. I truly loved her, felt she gave me great care [I LOVE that she stayed with me all night even though the on call OB was there.. she stayed with me...] and I would want to use her again. If she says what some of my research says [18m before I can get pregnant again] then Lucas will probably be it. I don't want them that far apart. But we'll see, she might surprise me! I have also learned in my research that recovering from a PLANNED c-section is much, much easier to recover from than a c-section after labor.. and I had a "hard labor" according to the nurses. So that makes me optimistic! I know mentally I could prepare which would help tons. :goodvibes

Uh, pee? Ick! I don't blame you for not wanting to go there!
I'm going to check out the one by the mall tomorrow. A few people have offered tips to scan anything you want because some stuff doesn't have clearance stickers on it but it's ringing up. I didn't, because I'm so limited on what I could buy anyway (6-9month range) but you've got another kiddo to buy for!
The coupon is here, if you're interested:

*eta* that lady in Aldi sounds a bit creepy... what in the world? People scare me.

Also totally OT: We just discovered Aldi's here since I am no longer providing a second income. Apparently, I'm missing all the fun people at mine. I did see a lady in Wal-Mart the other day who I *thought* must be talking on one of those over-the-ear cell phones, until I got really close and it turned out she wasn't. She was just talking, loudly, to herself. Yikes!:scared1:

Just give it some time. Maybe you missed the regulars on the day you visited! We love Aldi for the basics. $1.49 for milk? I'm there. Our local grocery is $2.99.

Well... We started the babies on Squash today. They FREAK out when they see us eat... especially Jasmine. So we went for it. OMG. I think Jasmine would have thrown down a full jar herself. :lmao: She was so excited.. all snorting and gurgling at me. So cute. Vinny... was less excited. He is such a boy! Lazy little fart. :lmao:

I HAVE to start making my own baby food now. I had a vision of spending a ridiculous amount of money on little jars of baby food. Especially when I saw how much Jasmine ate. And would have continued to eat if I hadnt run out. We THOUGHT she was going to be the little one. Now we see she was just waiting for real food. :lmao:

I want to make all the food for Lucas, too!

I need to start researching....

Ohh.. good. Thanks. I know I have a little while but I figure I can start researching now.

What to do, what to do.. plan my Disney trip or read about making Lucas' baby food? :rotfl:

How is your trip planning going??

Its going.. My mom talked to my sister, and now she is saying that she is maybe going to want to go too.. I dont see how. We are going in May, and my nephew is graduating next year. Plus how are they going to take my niece out for a week?? She is starting high school next year. :confused3 I dont see how they are going to be able to go.. not to mention how are they going to afford it?? I dont know.

I planned a trip to Disneyland for the whole family a couple of years ago.. with no help from ANYONE, and I am NOT going to do that again. Especially at WDW. There is way to much planning for me to handle it. Figuring out what they want to do, and my mom... NOPE. I have four kids now.. I need to worry about what THEY want to do. My husband said that I need to just plan for us, and tell them what we are doing and they can either meet up with us... or not.

Wow.. Sorry about that. My mom just dropped the sister ball on me last night. Giving me a headache imagining all... what?? 11 of us there?? Oy. I totally get my mom wanting all of us to be there together, I just dont want to be responsible for the WHOLE family having fun.
Thanks for the link! I'm planning on making my own food too. Been way to busy lately though!:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 no problem!! I got it from a girl on my twin boards... SHe said it was really easy. She took a couple of hours and made a ton of it!

Oh man, that sounds like a nitemare. I hope it works out... I'd do exactly what your DH says. I hate trying to please everyone-- they're never happy! Never!!

....I'm a little afraid that Lucas just ate 8oz. without even stopping. 8! At 1 month 6 days.
Ohmy we're going to go bankrupt! :rotfl:

I went on a huge trip with all my in-laws last summer to DL and SeaWorld, and I was told to plan the whole thing. I was so excited-spent hours on it. Of course when we got there, they didn't want to do anything like I had planned. But they didn't want to split up either! They wanted to sleep in, and that is not how we do Disney! One morning, I woke up my 2 kids early, left a note, and took a tram to DL. It was the best time of the trip!

Katie is 8 wks old today. This morning, she actually took a 2 hour nap, without me holding her:cheer2:. My house really needed the attention.

Good (very early) morning ladies. I just finished putting Natalie down and it is 12:40 a.m. She turned 3 weeks old today:love: I am off to bed with hopefully a 3 hour "nap" for me. Gald to see everyone is doing well.

We went on a family trip last September, our first grand gathering. We hadn't all been there before everyone had kids so it was fun to plan. I was worried with so many people (17!) that we'd be pulling in different directions. Everyone just went with what they could do and it was totally fun. We're going again this year in Dec with one more additon! :lovestruc Now we're 18 strong.

Ha ha, sounds like we are going to have little chunkers!

Wow, time is really passing me by. Reading how old Katie was made me realize our baby is over 5 weeks old. We don't sleep in either while at Disney. We spend so much time planning and running around getting everything ready the last thing I want to do is sleep in! :) We're out by 8 am usually.

Hey, we could have met for a drink this morning. DS didn't lay down until just after midnight. After falling asleep 10 times in my arms then protesting when I put him in his bed, he gave up. But he slept until 5 which was a blessing, then ate and went back to bed until 8.

Today is my 5 year wedding anniversary. I'm hoping my dad can watch the kids last minute to surprise DH with dinner out. I got DH things that would remind him of our honeymoon. I got him a new polo shirt, new running shoes (he really needed them!), a new weather scanner, and a snorkel set. We both forgot our gym shoes on our honeymoon so we had to go to the wide world of sports store in DD and buy them! We always laugh about that, so I thought that would be a funny way to remind him. The weather scanner because we went during "huricane season", and snorkel set to remind him of the cruise we did for the 2nd half of our trip. I hope he likes it all. I got a awesome wood trunk to put it in (5 year is wood). Can't wait to celebrate!

Happy Anniversary:banana: Sounds like you got your DH some really meaningful things. Have a great evening!!!!!

Well, I had to switch Natalie's formula yesterday. She is now on the Similac for fussy/gas babies. She was on the Advanced but seemed to get really bad gas with it. Not all the time, just a really bad attach of it every other day. Hopefully, this will work. She is now taking 4 oz every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. On the Advanced she could go 4 hours.

We went to the doctor on Monday, she had a rash on her face. It is going away now:goodvibes. Anyway, she has gained some weight. We are now up to 8 lbs 6 oz. This was 3 days shy of 3 weeks.

My parents are coming in again this weekend. So that means I get to take a nice long nap on Saturday:yay: Yipee!!! I just wish I could take a bubble bath. I still have to wait 3 weeks since I had a c-section.

Well, I have to run. I hear Natalie.....

My lilliana has a rash on her face to and is spreading down her neck. She has had it for 2 weeks now, I brought her to the doctor and was told it should go away. It's not getting better, and is slowly spreading. This all happend when I introducted her to formula. I have since stopped... She just turned 6 weeks yesterday and is about 11lbs. Time is going by to fast :sad2:.
