after delivering your little ones, how long were you told to wait before you drove??
I delivered ******lly but then had a tubal the following day. I was told no driving for two weeks!!!!.
I know each Dr. is diff. just curious what others were told.
Ugh. Since I was just discharged yesterday this is very fresh in my mind. The regular OB resident said 2 weeks. The crazy-@ss high risk OB that checked me out before I left said a MONTH! I started to argue with her, and the bi%&h tried to scare me, saying that I had major abdominal surgey & if I got into an accident insurance wouldn't cover it..... I stopped arguing, and made up my mind to drive when I felt ready. After she left I double checked my discharge order & it CLEARLY states no driving for 2 weeks.
Crazy-@$$ bi$&h!! Knowing that I would have babies in the hospital, I think she waaaaaaay overstated, hoping for compliance on the 2 week driving ban. A month is waaaaay excessive and no way in he!! I'm complying with that one. But it pissed me off, as you may have noticed. I found it rather condescending & infantilizing, and if I see her again (and I'm still in an angry hormonal lather about it) I might just tear into her.
Don't you love it when someone who clearly knows less than you about something pretends to know more?! There are a couple of nurses from my last delivery that I REALLY hope aren't assigned to me or the new baby in a few weeks. I was polite 5 years ago, I'm more of an older, crankier, tell-it-like-it-is gal than I was back then. If the opportunity presents itself, I say let her know how you feel. Or at least, if that hospital provides them, fill out a nice feedback card about her. Our hospital is big on those.
Hi,
Well, it's official. We have a football player on our hands. Baby was born at 7lb 15 oz and is now 12lb! Hotveggy, I can't believe it's been 16 weeks. I remember reading your news that the baby came and thinking how far away my due date was. You should be able to keep up your supply with the timing you described. Do you have a big supply daily now? I had really bad engorement issues almost daily with my 1st before my body just evened out towards the end of nursing. Go figure. I would have to get rid of the excess somehow just to be comfortable. I hope you can continue with your plan.![]()
THAT IS HUGE!!!Allie has her 4 month appt in 2 weeks and I guess she is about 13lbs born 6lbs 15.5oz
I am hoping that the BF will continue to work out. I didn't feel engorged during the day yesterday with only pumping once... sometimes i get engorged at night when she sleeps for a long time, but that seems to be less. I think my body is getting used to it. Monday, I pumped at 5am (got about 9oz) and then fed her at 6am and she seemed to get plenty. then got about 8oz pumping at lunch and fed her again at 5pm. I was home today and she ate as usual without any problems. I work again tomorrow and Thursday then will be home for 3 days...we'll see how it goes.
So... Vinny had his first trip to the ER last night.I KNOW!! We give the babies baths every night... right?? Right. So last night, hubby is taking off Vinny's clothes, and there is this giant bug sucked onto his shoulder!!!
OMG. So scary. and creepy. We dont have very many poisonous bugs here... I dont think we have any really. Just a couple. But anyways... We popped it off and cleaned it up and took him to the ER. It was a slow night at the ER.. we were in and out in about an hour and half. That is crazy fast.
We took the bug with us, just to be on the safe side.. and the Dr. said he had never heard of this type of bug biting anyone.. it is a fairly common critter around here.. so he doesnt know what the heck happened. Maybe it crawled into his sleeper and just got stuck on him and decided to have a little nibble or something. It didnt seem to bother him, so they just cleaned it up some more, and sent us home with instructions to come back if it gets worse.
This morning it looks way better... so we are pleased.![]()
I'm confused, do you think that is a ton or what?
I forget how much older they are!
The pediatrician said 11lbs puts Lucas in the 75th percentile. He was in the 80th percentile for the size of his head, haha.
uhhhh! I have to vent. I got my hair cut and highlighted yesterday. The first time I've done anything for myself since Katie was born. I love the color, but I HATE the cut! It looks like a mullet! Why can't they listen to you when you go in for a haircut! I'm going to play with it some tomorrow, but if I can't do anything I'm going to call her and ask her to redo it. I just don't know what she'll do to fix it, other than cut it off. It was all pretty much the same length, to my shoulders. Now I have layers to the crown, she thinned out the bottom (still to my shoulders) and flipped it out. I already have a big head, and now it looks huge!
So... Vinny had his first trip to the ER last night.
Next I need to stock up on diapers. I am down to my last humongous case.
I'm glad it wasn't anything serious and he's doing ok. I hate bugs! That was a fast visit. There is always a wait in our ER.
Ohmygod, I have a diaper problem. We have about 32 Jumbo packages in assorted sizes and 4 cases, too.
I've tried to stock up with sales and using my paychecks before my income disappears. We also have 15 tubs of his formula.
Even worse, I'm going to be taking advantage of Rite Aid's deal right now. Spend $50 on Huggies, get a $25 Rite Aid gift card. Plus you can use Huggies coupons and also print the Rite Aid $5 off $25 coupon and use!!!
(I have a problem, I know!)
I had another gallbladder attack last night and DH wanted to take me to the ER... I told him NO because it won't be like before, I won't get sent up to L&D and taken care of quickly anymore.ER's take FOREVER!
