The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

I completely posted this in the wrong thread. Sorry! I shouldn't be allowed to post when exhausted.

Hopefully that cream will work! I can't imagine having to get him recircumcised!!

It didn't go well...Lucas was content to chill out on a playmat but I didn't finish up in there. I sorta lost motivation halfway through and took a bubble bath. :rotfl:

I did notice I have 8 of those little formula cans and 4 boxes of the single serve formula now (that is what my pediatrician has had for samples!... either the RTF or those single-serve pouches)... so I'm trying to figure out if I want to take a big tub of formula to Disney or a bunch of the small cans, that way I can toss them and the room they take up will be good for souveniers. I need to sit down and do the math, I think.
That got me distracted... as well as trying to figure out how many diapers to take. So instead of finishing the nursery I ended up with a pile for Disney and then I made a pie! haha.

and think...if I ever get my lazy butt to the PO, you'll have 2 more cans! That's always my plan, bring baby stuff w/me and its more room for souvies!! I buy baby food down there, though. I don't want to chance glass breaking or plastic container cracking in the suitcase. But I pack my diapers, wipes, formula etc etc. now with 2 in diapers that I have to bring, that'll be more souvies! I'm not sure which way I'm going with the formula. I do have a couple of small cans, but the way he goes thru formula, I'm planning on taking a small can on the plane (plus 4 -6 RTF ones). I also get the individual 4oz packs of formula and bring those. I used the tupperware type container to hold formula w/my oldest, but it's hard, I had to bring 2 to the parks. I would bring a small can, but the packets are just so quick and compact. That's what we use when we are out and about. I prefill a couple of bottles w/8oz h2o and dump those in.

Pie...YUMMY!!

Yeah, the time the pediatrician had the boxes of 4oz packs, the checkout nurse said "You can take all those if you want, I've got some Ready-to-Feed to put out when they're gone."
I was very happy to take them off of her hands!!
I saved them particularly for Disney, I knew they'd be handy!

I plan to take my tupperware thing full and then use those packs as supplemental formula.. for when the tupperware thing is empty. They are VERY handy. DH put some in a diaper bag once, not realizing I was saving them for Disney, and I had forgotten formula that day (:rolleyes1) so I was grateful to find that little pack hanging out in there. :rotfl: Now I keep a formula check in the diaper bag in case of forgetful emergencies...

If I ever get my bum to the PO you'll have 2 8oz cans and 3 of the 12.9oz cans. :thumbsup2 DH is going to harass me to get there sometime next week to mail a baby gift out to his buddy in Vegas.

I think I've decided I'm going to wait until we get back to start Lucas on food. I might start him on carrots before we go... I haven't decided yet. I don't want to mess with it while we're there but at the same time he is eating tons of formula so if adding some food will help, I want to go for it. I went and bought carrots to make my own food (I read it was the only one widely acceptable at 4months)
He has his 4month almost 3 weeks before Disney so I figure I'll check with the pediatrician and see what he thinks... I figure if I only introduce carrots and I do it so far before we're heading down then if he were going to have any issues with them, he'd of had them before we got there. :confused3
I don't blame you for buying it down there. I wouldn't want the extra stress of glass jars/plastic jars... it's stressful enough trying to remember all the little things everyone will need.
Will you guys have a car?? I think I'm going to have to place an order with Marge @ WeGoShop.

MY LLBean order just got here. The booties are very cute and very good quality.
The sandals are HUGE! I'll have to stick those in a dark closet somewhere and hope DH doesn't find out I ordered humongous shoes for Lucas.
Childrens sizes are sooo strange!

Maggie posted on Myspace that she had Jake!!!

Hopefully she'll post soon and we can see him and hear her birth story! :)

OMG. He is SOOO cute!!

I hope Katie will sleep this weekend. She has always been a good sleeper, and has been sleeping from around 9 or 10 until 5 (when I get her up to nurse before I have to get ready for work) for ages. And she was taking a nap every day after daycare-she'd nurse, then go down for an hour or so. Not this week! No naps, and she has been waking up wanting to nurse all night. I turned in an 11 page paper Monday night at 11, and my midterm last night at 11, so I am a walking zombie right now! She is taking a nap (the 1st afternoon nap of the week) now, so I'm hoping tonight will be back on track, too.

how did Katie do last night?? I hope she got back on schedule for you.

My parents called, they want Lucas. So DH and I are double-dateing with my friend from high school and her husband. Trying out a new mexican restaurant and then going to a local festival, eating carnival food and watching fireworks. :)
This is my friend that miscarried in July. I guess her Dr. gave her the thumbs up to try again.. she is getting a bit obsessive about it. I really hope she gets her +. She started talking about how if she gets pregnant she'd be due June 5th and if she had to be induced she'd pick June 3rd ... since that is Lucas' birthday.
I can tell she is just driving herself crazy with the possibilities and I'm worried about the heartache she'd get if she doesn't get pregnant this month. :(

Anyone else have plans for the weekend? :)

Katie did great! She is making up for lost time with sleep! She slept on and off all evening, just waking up to nurse, and woke up once during the night, then slept until after 6. She was up until around 10, and has been asleep for almost 2 hrs now! I have the front of the house clean (living room, dining room, kitchen), I washed all her bottles and breastpump parts (I run them through the dishwasher during the week, but like to wash them all again by hand over the weekend-a little OCD I know!) And I'm washing and putting away clothes. The house was a disaster, between Katie not sleeping last week, work, and 2 huge grad school assignments! I just looked at ds12, and said the house is clean and it isn't even lunchtime yet-what is wrong with this picture!

I still have to clean the bathrooms (they are looking kind of gross right now!) and my bedroom. The kids got their rooms yesterday.

Last night, I made out my Survey of Math test I'm giving this week, and I still have to make out my Geometry test (already have the Algebra II test ready), so I'm almost caught up with school stuff. I don't have any grad school assignments due for over a week, but maybe I can get a head start on some and not get crazy again next weekend.

Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!:goodvibes

So far it has been a great weekend. Natalie went to bed at 9 and got up to eat at 6:30. She layed back down for about an hour after that. Right now she and my DH are at his Moms. So I have had the whole morning to myself:yay: I went back to bed and slept until 11:00:scared1: It was wonderful.

Holy COW!! Vinny totally slept until 5:30 this morning. He is NOT a good sleeper at all. Wont even nap for more than half an hour. It was SOOO nice to have at least one baby sleeping well. Jasmine has started sleeping like CRAP. I dont know what is going on with them. Everytime I think I have them figured.. they flip the script on me. Dang booger babies!

Emma went to bed at 9pm and is still sleeping. She got up at 3am, insert pacifier and out cold.

Question...was anyone elses first period awful? I don't know if the tubal, baby, or not having one for ten weeks impacted mine...so darn heavy worse than after delivering Emma. I had to cancel a procedure I had scheduled for tomorrow.

Katie slept from 10 until 7:30!:cool1:

I haven't had a period yet, since I'm nursing. I have always heard a tubal makes it worse. I asked my dr, and he said that was an old wives' tale, that women are usually on some form of birth control (like the pill) which lightens the pd, so after the tubal, with no artificial hormones in your body, it feels worse. But he is a man, so who knows! My mother and all my coworkers swore he was wrong.

I am heading to the Catholic Church for my grad class today. It is raining, and dh is sick, so I'd love to stay home, but I need to go. I think dh may have the flu:scared1:! He came home last night aching all over, and went straight to "bed" at around 9. And he wanted Sprite, which he never drinks unless he is sick. He is still asleep now (on the couch-this has been his bed since Katie was born:guilty:).

My first one was much heavier. I took me 10 weeks to get mine as well. I am on bc pills now, so we will see what next month brings.

Oh- Good job Emma.

Katie and I went to the Catholic Church for the 1st time today! Dh was going to keep her, and let me go alone, then come and pick him and the kids up to go to our church. Since he was sick, I decided to leave them all asleep and take Katie with me and skip our regular services. It was really nice-not all that different from my Methodist services. Katie won everyone over really quickly! princess:

I will be getting together some "interview" questions and pm'ing those of you who "volunteered" to help me soon! Thank you all so much!

Patsy, I hope you had a good time with your friends last night!

Thanks! It was a lot of fun. So much delicious food I have been missing out on because of that durn gallbladder! :lmao:
We had fajitas, taquitos, chile relenos, quesadillas, tacos and burritos at the Mexican restaurant and once we got to the festival we had fresh cut fries, fresh lemonade, a funnel cake, cotton candy and a bloomin' onion. Ohmygoodness were we stuffed.
After the fireworks we went to see Whiteout.

It was a lot of fun. DH even invited them to join us on vacation in May! We rented a 2bdrm oceanfront condo and I guess they're going to come along now. It's so exciting to have people to do stuff with!!!

Ann- I had one in July (lucky me) and it was terrible. Not at all like "normal" for me. Painful, heavy, crampy, etc. So you're not alone on the first one being horrible.
