The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

I went out and bought 2 of the Graco ComfortSport carseats from Target this morning. They were $50 each. Pretty good deal and they go from 5lbs to 40lbs. I was thinking about a britax, but wasn't sure about spending the $$$ and I know that graco is a good brand.

I might look into those then.

I am not sure about the money on a Britax either. We have a Graco SafeSeat right now and I'm pretty happy with it.

I'll have to look at their website more in-depth later. I wish we had a Target here, I'd just go! Gah.

Today I am making Baked Ziti and my entire house smells heavenly. :cloud9:

Have a great Labor Day ladies!!! :goodvibes

I'm still kicking myself for not getting the Britax Marathon when Target had them on clearance for 139.99!

Madeline has had a cold since Friday afternoon. I am hoping that Zander doesn't catch it and today is my and DH's 12th anniversary. :woohoo: I guess we won't be doing anything special since she is sick! :guilty:

Zander may have to be recircumcised because one side just won't come unstuck. Patsy, the doctor did undo part of it but she wanted me to work on the rest while he was in the bathtub-makes it easier to pull apart. The poor little guy!

Tiggerstac-how come the DH's won't let us live anything down, but we let them slide on so many things! :rotfl: We at least do have the mommy brain excuse, whats theirs?

MAggie-if you are still lurking, how are you feeling? I will have to check up with you over on fb too!

I ordered one of the uddercovers a few weeks ago (I think it was december that posted it awhile ago-ty!) so I can't wait to get it and try it out1 Thanks for the tip again, Maggie!

I saw on slickdeals that Marshalls (can you tell I like Marshalls!) and possibly Ross may have some Robeez shoes for 9.99 or less. They retail for like $50, and are great shoes for little ones. they are soft soled shoes and very flexible. I may have to go check my Marshalls this week once Madeline starts Pre-K, to save them for when Zander gets a little older and starts walking.

I think we all need to go to Patsy's for some of that tasty-sounding Ziti!

Happy Labor Day (weekend) everyone!

The $50 Graco must just be in store? I can't find it on the website. Are the Britax really THAT much better? :scared1: Target is an hour from me, so I guess I'll wait on another deal! She is already up to about 15lbs, but I'm hoping we get several more months out of her Graco Snugride. I have to get 3 kids in the backseat (and ds12 isn't small!) so I don't want anything too huge.

Poor Zander, ouch!!!

That was a great deal. I would kick myself too. I thought I got a good deal for $179 on a discontinued color.

LLBean has some cute Robeez style shoes for $9.99. I got the pink ones for Emma. They are great quality and really cute. http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/st...entCategory=501997&feat=501997-tn&cat4=501996

Thanks! I just ordered 2 prs (6-12 mos, and 12-18 mos) of the pink ones after reading the reviews. They sound like great daycare shoes! The free shipping code saved me $5.:goodvibes

Mendy, Happy Anniversary!!!!

That stinks about Zander. Poor little guy, I can't imagine that will be much fun for him.

You guys are welcome to come here for some Ziti.. it took awhile so I could maybe have another batch ready by the time you got here. :rotfl:
It was delicious though. I got my kitchen put together (finally!) and so I rewarded myself by trying a new recipe. I loooove to cook!!

Disney Ron, thanks for posting that deal! I think I'll order a pair for Lucas. Just got to pick which ones now.. haha.

My friend sent me a ton of her old baby boy stuff whenever she found out she is having a little girl... and she sent several pairs of shoes but they all look like they've never been worn and I'm thinking it's because they look like they're geared more towards being stylish than practical. She sent a little pair of boots... like, Lugz boots. It was bizarre to me. I don't think I'd have bought something that is hard and laces for Lucas. I can't imagine how much fun that is to put on little squirmy feet. :scared1:

It brought this up as a suggested purchase for me, too.

I'm thinking those will be nice for him to have for around the pool next summer if I might be able to guess the size right... :rotfl:

Patsy, those are a good deal too. I am so afraid to order to many shoes for Emma b/c Luke has XW feet which was a real pain. Hopefully, she does not.

Great deal. Thanks! I ordered the pink ones in 2 different sizes.

Well, we have a unsupported sitter on our hands now! I can't believe that in a period of only a few days Allison is doing so well with her sitting. I won't leave her alone yet while sitting without the Boppy behind her, but she can sit for a good length of time even while playing and reaching!
I can't believe how quickly she is growing! This must be why people have more than one child! (bc babies grow SO fast!)

On another note, I have started weaning from the breast feeding. I am having mixed emotions with the whole swine flu thing, but I am still planning to do morning and night for a while. I have started by cutting out her afternoon feeding (which I miss the days I am working anyways.) So far so good. Oh and thanks for the suggestions about the formula. We have been mixing 2oz formula to 3-4 ozs of breast milk and she takes it just fine.

Hope everyone is having a nice day. I am enjoying the end of my Long, long weekend!

Hi everyone! I figured it was time to move over to this thread now that my little man Landon is 2 weeks old! Wow, I can't imagine how fast his first year is going to fly by.

A quick re intro: I'm Melissa (25) and my DH is Robert (29). Our son was born on 8/21. We are just enjoying being new parents and loving every minute with our little man.

Welcome Melissa!!!! :yay: Glad to see things are going well for you :yay:

Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend. Natalie's great grandmother come in from Az to meet her. It was wonderful.

I can't believe she will be 12 weeks on Thursday. Wow, time is really flying by. She has been sleeping great. I am now trying to get her to go to bed earlier than 10 pm. Last night she was in bed by 9:30 and up at 5:50 am. Not to bad because she then falls back asleep until 8:30 or so. Things have been good.

I noticed tonight Emma has a small crack starting between a roll on her chubby cute legs. How should I treat??? A&D and keep it moist??
She doesn't seemed bothered by it but I dont want it to get worse.

TIA

Ann, I haven't personally had a problem with either of my two having cracked skin but they have gotten "dry"spots on occasion and I would think just keeping it moist, like you mentioned, and using lots of moisturizer would help. I also read to make sure not to bathe them too often. I don't know how often you give Emma a bath but I don't bathe Zander but every other night.

And those are cute shoes at LL Bean. Might just have to order some if I can't find the ones at Marshalls. Of course, he already has a few pairs of shoes to grow into that I picked up at my sisters' consignment and liquidation sales! One pair is the squeaky shoes for when he starts to walk. I know they irritate some people but they are great when you are out shopping with the LOs and they want to do some walking. you always know where they are! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure, Ann.
Lucas has some red areas in his rolls that the pediatrician told me to make sure I got really good with the hydrocortisone cream... the stuff we use because Lucas has a bit of a rash.
They took the redness away and the cream works well to keep his skin from getting too dry. It's not scaly anymore like it was in places...

We're going to Sears tonight to get a picture taken with all 3 of us. Woohoo. This will be the first "professional" picture of DH and I ever, too. :rotfl:

Lucas is chilling out in the recliner watching Baby Beethoven... yay for baby einstein!

Good morning gals! Thought I'd pass along a coupon link to a 5.00 off Enfamil formula. http://www.enfamil.com/app/iwp/enfa...s_Resources/Enf_Programs_Offers/PremiumCoupon
And a lot of places let you use this in combo with the checks. Also, my ped office has 15.00 rebate forms if you buy two cans, so you might check w/ your ped to see if they have any of those.

I hope everyone has a great day! Gotta go get dd ready for Preschool.

Thanks for the coupon tip. Emma uses either Similac or Enfamil, I will use any coupons I can get my hands on. Last week I lost a stack of them I had in my coupon file. I was so p/o'd.

Patsy, have fun at photo shoot!

DH and I were dying laughing looking at the pictures afterwards.

Is that horrible? We just realized we're not the prettiest people in the world. :rotfl: We apologized to Lucas.

So Lucas is definitely going through a growth spurt. He drank 42oz yesterday!!!!!!! :scared1: He barely slept, too. He usually naps at least 5-6 hours in his swing through the day and at least once after Tom gets home from work.
Yesterday he was awake from 5-10pm... but when I put him in his crib he was sound asleep before I left the room. :goodvibes

I plan to try to re-do his nursery today. The way I had things organized is not working at all now that he is outgrowing clothes so quickly... so I'm determined to figure something out. It looks like a ball of clothes exploded in there right now.. I have piles everywhere.
Crossing my fingers he's content to chill out on his playmat while I work on it. He's never been upstairs with me longterm but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with putting him in his swing downstairs while I'm up there... :upsidedow

Natalie is going thru a growth spurt as well. She doesn't sleep nearly as much as Lucas does. She will take a 45 min to an hour nap late morning and anywhere from 1-3 hour nap late afternoon. I have been putting her down around 9 pm and she wakes up at 6 am to eat, then goes back down until 8:30 or so.

BTW- I had a massage today. I was wonderful:love:

Massage...I am so jealous. What I wouldn't give for a pedicure.

How old is Natalie now?? Emma is going to sleep around 8 and was getting up around 2 or 3...but this week she has been getting up around 4am and I am loving it. She eats and goes back to sleep till around 7. She is ten weeks and I think doing much better than DS did stretching.

Massage! Lucky you. We will live vicariously through you. ;)

Lucas goes to bed about 10pm and gets up anywhere between 8-9. Usually closer to 9.
After he eats, he takes a nap usually until about 11. Then he eats again! :rotfl:
After that he's usually awake an hour or two before he falls to sleep again in his swing and wakes back up somewhere between 4 and 5 for another bottle. Then, another hour long or so nap and another bottle maybe... before the bedtime bottle and sleep.

I know I got lucky. His daddy is a sleep-a-holic, too, though!

I could go for a massage about now!

Patsy, how did the nursery redecorating go?

I took Zander to the ped about his circumcision-the doc gave me a script for a cream to put on it twice a day and to keep vaseline on it otherwise and hopefully it will come apart within a couple of weeks. While I was there I picked up some of the Enfamil rebate forms if anyone wants one. Just PM me and let me know if you want one.

Zander is averaging about 6 hours straight at night for sleep. Sometimes a little more. But that is only if he doesn't sleep all day-made the mistake of letting that happen a couple of days ago! :scared1:
