The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

We went to DL last May. I want to go back when Katie is bigger. I enjoyed it, but could have enjoyed it more without all my in-laws there! My mil's sister lives near Anaheim (owns a limo company) with her 2 youngest kids, and flew her older daughter plus 2 friends, me and my 2 kids, my mil, bil, sil, and 2 nieces, and their older sister and her grandson to CA, put us in nice suites near DL, paid for all our food and our admission to DL and SeaWorld, drove us in a limo bus to Vegas, and paid for all of us to stay at Mandalay Bay for 3 nights, took us all over Vegas and to the Hoover Dam, then flew us home from there. She also gave me and my sil $400 cash to use as spending money! It was really an awesome experience, but stressful. I was told to plan everything, and of course I spent hours doing it. Then no one wanted to follow my plans:headache:. So I'd love to go back with just the kids. You notice dh is not mentioned here-he refused to go on that trip too!

DL is nice in that you can just walk everywhere. No one else wanted to get up early, so mil would drive me and my kids to the parking lot near DTD and drop us off. We'd walk through DTD into the parks. It was alot of fun being able to go back and forth. But we missed alot of the stuff that is at WDW. WDW just seems more magical to me!

Shutterfly is doing a free Father's Day photocard, you just have to pay shipping.

I'm going to do that (once I have a picture of him and Lucas!)...

But definitely looking for more exciting ideas, too. I was going to make a huge breakfast for him that morning, too... if he doesn't beat me up anyway... He has a tendency to be an early riser on Sundays so he can go run miles upon miles. I choose to sleep.

....off to run errands and get lunch (mmm Jimmie Johns) and OB at 3:15. Going to find out if I'm going in tomorrow night or Wend. morning!

Hey Patsy! Can't wait to hear what happens and to see pics of Lucas!

Luca rolled over today!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Hooray for Luca!!!

Front to back or back to front?

Allie has rolled front to back a few times during the dreaded tummy time though our pedi thinks that she really wasn't sure what she was doing!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:Woohooo!!!

I think something is wonky with my babies. Vinny rolls from front to back no problem.. But Jazz doesnt. She DOES go from back to front though. But Vinny doesnt. So far they each have half of it figured out..:rolleyes: Must be a twin thing... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I think the boys have an easier time rolling front to back when they are "well-endowed" up top like my Luca (meaning they seem to have larger heads:lmao:)!:lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:OMG... Vinny has the biggest head EVER!! I know thats what gets him going over.:rotfl2::rotfl2: Jazzy has this tiny, perfectly round head.. She was breach, and pulled out by her feet... and in comparison Vinny has this huge misshapen head because he was vacuumed out from a weird angle..:lmao: We laugh about it all the time. Crazy kids.

hi rollers! we have a back to tummy roller ... but not the other way yet...she just started rolling last week...and gets mad b/c her arms get stuck under her.
any tips on naptime, ladies? tessa is s-p-o-i-l-e-d ... and i am desperately trying to de-program the part of her brain that tells her she needs to be held ALL THE TIME. I would love her to nap in her crib and it just turns into screamfest 2009.
help...she is getting too long for the swing (the only place she will nap longer than 15 minutes besides on mom or dad)
you would think I could have this all figured out by now...:confused3

Katie screams like I'm ripping off body parts if I put her in the swing. She tolerates the bouncy seat for maybe 10 min, and won't lay in her bed over 10 min either. She sleeps wonderfully at night, but only in my bed next to me! She's finally taking a nap now-1st one since she woke up at 9am-but it is in my bed again!

I do a good tight swaddle, and a bottle and the twins are generally out. Neither baby liked the swing, so we just got rid of it. I still rock them to sleep if they need it... Then pop them in the crib. BUT.. my crib is sidecarred, so its like they are sleeping in my bed. We are at 2 naps a day. One in the morning... around 11, then again at 2 or three.. Off to bed around 9 or 10. and they are sleeping through night!:cool1:

I think mine are better sleepers just because they arent as used to being held as much. Not that I dont hold them, I DO.. I swear, I always feel like I am holding someone.. But I cant hold them at the same time. It makes me sad... I feel like Im not giving them all the attention they need. :guilty:

What is up with that?? NONE of my kids have ever slept in their bassinet!! I dont get it!

I don't know. The 1st night home, I was determined to make her sleep in her bed. We were up all night long! After that, I was too tired to argue with her! Dh says she was just showing us who the boss is. Since then, she's been an angel. But she's been in our bed!

I've tried several times to put her down in her bed, but it always ends with screaming and me having to get her back to sleep (usually by nursing her again).

I am sure that you ARE giving them all the attention that they need. Some babies are just better sleepers and self-entertainers than others. My oldest screamed within seconds of being put down and had to be held constantly. Her baby brother (now 9 y.o.-sob) was so laid back I was worried I would forget about him. No worries, those babies are getting exactly what you need from them. (Be sure and remind me of this when my baby gets here and I'm sure I'm not doing enough for her while mothering my older kids, OK? :))

Haven't gotten thru the 5 pages...but I'm in :)

Ella just turned 2 months and slept all through her first Disney trip :)

Sage, at 15 months LOVED his Disney trip, as well as my two older DD's :goodvibes

I'd love to hear more about your trip-Katie will be 14 months old when we go next summer.

Allie hated her bassinet too! But she LOVED her pack n play (but only the one in the living room) we bought another pack n play for upstairs, but she wouldn't sleep in that either!

She has now been in her crib since 4 weeks. She takes her naps in there too.
She is mostly sleeping through the night. I would say she has all but 2 nights over the past 2-3 weeks! My mom keeps telling me that I am VERY spoiled. Especially because she naps for 2-4 hours at a time in the morning and afternoon.

I also use the swaddle- she seems to do really well with that.
