The "Newest" Moms Hangout...

I haven't been around in a while- but try to check in every so often. Hope that things settle down around here and that people don't really decide to leave. We all try to do the best we can and every child is different!

On our front, Allison is 11 month old now and has 4 teeth. She is pulling herself up to stand and starting to cruise around on the couch. It is making me SO sad how fast she is growing.

Patsy, as for the beans. I am a vegetarian and we eat TONS of beans. You can use the pinto beans for beans and rice. I also have a good recipe for sweet potato burritos that uses kidney beans (though I use black beans). SOunds weird, but it is SO good. Let me know if you want it.

Also, in the summer I make a cold bean salad with whatever I have on hand- usually chick peas (garbanzo beans), great northern beans, and kidney beans. One can of each plus a can of grean beans. Then I season with italian dressing and basil and oregano. Chill and serve- It is a quick and easy side dish, though you really have to like beans to try it.

If you look at the fish bowl pictures on his 9 month session, you can see them on his body. Our photographer is great, she took them out of all the pictures. She hadn't got that far yet on my proofs, but it will be out for my pictures.

Awww, I went and looked and I do see them. Poor CJ.
I don't know if I ever told you but I LOOOOOOVE all those pictures. I wish there was a photographer like that around here but those are all just so great! :lovestruc

I don't know about me but DH would loooove sweet potato burritos. I can make myself something else that night. I even have sweet potatoes right now!!! Score!!! :rotfl:
I like beans in general so will give that bean salad a try. Just straight Italian I assume is best? I have a couple bottles of Kraft's Roasted Red Pepper Italian right now that I'm :confused3 to do with.. I love it on pasta salad but we're pasta salad-ed out!

oh, and do you cook the beans? drain them? or just dump them straight out of the can?

you can even make the burritos and freeze some and bake them at a later time, just wrap them and but them in a freezer storage bad (recipe makes 12).

For the salad, you don't cook them. but i do rinse them first.

Enjoy!

Hmmm.. sounds like a good thing to freeze for DH to have while I'm in the hospital.

Thanks for the recipe!

HOOOORAY!!!! Excellent news. I am so happy for your friends.:goodvibes Heh, at least they have you to come on over and help w/ the multiple babies. I expect three would be exponentially harder than 2, just as 2 seemed to be more than twice as much work as 1.....

I know! I have offered to come spend the night for a few nights when Eli comes home, so they can get some sleep.. They were like.. YES!! Please come! I told them two babies I can handle no problem. So I think I will be spending Friday nights over there for a while. Just to give them a bit a break.. and some SLEEP!

Heeeey.

I was wandering around Walmart yesterday and they had their 2 packs of Gerber Blanket Sleepers for $5. I got Lucas a few packs of 4T/5T to put back.

Thought I'd post, in case someone else wants to check!!

DH had a total meltdown today... and is taking tomorrow off work. So he'll get to go to my OB appt. in the morning and hear a heartbeat. Then I think I might check out a different Walmart, see if I can find some smaller sleepers.

Hope you guys had a good weekend!

I'm so glad to hear lots of real people have had success with the WW. I've lost three pounds! So far, so good. The hardest part was the first week. The best thing I've found are those 1 point VitaTop muffins. Mmm chocolate!

I'm so excited….my sister and mom want to go to WDW with Viv and I this summer for a little trip! Looks like her first trip is coming up really soon! :)

Patsy - I have a hard time finding any Gerber brand (packaged) clothing larger than 9 months but smaller than 2T...it's crazy! I found some 6-9 and 9-12 month Cicco (Target brand I think??) cotton sleepers though...those were 3 for $9...

Weird! All of Lucas' sleepers (that I've bought) have been Gerber. I got the cotton ones (3packs) in 0-3, 3-6, 6-9... and then I started buying blanket sleepers. I've got Gerber 12month, 18month (had to order those on Walmart.com but they had them in the store on the clearance rack today! Grr!) and 24 month blanket sleepers.
I was a bit cranky with myself because the store had a ton of the 24 month on clearance too and I'd just bought them at full price a few weeks ago, as he is about to outgrow the 18month.

I went to the other store today, they both have tons of GIRLS sleepers. I wish I knew what I was having, I would have taken advantage! They also had a ton of the Garanimal (spell that right?) seperates for $1!!! I got Lucas some 18m sweatshirts as he is wearing their 12m right now. I also grabbed a $1 pair of 4T cotton pants. Can't beat a buck! I have several boxes of clothes I've bought on clearance in our hall closet upstairs, now I've got even more to add to the pile!!

They didn't have any 3T sleepers (in boys) at either store. I got 2 packs of both 4T and 5T.

Also, heard a heartbeat today! DH went with me, then we hit the other Walmart and had lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. Heartbeat was 163, which is pretty in line with where Lucas always was... I probably am having another boy.

Do you want another boy? :teeth:

I'll have to go looking around on Walmart.com then...or just the Gerber website. (Did you know you can print some coupons off for Gerber? Visit couponingtodisney(dot)com for the link; just search for Gerber and it should pop up.)

I hit a total score when we were moving. I found a HUGE rubbermaid tub full of girls clothes sz.18 months up to 4t. A friend had given them to us, and I put them away and forgot about them! Good thing I found them now that Jasmine is almost out of 18 months!:lmao:But she is scrawny.. They will probably fit her a bit longer. Not like the beast who is out of 18 months already!

I'm happy either way.

At first, I wanted another boy. Then I started thinking about how this is it... and a girl would be nice. But then I'm like, but two boys this close together in age will be so great! They'll get along a lot better than a boy/girl when they're older. Plus, I have the clothes already!!! :rotfl:

I'm happy either way. Should get an order for an ultrasound at my next OB appt. which is the 22nd of March. So I might find out that week!

Staley, score!! If I have a girl someone will be a very lucky recipient of all of these clothes. Though, of the 4 people I know that are pregnant right now (3 recently had their kids) they were all SEVEN girls!!!

My BFF isn't finding out, though, so if she has a boy and I have a girl I can hand her a ton of totes of clothing the day the kid is born! :rotfl:

Okay... I know in my heart we are done having babies...... BUT... I took a pregnancy test yesterday, and I just CRIED when it was negative. Im sure Im not pregnant, but my period is late. My cycles are getting longer and longer, so I fear that even if we werent done having babies, the odds of me getting pregnant on my own are fairly small. Its really hard for me this time around. I dont know if it is because I am almost 30, and that was my cutoff for having babies or WHAT. Or just because I am done. I dont know. But it makes me sad to know that Im done having babies.

I can understand that. I'm sad that this is it for me and I am pregnant! I didn't really want to get pregnant this soon... they weren't kidding when they said it only takes once! :rotfl:

But this is it, and that makes me sad. I wanted 3 or 4, since I was a little girl. DH just can't do it and I think it'd be selfish of me to pressure him... he loves Lucas but he can't deal with all the pressures like I can. He had an UBER-MELTDOWN yesterday because of all his stress. He cried. I've never seen him cry and it made me realize he really can't handle stress at all... so 2 kids is it. He worries about money (grew up on welfare, wants more for us), he worries about school (thinks he needs a degree to get a better job to make more money)... he just can't do it. So 2 is it. Makes me pretty sad.

God, we are so hormonal and messed up! :rotfl:

Yeah we are!! My husband is great about things. We talk about having more kids, and he said yes.. we should have more kids. In a few years. But by then, the twins will be out of diapers, out of baby stage, and full KIDS. Two of them. At once. Everything at the SAME TIME. I dont know if I am going to want it then. But I want it now! I just need to reschedule that vasectomy and get it done.

We joke about how when I get pregnant I add a baby... Then my husband looks at me.. What if you arent adding a baby??? What if you are DOUBLING??? :scared1::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm gone for the weekend and the whole thread blows up! lol Glad I wasn't part of it this time!

So Lily has started eating solids much better. She still prefers to feed herself though. Right now she loves green stuff. We had a great weekend.

I'm a WW girl too! I haven't rejoined yet. Once I know DH isn't losing his job, I'll be signing back up. I find the accountabilty of the weigh ins is essential for me.

Subing in :)

We have decided to go with the flow and see if God has plans for us to have a 3rd.

We have Irish twin girls Katie 3.5 and Abby 2.5, and I have been on BC since having Abby, as I was sure we would have had three under 2 if I was not on it. Now that life is getting easier (is that possible with kids), we have decided that I am done with BC and to just see what happens.
