We (DH, me, DSs8&4, DD6mo)are headed to WL 11/27-12/3. I would like to ack as light as possible with three kids! Can someone tell me what is in the room, hair dryer, soaps, shampoo, etc? We haven't been to the Lodge since our Disneymoon 10 years ago, nd all recent stays have been at ASMo. Thanks for the help.

They have those small hotel hair dryers that are attached to the wall. There is bar soap in the vanity area and bath. There is also shampoo. I don't remember if they had conditioner.

There should also be a pack and play (or you can request one from Lodgekeeping). I would bring my own pack n play sheet. The ones that Disney provies didn't seem to fit very well. Plus, it will smell like home. You can also request bed rails if you want them for the 4 year old.

Should you need it I think there is also an iron.

Can you use crib sheets on the pack and plays? Will they fit? TIA

Just came back from WL. The shampoo is labeled as a shampoo/conditioner. Hair dryer worked great...no need to bring my own (which is much heavier!). Always had plenty of face and bath soap. Pack n Play was delivered to our room with sheets, and in very good condition. Only thing was that we didn't call for one, which prompted jokes from my husband as I entered the room later and we had a good laugh (as our kids are older)!

I remember three 'cold' sandwiches, one being tuna with cucumbers on multi-grain bread. There were also salads you could choose from and vegetables (like carrots and celery), fruit and yogurt. I wish I could remember more.

The last post I see that mentions broadband is from last January as far as I can tell. Can anyone give me an update on getting a high speed internet line in the main lodge? Won't end the world without it, but it would be nice to have as an option.

Just came back from WL (main lodge) and our room had a high speed connection. It was located on the nightstand between the beds

Thanks very much, I was hoping that they might have added it.

We (DH, DS16 and DS12) will be staying at WL in Feb 06. I thought I read
somewhere that there is a new path to Fort Wilderness along the lake. Not the paved one by the road. Does anyone know anything about this. Wouldn't it have to go through the old River Country area? This didn't make sense to me, but it would be very nice. Any one with info? :sunny:

Yes, there is a path along the lake. My hubby and I took an early morning walk over to Ft. Wilderness. It's only for daytime since the path is not lit. The path started closer to the lake, then went more inland due to the River Country area. We didn't realize that was the reason until the boatride back when I saw the old RC area.

The path next to the lake isn't new, the link below will bring up a map of the Nature Trails. The path you are asking about starts to the right of Teton Boat & Bike Rental, it goes next to the lake but rejoins the paved bike trail just before you reach Pioneer Hall.

How long a walk (at a leisurely pace) would it be from WL to the entrance (lake side) to Fort Wilderness?

Hi! We are going to be at the WL from 12/2~12/11 this year. My question is, will Guest Services help you to obtain your on-line boarding passes for your return flight home?
Thanks!

...had another great year at WL. (9-4 to 9-10)We didn't get any upgrade -not sure if it was because of the trainee CM or just no openings. We were initially not thrilled with our view - the loading area - but came to realize that we really didn't plan to be in the room alot anyway. The room, 4060, was very inconvenient to any elevators. We may have had the opportunity to change later in the week but it didn't seem worth it to repack, etc. Anyway, everything else went great. The lodge is such a relaxing resort. IMO, the crowds were up over the past Sept and we definitely saw a significant increase on Friday -the beginning of the Night of Joy.

We had no transportation problems with the boats but the buses to MGM were VERY slow. We connected via boat monorail to Epcot and also used the bus there as well with no problems. WCC was worth the visit again as well.

Overall, I would probably try harder for a better room next year but the vacation was great..........as was the free dining. I don't think I've ever eaten that much before. Yes, I do think the free dining increased attendance for this time of year.

We were able to do this last Dec. for our return on Southwest. I'm not sure about other airlines. It was very easy and quick although I woke myself at midnight to make sure I got the "A" boarding pass!! Next time I'll just stay in the parks later :)

the wilderness lodge is my husband and son absolute favorite! this holiday i'm surprising them by booking concierge. has anyone stayed at the concierge during the holidays? i'm hoping it will be a nice treat for them!

Our dear friend Ranger Stan will be out having knee replacement surgery in early October. He will be missed around the lodge but plans to come back as soon as he can. Remember him with prayers.........and I guess pixie dust!!
