thats what we did...I was afraid the cabinet would get too hot though
cause there was only a small opening in the back...but nothing got burnt out or overheated..
We used the park schedule channel that had the non voice disney music playing all the time....it was a cute thing to fall asleep to and wake up to

Yes...there are clock radios in the room next to the beds...also, you could turn on the TV to one of the stations with just background music and close the doors to the cabinet...

I just read a REALLY bad post about the WL on the resort page. At first I was laughing because it was so negative that it was silly. I know that some people have a bad start to their trip and do not recover. Then I started to get a little nervous because we will be staying at the WL in Feb. Please read the post and tell me that this op was having a bad day. I think it was tittled miserable stay at the WL. I know that everyone has their own ideas and opinions and I respect that but I hope this person is in the minority here.

taratink you will LOVE WL... Do not worry about that post...

Seems to me they were complainers. Those people that do nothing to make it better. Personally I was laughing at the fact that they didn't like the decorations... WL has the most beautiful lobby at christmas time (you want to see ho-hum come to OKW... the tree is nice, but nothing to go out of the way for). They could have room changed the next day (or resort changed for that matter), they could have called housekeeping and asked that their room not be cleaned until whatever time...houskeeping will note that and it will print out for the housekeeper, they themselves could have been nicer to the Cast Members... Remember, do unto others...

Don't let that post get to you. WL is georgeous...the CM's are very nice and the location is great. Not to worry!

 Hi guys...just to let you all know I bit my tongue on that original post about the horrible WL stay (blood was on the desk I bit so hard...j/k)... :bitelip: I decided to not get into that debate with them!

Also DVC resorts can be booked by anyone just like regular hotels. CRO has an alotted amount of rooms for regular guests and Member Services has an alotted amount of rooms for DVC members. Sometimes regular guests actually have more rooms avaliable to them than members do... odd but true.

In case I don't get back to this thread HAPPY HOLIDAY's everyone :grouphug:

Happy Holidays back at ya!!

That post was really something else - I decided not to get involved in a debate either! We're heading to WDW this weekend, although we're staying at CR this time, but will DEFINITELY make a trip over to WL to see *home* in all its holiday splendor -- can't wait!!!

We leave on Friday. I can't wait! :cool1: :cool1:

Fred, I have a copy of the survey on page 1 that I will fill out and return to you.

question...
I obtained a copy of the lodge bg music a while back.
On this trip where we were able to spend a bit of time at the lodge
i noticed that the bg music is now different....I know that they have included
christmas music, which is nice in itself, but when they are playing the songs
that arent christmas it doesnt sound like the cd I got a while back...
i have that cd pretty much memorized, especially the Bela Fleck tune(hes wicked awesome on the banjo)

does anyone know if they have updated the music? and if so is there somehwere to get it..I would love to have it

'Morning, Lodge lovers!

To all those venturing to the Lodge (or any other resort), have a magical vacation! Relax, and enjoy the view! Getting around WDW is half the fun!

As for the "nasty" post, take everything with a grain of salt. Doesn't matter what hotel you visit anywhere. There will be wonderful and negative experiences.

What *I* find helpful in evaluating a new resort for a potential stay, is to do a search on the evaluators name. Helps me to see if we have the same "taste". :3dglasses

Have a magical day, everyone! :flower:

Hello friendly lodge lovers!

What's your thought on this - am I crazy to want to book a studio villa? Stayed at WL 10 years ago for our anniversary. Have reservations for CSR to help celebrate our 20th, but I feel more "excited" when I think of returning to the lodge.

Didn't fully get to enjoy WL 10 years ago because we were there during a tropical storm and cut our trip short. Plus the lodge was brand new then, wondering how it has since changed.

I'm kinda afraid that since we have to go in July, WL will feel too crowded.

The thought of a studio villa intrigues me.

Any thought? Thank you. :teacher:

We are finally leaving! :moped: :cool1:

Wanted to stop and wish everyone best wishes for the holidays. I may not have posted too many times, but I was here in reader's spirit everyday.

Appreciate all of the information that has been lovingly put together for a place that has been beautifully photographed for us WL first-timers. To those who asked questions or shared positive views which helps to inform us better. In a world where we see the "me first" attitude, on this thread we read words from posters who care not only for this resort but the feeling of goodwill to veteran posters and the new ones who join the thread.....Thank you! :grouphug:

MagicinmyHeart - you asked that I let you know what I was going to do for the CM's. I decide to take two colored chenille pipe cleaners and twisted them to make a candy cane and tied a hard candy to it. It may not be much, but I wanted them to know they are appreciated.

So now it time to dash away dash away.....Happy Holidays! :hyper:

....my poor DS, Dylan, has been really sick for the past few days....he was MORE upset that he couldn't be in his school XMas play (he was playing Frosty the Snowman!)....but he's feeling a little bit better now... :cool1:

I would say go for the villas. Nothing wrong with that at all. It's nice there. Beckie is really the one to ask about the villas though as we have never actually stayed there. :) She's down at Disney though so you may have to wait a few days.

I "can" speak from experience though about going in July. To sum it up, we'll personally never do it again. The parks are mobbed and the heat is nearly unbearable. However, it's more than ok for other people just not for us.

There ya have it. My 2 cents and they're worth every penny! :)

Hi All,

I'm new today to posting on this site, but I've been reading your info for the past couple of weeks. My DH, DD (turning 8 one week before our trip) and I will be staying at the WL for the first time from Jan 8-12, and I can't WAIT! My daughter doesn't know that we're going--we're wrapping up a stuffed Mickey Mouse with a note telling her of the plans--and I know she'll love it (especially if we get a room with bunk beds!).

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the great information on this thread. I hope you all enjoy your holidays...and your future WDW trips! :flower1:

youll love the lodge
I was there in September and was mesmerized by it
I had a great room , view and the most importantly a great time
full of pixie dust

Just heard back from my contact there. He advises that there are 8 rooms with bunks on the 7th floor. If there are none available during your stay, they can arrange for you to have a room on another floor to accomodate your request but still give you access to the 7th floor with your room key.

Hope this helps.

Hey guys for those of you that were worried about staying at WL because of the negative thread that was up this week... check this out...
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=698590 seems nothing went right on their trip. Just wanted to throw this thread up there so those that were hesitant about WL after reading about the "miserable stay" would see that the poster had nothing nice to say about anything...

O and sorry to my fellow WL lovers and Disers... I had to respond to this one and stick up for the CM's at WL...

Love you guys :grouphug:

Nolcrest- We're also going to be at WLV in July at a 1 bedroom. Have you thought about renting points from a DVC owner? If you are interested, I can give you the e-mail of the people we're renting from. Everything is okay with them so far, and they can even take credit cards.
