FloridaCat was one smart CAT. While I never knew 999ghost, I know she is widely spoken of as extraordinary, and is named again and again with honor on all of the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Threads I have even gone back to try and read some of her post but they have all been removed. Is it permissible to tell what happened or why her post were removed?

Beckie

999 Ghost was a room assigner at WL and helped some disers get nice upgrades...including myself. We never knew who she was, but apparently someone checked into WL making comments about 999ghost to the CMs...asking questions and voicing negative opinions! I think she was found out by management and was asked to remove all remnants of 999ghosts! Some of her posts from Thread #1 were amazing!!! Very detailed info about certain things! She now posts under 2 different user names
but she stays clear of our WL threads nowadays!:sad2:

Thanks Judie...Well maybe she lurks just to keep an eye on us because she sounds like a wonderful person. How terrible that someone went out of their way to make trouble for her.

Sounds like the same type of people that have been posting so many hurtful remarks around the DIS lately. :confused3

Yeah, what's up with that anyway? I love reading the wide variety of threads, but some of them really make me CRINGE!! Seems to be lots of anger in this world - so sad :(

P.S. Very SAD people are there around the boards : I believe the best thing is .....JUST IGNORE THEM !!!!!!!!!
This kind of people love to KNOW they are giving troubles to others ...... and they feel BAD when no-one is paying them attention !!!!:headache:

WITH LOVE !!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!:wave2:

Have to weigh in with my $.02 about the nastier breed of poster being found on the DIS. For a long time before posting, I read just about every resort thread, since members of my large family traveling group all had different ideas about where to stay. (I was pretty much sold on WL, having seen it when staying at FW.) Anyway, I was struck by how incredibly nice the WL Vets & posters are. You can actually see a difference in the civility & bonding between people attracted by WL. I mean that quite sincerely!!! Some resorts - I won't mention specifics because I certainly don't want to add to the negativism - really seem to attract a seriously nasty group of people. There is one in particular where a good percentage of the posters say negative things. What surprises me is what motivates these people to come to Disney at all??? given that a large part of the attraction is the feeling of hope & joy that everything Disney stands for. But I think Laura is right, we need to ignore them (but, boy sometimes it's hard) since they're only 'happy' when they know they are upsetting someone.

My Mom always told us & I think it's appropriate today "You attract a lot more bees with honey than you do with vinegar!" I always try to remember that.

OK. I'm off my soap-box now.

Jessica:wave:

Mickey's Sister, I agree. When reading the boards and encountering negative posts, I often run back to the WL board to recover that "Disney" feeling.

I agree Mickey's sisteer. I have found myself reacting to a couple negative posts. I write up a reply and then I erase it everytime. These people are just negative and **** disturbers. they like to get everyone worked up. I ignore and continue to talk to the wonderful people on this board as they out number the crazies 100-1.

Laura, so true!!

I think I know which one you are talking about. I just don't "get it". WDW has lots of different resorts because people's tastes & wallets are all so different. I would love to try 'em all one day. Or at least most of them. Why on earth do some people get their knickers all tied up in a big knot as to which one is "better"?

There is one poster in particular I'm thinking of who has posted many times on many different threads abt how horrible the WL transportation is. But I've yet to see one word of support. When did s/he stay? What were the circumstances? Makes me question anything this poster writes.......

A wise old friend once told me, "Sometimes I don't think even half of these people have ever been to WDW....." (Roy/Floridacat)

Best to just ignore those who's motive seems to be to pick a fight! ::yes::

Congrats on getting a good rate! Feb is such a busy month, you're lucky to get what you did! ::yes::

Next time, WL!!!

Majestic

I got the three nights Jan 10-13 for $109.00 a night at Wilderness Lodge (Standard View) this was with the Florida Resident Special...Over on Mousesavers they have a code posted that is available for anyone to use for all different types of rooms including Concierge you need to see if you can get the rate added to your room...do you book room only when you make your reservations...you know you could save big bucks if you would just purchase an ANNUAL PASS and book your own room with a code for concierge @ Wilderness Lodge. Even though you may not not be able to get a few of your days with the code they may have it for most of the nights. With a savings of around $100.00 a night it is worth calling and seeing if you could change to room-only and save some money.

"General public" discount codes for stays in 2004 have all expired. However, there are other sources of discounts. See other discounts section if you are looking for a 2004 discount.

January-April 2005 Room-Only Discount Code

This is my first post on this thread but you all look like a great bunch of folks. Good people as I would say here in the north east.

I took advantage in the great rates for AP holders ($121 per night ) and booked 9 nights in January at the WL. I can't wait, any suggestions for special things to do while staying at WL?

Looking forward to becoming a WL Vet in the coming years.

Dave

Hi Fred

And Thank you we will be there from Jan 20th to the 29th. I am really looking forward to this trip. I have been to WDW 17 times but no trips since 1997 , so I have a whole bunch of new things to do and see.

And it is my 11th Anv. on the 21st so my wife and I will celebrate at the parks.

Again thank you and I will be throwing some questions this way soon.

Dave
