Here is the link to the on-line version of the WDW Vacation Planning Video: click here. Once you’re on that webpage, click on the RESORTS button. The webpage will rearrange itself and some new buttons regarding the Resorts will appear. Put your mouse over the Disney Deluxe Resorts Overview entry and select “Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.” A video window will open and the Wilderness Lodge video will begin to play.

It’s a nice way to experience a little bit of Disney magic without leaving the comfort of your home. ;)

...you lil' devil, you.... ;)

I'm reading this thread listening to live365's Mouse House Radio playing the WL music loop, I've decided to call 407 wdisney and make my reservation for the 1st week in December, the last time I stayed at WL was Sept. 1994 just after I was married. You guys have got me excited to go back. Now I just have to wait for the dates of MVMCP.

You are all ready under 180 days, so let the planning begin. So much to do, so many great restaurants to try. Have fun but try and keep DGH on track.

Edcrbnsoul

The days for MVMCP 2006 should be very close to the dates in 2005 just adjust this years dates to the nights (Monday, Tuesday, ect.) the days of the week seem to be constant for the nights they hold the party. Have fun

I am so excited. My first trip to the WL is Saturday. I might even try and call ahead and get in on Friday night!!

Edcrbnsoul- we also will be there first week of December (1st through 9th) to celebrate DD's birthday.

Here are my questions for today:
I seem to recall that WL did carriage rides around Christmas time in the past. Does anyone have additional information on this? Particularly whether it might be done again this year.

Also, out of curiosity, can WL guests use the pool at VWL? Not that I am really thinking of this as something to do-- more just wondering.

Pretty sure they still do the horse and buggy rides at Fort Wilderness but I'm not 100% certain and I don't have all of the details as we've never been at WL in December.

As for the quiet pool by the villas, it's open for all guests to use and is our preferred pool because it's not as nuts as the main courtyard pool.

Enjoy!

Hi Fred,

I'm getting really excited. Next week 2/23 Marcel and I will be at the Wilderness Lodge Club Level celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary. We are so looking forward to this. Boy do we need a vacation. I can't wait to walk into that beautiful lobby.

I am having a few little "surprises" set up for Marcel that concierge is helping me with.

As always thanks for all your help, we can't wait!!! :goodvibes

Yes for the past few years at Christmas starting in late November The Wilderness Lodge has Sleigh Rides. They start at the lodge and travel over to Ft. Wilderness Campground. The cost was $35.00 for about 30 minute ride you will need to call and make a reservation as soon as it becomes available at 407-WDW-PLAY.

Jeanne

Have a Great visit wish I was going...well maybe not on your Wedding Anniversary...but you know what I mean. :)

Did you and Marcel talk about the DCL in August?

Had to stop back to see the lastest doing at the Lodge. Its been a few years and I want to go back during our family visit in September. Kids would like to try the Animal Lodge. I have a few weeks before the final word is said.

Good to see some familiar names.

I wonder if anyone got our little trinkets we left in the treasure box back in Oct. of 2003. They were from my hometown of Sag Harbor, NY.

After going missing for over a year the Memory Box was returned to Majestic. He was some of the items that were placed in the BOX, he may drop by soon to let you know if your mementos were among the few that were found.

It's has been a long time, you never posted if you enjoyed your visit to the Lodge. :) Drop by anytime to check in. Have a GREAT trip even if it's over at AKL, it's a beautiful resort.

Hi all!! We just got back from an eight day stay at the WL. Had a great stay. Would be happy to answer any questions . . . .

Definite highlight of the stay was being the flag family. :thumbsup2 We had asked at our previous visits and never got in but third time's a charm I guess. It is truly an awesome experience and one that I will remember always. Ranger Stan is a remarkable, wonderful person and my entire family enjoyed visiting with him and learning even more about Disney. At the end he spoke to my two girls and gave them some 'life' advice - it brought tears to my eyes. Amazing!! If you ever have the opportunity to do this - don't hesitate. And I don't even like heights but I didn't mind :)

The lodge was great as usual although I do miss the bandanas at WC - that was always such a hoot to see all the creative hats and such. We didn't really mind RF not being totally functional as they had quite a variety of cold food, pizzas, and hotdogs. But the DDs and DH did miss the refillable mugs.

Transportation was very fast - never waited longer than 5-10 minutes for a bus or boat except one morning - one very cold morning - when there was fog and they had to wait a bit so they could see.

Great trip filled with pixie dust pixiedust: but I miss the lodge already!!

So glad you had a great trip. We'll be trying for flag family for our 8 night stay this summer, I SO hope we are able to do it. They don't do the bandanas at WC anymore? They did them last summer, I still have ours. What a bummer. Looking forward to our trip, June can't get here fast enough.

Lesley, we asked about the bandanas and were told they stopped using them a few months ago. When I asked 'why?' she said she didn't know but we could alway write the management and let them know we would like the bandanas to return :scratchin All the tables had plain, yellow-gold napkins. I'm glad I have mine from our last trip, too. I was going to make them into pillows someday. Hope you have a magical stay this summer!!

Do they have hair dryers in the WL rooms? Do we have to ask for them. My mom wanted to know if she could save packing hers. Thanks for your help :thumbsup2
