:worship: Thank you!!!

Okay...I really need some pixie dust. pixiedust:

My family really wants to stay at the WL but we can only afford to stay in a standard view room with an AP code. So I priced it out and had a room on hold but I wanted to wait until we got our taxes done to make sure we had enough to cover the trip. Well, now that we can go and I want to book and the resort is sold out of all standard view rooms. My AP expires on July 13 so checkin has to be between July 5 and 13.

Any ideas of a close runner up if our wishes for WL just don't happen?

BTW...I have been checking WDW reservations everyday for availablility.

Have you checked out AAA rates?

We were deciding between CSR, CBR, and Yacht and Beach club before settling on WL. I think all of them are very nice based on what I've read here and elsewhere.

Today we finally decided on WL for our trip 5/12-5/16. First we considered Pop Century, then POFQ then settled on WL since we're deluxe snobs. Did try Swan or Dolphin since we prefer Epcot but they're booked for our dates. This will be DHs and my 3rd stay at the lodge, DSs second stay, and my moms first stay.

I Have on hold a wl room for next month. The problem is that have 3 kids and told them that I still have two. There is nothing eles in the hotel to accomadate us, so Ithought I would wing it. A friend mentioned that they may not offer a roll a way? Do you think 5 can fit into these rooms? Any suggestions would be grateful.
THanks

The only information I can give you is, the Wilderness Lodge doesn't have any roll-away-beds, so this isn't an option. The room lay-outs don't really have the space to accomidate an additional bed. As they have no other accomadations I assume you checked on the Deluxe room that sleeps six.

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. Count me as one of those people who is passionate about Wilderness Lodge. I stayed there shortly after it opened. I never stayed there again, mostly for budgetary reasons. However, I still visited there periodically for meals and to look around. Just being there makes me happy.

Last July, I bought into Disney Vacation Club with the Wilderness Lodge Villas as my home resort, so I'll be able to stay there a lot more frequently. I was at Walt Disney World last week, and although I didn't stay at Wilderness Lodge, I did go there to look around. I was reminded all over again why I love this place so much. (To tide me over until I actually stay there again, which will be in October, I also bought loads of Wilderness Lodge merchandise.)

WELCOME HOME,

Boy are you going to love your first stay over at the Villas. I have a week already booked for June there will be 12 of us in a 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom. I am haveing a hard time trying to make ADR as everyone says they just want to stay at the Villas and may not even visit the Parks.
Have you stayed at any of the other DVC Resorts yet?

You didn't say how old they are. Can one do a port a crib? They do provide that, so you could have 2 in a bed or 2 in bunkbeds and the other in a crib??

:hyper: FINALLY! After much debate-with myself-and waffling-I changed our POR ressies for WL for Dec.15-22. We have stayed at POR before and had an amazing time, but I think we will be happy with the holiday theming and trying something new this time. Does anyone know when Roaring Forks rehab is supposed to be finished? It's not a big deal, just wondering.

Hurrah! Thanks for all the great information in this thread.

Thank you for all of this information!

I get a chance to go to WL next week, and I was wondering if the Roaring Forks is still under renovation. I heard that it still has a limited offering during renovation, do you happen to know what that is?

Thanks for any info you may have.

A nice bit of Wilderness Lodge information I got from the Daily Dose of Disney mailing list:

*********************************************
ANSWER TO PREVIOUS TEASER: Which WDW resort is said to have the
highest percentage of return resort guests on property, averaging
over 90% at any given time? "Wilderness Lodge".
*********************************************

Before I saw the answer to this question, Wilderness Lodge was my first guess. However, after I thought about it a bit, I decided that the answer might be Shades of Green because that resort is subsidized, so those who can stay there would almost certainly choose that over another WDW resort. However, it turned out my first impression was correct.

How is the courtyard view vs the standard view.

I had ressie for may12-19 for the standard rm. Well I called today wanting to apply the ap rate to our rm. No standard rates availible so the cm convinced me to switch to courtyard, since I would save about $100.00. (though I was expecting to save about $700).

All in all I am still saving some - but is this view worth it.

We just got back last Friday and one half of RF was open. They had hot dogs and cheese and pepperoni pizza for hot entrees. There were a lot of cold choices including sandwiches and a great chicken caesar salad. Lots of yummy deserts, bottles of soda, juice, milk and cereal boxes. One of our favorites were the fruits - bowls of grapes and one of apple slices with a small dish of caramel. Some were a little pricey but not too bad - the chicken caesar was $6.99 - pretty big with crutons and lots of cheese :thumbsup2 . We had a refrigerator in our room so we bought milk at the mercantile by the half gallon and saved $$ instead of buying the smaller cartons at RF. Hope this helps - let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great trip!!

The Courtyard View is wonderful well worth the money, I would just be sure to request a Inner Courtyard View.

I gave into the AP Rates today, decided to add a few nights to my DVC stay in June.

Can someone please help with a question?? :confused3

I'm staying at the VWL for the 1st time in May. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
I am familiar with the monorail resorts and boat transportation from past visits...but this time its different..
This time I will be taking my DS, who is mobility challenged and will be using an ecv.
I would like to make ADR's at the Poly and GF ...but.. Is there boat transportation to them that can handle an ecv?? Or.. Is there boat trans that can handle the ecv.. from the WL to the CR..then..monorail to the Poly or GF?? :confused3

Thanks in Advance!!

In my opinion your best bet will be to take the direct bus from WL to MK. Then get on the monorail to get to the resort you want to go to that's on the monorail loop.

The boat from WL to CR is the small resort boats that can't handle an ecv.

The larger boat between WL and MK can handle the ecv, but I have read that sometimes when the water levels are very low or high there may be a problem getting the ecv on board.

I have only stayed Courtyard view, so I can't compare, but I loved our view and when we return this June, we are asking for the same area. Loved hearing and seeing the water, the lake, we could even see the geyser from our patio. Terrific!

I have stayed both courtyard view and standard view and would have to say that I am definitely hooked on inner courtyard view! I don't think that I would ever book a standard view at WL again! :rotfl2: Aw heck...who am I kidding!...I would stay in a broom closet at WL if they let me!! :scratchin
