I'm sure this has been asked and anwered...

Has the renovation of WL been postponed?

We are headed back in May and I'm just curious.

Thanks in advance!!! :sunny:

From what I understand, it was supposed to start sometime in March but everyone is being kinda tight lipped about official information. There are even some that say it isn't going to happen this year.

If I could get the straight up story I would give it to you.

Sorry I couldn't help more.

this is why I posted the question here, for an honest assessment from people who have been there more than once. Anyone can have an isolated bad experience and any room anywhere can need a little extra "mousekeeping". Most places are more than willing to correct problems brought to their attention with a smile. I think I'm overthinking my choice. Chalk it up to too much time to plan. Thanks for the reassurances. I know we'll love WL. ;)

I'm back with more questions :) Less than a week away and I'm getting pretty psyched!

Okay, so I requested inner courtyard view from a higher floor -- does that sound good for a courtyard view room request?

Also, are refrigerators in all the rooms now or do you have to call for one when you get to your room?

Thanks!

I don't know the courtyard answer, we've only stayed in Woodsview Magic Kingdom side.
For the refrigerator, they are available in all rooms. If for some reason there isn't one in your room at check in just call down to the front desk and someone will bring it up right away - should be there though.

Java

That request sounds great, just remember the rooms on the 6th floor have the inclosed balconies, to see out you must stand to see over the railing. The rooms on the 6th floor look like dormers.

In this photo from Deb's website you are looking from the Pool looking up at the North Wing. You can see the inclosed balconies on the top floor.

How ya feelin', sweetie??

I'm pretty good, thanks Kimmar! Busy with baby preparations, house, and at least 2 doctors appointments a week. I am on here daily to read my fav threads, but I don't have a lot of time to write. Hope you are well!

I can't wait to get started planning our Decemebr 2006 trip. . . hopefully a split stay between WL and POLY :p. WL in December sounds so magical to me :wizard: .

Does anyone know if it is possilble to buy milk in the WL, now that Roaring forks is closed? DD2 cannot live without it. We will be there Feb 26-Mar 4. Thanks.

They sell milk in the mercantile, you could buy a half gallon and keep it in your fridge.

The Wilderness Lodge Mercantile carries Disney themed clothing, sundries, camera supplies, postage stamps, beer & wine, foodstuffs, milk, newspapers, and souvenirs. The milk is less expencive at the Mercantile, as you can purchase a larger carton then at the Roaring Fork. I'm sure that Roaking Fork even with the selections cut down will still have milk.

Just wanted to say have a MAGICAL TRIP, please post and give us a report on your stay. The weather has been nice here in Florida from 70's-80's.

Beckie,

Thanks for all your help and good wishes :) We are leaving tomorrow and I can't wait! I hope that great weather sticks around. I'll report back next week!

I didn't see this information on the 1st page. I found out today directly from the WL that all Junior Suites are now non-smoking (including the 1 room on the 6th floor) I had to cancel my reservation as DH smokes on the balcony.

I'm sorry that you had to change your reservations due to this but you are correct. On page one it states that the smoking optional rooms are all located on the sixth floor North Wing, due to architectural design of the Lodge there aren't any Jr Suites located in this area.

The one Jr. Suite on the sixth floor Room 6123 is located halfway down the South Wing.

I will update this information to the post on page 1 so it will be clear.

Smoking rooms are 6th floor, Building "B", North Wing. This would be Woodsview and inner Courtyard.

There are actually 25 "Deluxe Rooms" (Junior Suites) They are 1000, 1003, 1166, 1169, 2000, 2003, 2123, 2166, 2169, 3000, 3003, 3123, 3166, 3169, 4000, 4003, 4123, 4166, 4169, 5000, 5003, 5123, 5166, 5169 and 6123.

All of these rooms do offer a connecting option that would be a room with 2 queen beds or a room with one king bed that is either woods or courtyard view. Rooms X000 are the rooms in the North wing that are at the very end of the hall on the left corner, Contemporary side they are Lake/tree view, X003 are the 2 doors down on the right corner with a pool/lake/tree view rooms X123 are halfway down the south wing in the left corner overlooking the pool/lake/geyser. Room X166 is the room at the far end of the south wing on the left corner with a lake view and rooms X169 are 2 doors down on the right corner also with a lake view. Rooms 2123, 3123, 1166, 1169, 2166, and 2169 have "doormer balconies, due to the design of the building these rooms have brick on the balcony railing so you can not see out unless you are standing up (if you sit you see brick), just FYI.

I'm leaving on Saturday for WL and am so excited! I'm aleady planning my 4th Lodge trip April '07. Not as many times as Majestic and others but The Lodge just really feels like home. I can't even imagine wanting to stay anywhere else. Thanks everyone for all the great tips. Still trying for Flag family but if at first you don't succeed.....

BTW - any DISers that will be at WL from the 4th - 11th, look for my lime green ear pen with DIS PrincessAurora on it. I'm also putting one on my door. Feel free to slip notes, slices of cheese and money under the door. ;) Better yet - just say Howdy! :teeth:

I Just booked the WL for 6 nights in April. Yay! I have a woods view and I'm hoping for bunkbeds and a view of the lobby. I can't wait

Does anyone know if there are connecting rooms in the "bear face"? And if so, are there any two queens connecting to a queen with bunkbeds? Thanks!
