That's wonderful. I can't wait to hear about it. I hope we have a chance to do that when we go.

Bump again. It's fun to see everyone speculating on other pages about what the discount is going to be next week. OK, on to page 65 of this thread... this is my nice night time reading...

the view from the roof was great...I raised the american flag while my significant other did the rest....but we are going to take the pic of me doing the american to give to my father as a framed thing cause he is in the military and would never fathem me doing something that patriotic..hehe he will love it

I'm sure he'll be very pleased with the picture and proud of you:)

OK, I'm pretty sure this one's never been discussed - I usually find the pillows at hotels too thick - do you think a phone call to guest services would get me a thinner pillow? Anyone ever done this?

We're going to be there on Friday - 4 more sleeps!

I think you will find the pillows to be just fine. I don't care for super thick pillows either. Either way, I am sure that guest services is prepared for things like this. A phone call should be all it takes.

We will also be at the world Friday but we are doing AKL for the first half of our trip then moving to WL.

I read in a book somewhere, what are the best rooms to ask for. They said a lot on the 6th floor could see fireworks. Anyone know what book I'm talking about, or what rooms should be requested?

Thanks

5th and 6th floor tower and wings should all have a partial to full view of the fireworks. 7th floor north tower (no wings on 7th) are the same.

Enjoy!

Here is the picture I made for Ranger Stan.

I'll be bringing it down to present it to him in person this trip.

What a wonderful gift for a terrific man! Fred, you did such a nice job. We met Ranger Stan (during our first visit to WL) when we went to the Lodge tour on Saturday, September 1st. I realized who he was and remembered seeing him around the lodge greeting everyone earlier in the week. Later that morning I met him in the mercantile and he was talking to a very nice woman working the register. He remembered me, we chatted a bit, and he mentioned that he was to have his surgery the next week. I wished him well. While thinking back to our recent vacation, I was sorry I didn't bring our camera on the tour to take a picture of Stan. He's a special guy and added to making our first stay at WL even more special! Have a great vacation!!!

Wow Fred....that really is something special. You did a great job. I'm sure Ranger Stan will be floored when he sees it.

Enjoy your Trip...be safe :earsboy:

Oh my goodness! What a FANTASTIC job you did on the framed "get well card". Awesome! He will be touched I am sure. Arriving tomorrow afternoon.

After memorizing what I was going to ask for at check in with a woods view room I had to upgrade to a courtyard view to get the discount so now I'm starting all over. I've requested the North wing and I'd really like to have a view of the water. Am I correct in assuming I should ask for a room at the end of the North wing when I get there for that or is there something else I should ask for and are there any clues about room numbers so that I'll know if I'm getting a view of the lake when I get my room number? TIA and thank you all for all the wonderful information you provide in this thread! :)

Hi,

Anyone have any updated information on the renovations/updating of the rooms at WL.

I heard lot of rumors a few months ago but not much lately.

Have they started on the 7th floor rooms yet?

Thanks in advance! :flower:
