When are they scheduled to be done with the renovations. We are supposed to go to the world in Oct and would love to go back to WL. I would really like to stay in the renovated room. Thanks for any responses.

Just returned from the world on Tuesday (5.30) and concierge confirmed that the last floor to be renovated was the 7th (club level) and would be completed the first week in august. We are going back for 11 days at the end of august and are looking forward to staying in a renovated room.

Do you know what floors they had done? We will be there in 10 days, I'm going to arrive for check in early with the hopes of scoring a newly renovated room. Here's hoping!

Me too! But we will only be there for 6 nights/7 days! Hoping for a newly renovated non smoking courtyard view room with bunk beds - I don't want much, do I? :rotfl2: Actually DS wants the room we had last year or one close by, so we can enjoy this view again -

My DH and I were discussing this very thing..and we also thought..take more hangers.

.....good idea! Probably easier to see what clothes you packed, AND, they will stay less wrinkled when hung up, instead of in a drawer..... :confused3

Beautiful view! Sounds great. We won't be fighting over the same room then, we have Woodsview and want 6th or 5th floor facing MK. Hope we both get what we want. pixiedust: Here is some pixie dust for us! Have a GREAT trip.

Okay my head is spinning!!! I have finally managed to read through this entire thread - many, many thanks to all of you who help introduce us "newbies" to the WL!!!

Myself, DH and DS5 are booked standard view Aug17-24 with the free dining plan!! I was so happy to take the "savings" from the free dining and be able to stay at the WL, now after reading this thread I'm even more so! :cool1:

 I do have a few questions, I hope I didn't overlook the answers while reading - forgive me if so....

I am interested in having DH rent a boat, I think the captain's plan (I think that's what it's called, you know four hours for $138) would be a good idea. For those who've rented from the WL care to chime in and tell me if this is a good idea, or should we do the plan from another location? :boat:

Also, DH loves to get massages. I wanted to arrange one for him but am uncertain whether to book through the fitness club at VWL or go through the spas at GF or SSR. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?? :scratchin

If anyone can give me any advice so I can arrange for DH to get spoiled while there I'd appreciate it - hey he tolerates not owning a boat or getting massages at home cuz of my disney addiction and the $$ necessary to pay for it, it's the least I can do!!! ;)

TIA

ajksmom...maybe you can reserve a few hours in the Cubs Den for your DS. This way you and your DH can have a few drinks in the Territory Lounge and have a nice quite dinner in Artist Point alone. Maybe you can do it the last night. By then you might need a few hours to yourself. I'm sure your son will love the Cubs Den. My kids did.

How did you know that I forgot to ask about the Cubs Den?

During past trips we've always had our older DS's with us and they've always kept an eye on him one night so we could venture out ~alone~. We've thought about using the Cubs Den for this trip. Great to hear your kids liked it.

Regarding lack of drawer space, I found a really good solution when we went on a cruise a few years ago.

I bought the collapsible hanging storage things (I think they call them sweater organizers) and put them in the closet, and stacked tee shirts, shorts, swimsuits, socks, underwear, etc in it. I also take a vertical shoe hanger, and it holds my shoes and purses. I also have a pop-up mesh hamper that I stick in the corner of the room, and dirty clothes go in it until we're ready to go home. They all three fold perfectly flat, and take up very little room. In fact, they fit in the outside flat zippered compartment on my biggest suitcase.

Here's a pic of the things I am talking about:

What a great idea. I love that sweater storer thingy. My boys' stuff would work great it that. Must add to my "Time to Shop for Disney List"

we were at WL in may, and we were on the 6th floor in room 6018 which was newly renovated. we also had a great view of cinderellas castle and the fireworks. you could see the castle through a hole in the trees, which was perfect:

I tried to post earlier...but the server was maxxed out.

My husband and I were very disappointed in the GF spa. It was tiny & not as relaxing as any other spa we've ever been to. We agreed that next time we'd probably try the other spa on property (Saratoga? Maybe one other?) or do an in-room massage!

When we were there they had blocked off the third floor and were just beginning to work on it on the 29th. Fourth, Fifth and sixth we could see from the 7th floor balcony and could see the new wallpaper and carpet. Im nervous im still not sure I am going to like the new decor, guess we will see in August!!!! Although the lodge did need sprucing up, we still love it there!

Thanks for the input. I found SSR's website and they have great sounding treatments!!! Maybe I'll sign DH up for one at each?? Boy, he'd be on :cloud9:

Thanks for posting those pictures. I have been dying to see some different ones. Those pictures make the rooms seem brighter. I hope someone post some pictures of the bunkbed rooms too.
