MagicinMyHeart and campinggal...

Thank you so much for the sweet words about the WL and all the great pictures! I appreciate it! :thumbsup2

I can't wait! :Pinkbounc

CuteAsMinnie that really is a great picture. It really makes me miss the lodge though. After my trip this past November my wife and I said that since our 9 day trip cost us so much money that we probably wouldn't be back for at least 3 years.......

I don't think I'm gonna last that long :teeth:

I'm right there with you Tardin! We were there June 2005 and it took me this long to post a single picture because it was just too painful! :guilty: We miss Wilderness Lodge soooooo much! We usually are able to go every three years because we stay for 9 or 10 days. We're pushing it up a year so we can go for our 20th Anniversary so we'll be there (God willing) next year.

  I think you should really save your pennies and surprise your wife next year too!!!!!

Ha....she should save her pennies and surprise me and our two daughters :teeth:

She enjoys disney but not as much as I do!!!

I like taking less trips but for longer amounts of time also. And I would also prefer spending more money to stay at the hotel we love :goodvibes

I would ask for a standard on the North side..they will give you an obstructed view of the MK..although the service entrance will be below you..it's kind of obstructed by trees. A standard view on the South side..has you face the parking lot and the bus stop.

All you guys who just booked.. will love it so much :goodvibes And Anna114, I know the exact spot you are talking about on the 4th floor :cloud9: There are so many of those little nooks around the lodge..it's so beautiful!

Thanks for replying! I'll see what I can do! :wizard:

Thanks to everyone that posts the great information on this thread. I dont post much on the DIS anymore but have stayed at the WL numerous times. This thread will give anyone all the information anyone needs. I came back today because I couldnt remember how big the Jr. Suites were (or whatever they call them now) and of course I found out what I needed. Thanks to all.

Calling all experts!! I have a question regarding this photo!!!!! As you are looking at it, the room in the top right corner on the "bear face" wall with the balcony facing the pool and bay lake, is that a guest room????? It appears to be on the 8th floor????? It looks as if it is a room in the corner all by itself. If so, anyone know what kind of guest room that is???

THANKS! :thumbsup2

Yes..I do believe, if we are looking at the same thing, that is a guest room on the concierge floor, who's interior door opens up to the lobby. It would be on the 7th floor however..as that is the # of floors the WL has :)

It's my first post to this thread due to our late summer trip to WL!! I also switched from POFQ recently. You've got to love that free dining!

Anyway, I was wondering if it was possible to see the MK fireworks from the beach area? I have a standard room booked so I don't expect to see the fireworks from the room. I am more than willing to go to the beach or wherever to see them from anywhere on the property. Any suggestions from any of you WL experts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joanne

I've been a lurker for a few months now and am happy to say that we are going to stay at the WL in June. We'll be traveling with our kids (ages 2, 4 and 6); my parents; and my sister and her family (kids ages 14 & 15). We are so excited and will have 3 rooms with courtyard views. Any particular area of the resort we should request? We are doing the dining package as well. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as it's tough to go through 2700 responses to get good info.

THANKS!

Unfortunately, you can't see the fireworks from the beach at WL as the beach faces opposite to the Magic Kingdom. You CAN see the electric water pagent though. :)

Your best bet to see fireworks (as our dear old friend Floridacat put it) is to check them out from the wings on the north side. The main building also known as the towers connect to the "wings" at a certain zigzag point in the hallways. Go there and stand at the window of the 6th floor halway. You should see them fine.

Also, any rooms on the north side that are high up might have a view as well. Of course, trees and vegetation can get in the way.

Good luck and most of all, enjoy your stay at Wilderness Lodge. Don't forget to pat the bear's nose to let the magic begin. :)

OK, I'm not saying where it is.... :smokin:

By the way, note the Hidden Mickey on the back of my hand...that developed as a direct result of my Disney addiction :rotfl2:

:) :) WILDERNESS LODGE ROOM RENOVATIONS :) :)

I read on another board about a guest who just returned from the WL and stayed on the 6th floor. The room was renovated with new furniture, bedspreads and a flat screen TV. No other details were given.

Anyone the exact details of WL room renovations or better yet, pictures?????

THANKS!! :cool1:

:wizard: By the way - we were able to see Wishes Fireworks from the WL boat dock each night we were there last June! :wizard:

I would like to see any photos of the renovated rooms as well. And for those interested, the WL furniture they collect as they renovate is on Ebay for sale right now. Last check, you could get a full room set up for $499.
