Are there ice machines in VWL? I searched around but couldn't find the answer. Thanks!

Yes, ::yes:: the Villas have ice machines not sure if on every floor, but every time I have stayed there was one on the floor we where on.

I looked thur my photo's and could only find one...sorry. I was staying in a Courtyard/Lobby room everytime we opened the door we had this view

Beckie- Oh WOW...courtyard off your balcony, Christmas tree out your front door. What a great room, especially for Christmas! What was the room number (you know me and WL room numbers :lmao: )

Ronald

It was taken just outside our room # 4079 Courtyard View Bear Face Room. I have been lucky to stay in this room several times while visiting the Lodge.

I also found these photo's that were taken by another Wilderness Lodge Vet Campinggal.

Wow- Beckie beat me to my own photos! Thanks Beckie! Isn't she such a huge help with WL info??? My DD and I got to meet her at our trip in Oct.

Sazzo's Mommy- The WL is a wonderful place to be during the holidays. OK, I'm biased and I like the WL anytime of year but the holidays seem even more special. Don't forget you can use your refillable mug for hot chocolate. Grab a cup and have a seat by the fireplace or up on the third floor (I think it is the third- you can see it from the lobby) there is a small sitting area with another fireplace that overlooks the lobby.

I don't get to pop in to this thread as much as I'd like but I'm happy to help answer questions when I do!

Happy planning

Guys, I know you'll understand what I'm talking about when I say that I can't contain my excitement any longer...to get to WL!

We go over maybe once a month, just to walk around, have a drink or meal, enjoy our favorite place, but we finally get to stay there again and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

I can't stay away from the boards, since that helps me maintain some level of sanity - :p , but I don't think I'm going to make it until June 18th...I'm going to have to go over next weekend I think to get it out of my system a bit!

I'm so sorry I posted your photo's before you got a chance. I had to go visit Humphrey's Home to find the actual room # from our trip and saw the beautiful photo's you took and wanted to share them with everyone. (Sorry) :confused3

 :Pinkbounc Just switched free dining ressie from CR to WL!!! YEA!! I've been trying and trying for over a month! Never been to WL and I have 4 children under 13 and I REALLY wanted to be in MK area for the dining options and transporation variety. I'm reading through the 2710 posts, but feel free to send me any info you think vital for single mom of 4 children! Thanks!! We're going to be standard view, 9/30-10/9, free dining. :goodvibes

Thank you! We will be staying in a studio and I figured that the refrigerator would not have a freezer compartment large enough for ice.

Well we were still at WL this time yesterday  Overall it was a wonderful resort! Checking in was great! It didn't take long at all (back in 2002 at CBR it took almost 2 hours) at the line never appeared long. We didn't get our bunkbeds they said if we wanted them we could have our room changed the next day, all we had to do is call. We got to our room... courtyard view :confused3 Sure if you stood up you there was a stonewall blocking the view if you sat down (room 2031, 2033 has the same problem. Bird poop all over the wall too) Well we decided to take a new room. Bad thing was we could not "move in" to our room but in the end it was all worth it. Our new room was 4148. The view was of the Villas but it was beautiful, I did go down to say that it was not a Courtyard view but it was explained to me it WAS a courtyard view just not our courtyard. Well that ticked me just a skosh, because the view was really nice, just looked more like a woods view.

The resort was SO wonderfully themed. The music when you opened the sliding doors in the am was wonderful. Went to the merchantile to see if they sold it....nope....but they did have a listing of all of the music so we can compile it ourselves(My first project as soon as I get the time). If anyone out there who likes a quite corner to read go to the 4th floor at the front of the building, a fireplace with a couple of choices to sit, just lovely and quite. My kids loved the pool. The hot tubs were lovely.

I loved the ferry to and from the MK but they need to make the seats a little lower, my legs swung because of my height 5'2" :rotfl: . Just a tad uncomfortable. As for Dis transportation it was generally good unless you were going to DTD or TL then it was quite long.

One thing that while it wasn't bad I would have liked better was the housekeeping. At CBR I loved our towel animals, so we were disappointed by the lack of them until the second to last day there was only only 1. We did leave a tip every day so I guess we just had a worker not a magic maker :sad2: . The other thing was on 4 of our 8 days something was left undone or just left (a pile of towels, cleaning product, pillow with no pillow case) Not really a big deal but it was more consistant then it should have been. The one day that the room was left "just lovely" I did call down to lodgekeeping to tell them how nice the room was and that I would like their supervisor to know.

One really great thing that I only recently found out about it Disney shipping. I had WAY too much stuff, so I took all of my stuff along with receipts, went to the Mercantile and sent it home. For those of you that are interested in doing this make sure the SKU starts with "400". They sent all of my gifts through UPS ground for $15.95. Just make sure you have all of the receipts. If you buy certain items at certain countries Disney can't replace them so you need to ship them at the front desk and it is VERY expensive. If anyone needs more explaining let me know I'll be glad to explain it fully.

All in all the WL was great! For those of you Lucky Dogs that are going soon and haven't been there you are in for a wonderful treat! For those of you in the know, like me now, I've found my Disney home.

Hi folks

I finally made the plunge and booked WL for June 13-18 - thanks for all the great info contained in here...I'm going to have to go through it all again!

I have a standard room booked - should I make a request for any particular wing or area for the room?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hi all,
Well I have been lurking along on this thread for about a month or so now and decided it was time to introduce myself. DH and I will be staying at WL in Sept by ourselves! Oh yeah, I am just a little bit happy about that! We have been to WDW many times, stayed at the Poly and stayed offsite. We have three kids 4, 6, and 9 and they are staying with their grandparents this trip. DH and I are trying out the free dining and while I tried to convince myself that with just two of us we could stay value, it soooo was not working. Then I realized that we could fulfill a long awaited dream of staying at WL since we wouldn't need a room for 5 people. That was it, and we were booked!!

We are booked for a courtyard view and all I want is not ground floor. Other than that I could not even care less because I am just so excited to be going!

Oh, and a fun note--a few weeks before this trip we are taking the kids to Yellowstone for a family trip. We will be sure to be checking out the Old Faithful Lodge so we can compare notes!! And I just recently found out that there is a place at Yellowstone called Artist Point. Need a little head slapping smilie for that one!!

Thanks for all the fabulous info on here--it is getting me even more geared up for our trip. One of these days I will get a little count down timer but since my kids don't know we are going yet and they sometimes read over my shoulder, I have to wait on that one!

I would ask for a standard on the North side..they will give you an obstructed view of the MK..although the service entrance will be below you..it's kind of obstructed by trees. A standard view on the South side..has you face the parking lot and the bus stop.

All you guys who just booked.. will love it so much :goodvibes And Anna114, I know the exact spot you are talking about on the 4th floor :cloud9: There are so many of those little nooks around the lodge..it's so beautiful!

Finally figured out how to post a picture and I really wanted to share this with all of you! :sunny: Isn't it beautiful morning at WL! :sunny:

Great photo, thanks for posting only 23 days until I'm there. You need to post it on the New Disney Resort picture of the day Thread.
