denisekayt,

I hadn't heard that about the conierge rooms but that would be nice.

We will be there tomorrow and I will ask them. :thumbsup2

I'm anxious to see what they 2 suites are going to look like after the rehab.

Thanks!! :)

The pics of the new rooms look great!!

Does anyone know if they are also redoing the villas at the Wilderness Lodge?

Nope the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge opened November 2000 just 5 1/2 years ago, there is no need for any refurbishments at the Villas to be scheduled. The Villas are very well maintained with general maintenance being done constantly.

The Lodge opened in May 1994 which means the old rooms have been in service 12 years. While most rooms were still in good shape, it was time for a major change.

Thanks for the reply.

We are staying at the villas at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time this summer!! :cool1:

I can't wait!

The Concierge floor will be renovated too, but will be last on the list.

Is there ANY one else who isn't too happy about the changes? I feel like I'm the only one. I think the white walls are too bright, I hate the brown and blue together, and why does it all have to look so southwest now? It was supposed to be designed after the Pacific NORTHwest!

Ok, rant over, I will still always love the Lodge, but not my room.
:guilty:

Thanks for letting me vent!

You're not the only one....I don't like the brown and blue either....I really liked the old bedspreads SO much better, and the new TV/drawer thingy just looks tacky to me :guilty:

I think maybe I had my hopes up too high since I have really, REALLY liked the re-dos that were done at the CR and the Poly.

Like you, I still love the Lodge, but I can't say I'm not a little disappointed.

Ok, so after that negative post, I had to come back...I just found the thread with pictures of the redone hallways. Now the hallways I LOVE! I really like the new walls being lighter and brighter.

I wish they would have done that theme for the rooms!

Well, first of all I really appreciate the pictures being posted.

But, :worried: I really don't think I like the rooms either! I know everyone who has been there has reported that they really are beautiful, but so far I just can't see it. I agree that the rooms seem to have a southwest theme and who in the world puts green and blue together unless it is a very deep hunter green with a very very deep blue??

All of us here are very very sad. Especially DS (10). When we showed him the pics, he just hung his head and walked away saying "this is not my place anymore. " Only DH says wait until more pictures come out and re-evaluate.

Sigh.......

Well I'm glad I'm not alone. It resembles Coronado Springs' a bit in the rugs and Aztec looking designs.

My DH and I are glad to be staying in Concierge next month, since those rooms haven't been done yet, we'll get one last time in the decor we loved.
:sad2:

Can't please everyone I know.

I think for those of use that have stayed at the lodge before it's going to take a bit of getting used to.

A few things....

The fridge must now be in the spot where that little bank of drawers were when you first walked in the room I guess.

I loved the old armoires but I think the flat screen TV being closer to the wall will make the room seem bigger.

Also, the square table is so much better. having a round table up against a wall makes no sense.

Having the extra mirror over the table is a plus for those of us with a few girls in the family, all trying to get ready at the same time :)

The new headboards are great. I kind of miss the old wall lamps over the bed though.

Well first - Yippy Zippy the pictures have been posted!!

ie on the "southwest" feel - I can see that - but the bedspread blue and brown, lol reminds me of the poly colors!! (and I know its not even close to being exact - but I wonder if its the same company!! - )and it will be over 100 days before I can "Feel" for myself!! so as far as that goes... :goodvibes I'm more than ready!!

Off topic but I know you WL vets can help me. ONLY 20 MORE DAYS TIL' WE ARE "HOME" at WL!!! :cool1:

I just made a last minute ADR for our first night at Spoodles, wanted to give it a try after seeing good reviews for it (and not being able to get in at WCC before 9:00 UNREAL). Anyway, I know you can walk from Spoodles to Epcot but how do we get from WL there? Should we take a DTD bus, if so, which stop? If not, do we take the Epcot bus? How far of a walk are we talking and how do you get from where they would drop you off at Epcot to DTD??
Any help would be great!

I hope I am reading this right. You want to know how to get from Spoodles, then Epcot, then the WL? You're right, walk over to Epcot using the International Gateway. Then you can get back to WL from Epcot by taking the WL bus. Or if you prefer not to go back to Epcot, use the "Boardwalk" bus and go to DTD, and then take the WL bus from DTD back to the Lodge. I think it would be easier to do Epcot-WL..than BW - DTD - WL. The walk from Spoodles to the IG of Epcot, then you'd have to go out thru the WS and FutureWorld..but I still think time-wise..it would be alot quicker.

First are you planing on using an admission ticket for your first day, and do you have Park Hoopers?

If you don't necessarily want to go to EPCOT and walk all the way back to World Showcase then to International Gateway. You could take the direct bus to Magic Kingdom from WL, then just take a bus to Boardwalk Inn from MK.

Using the Magic Kingdom as your bus trasfer point is much faster then DTD.

When you are ready to return to Wilderness Lodge take the bus back to Magic Kingdom then bus to Wilderness Lodge or just jump on the boat to MGM and catch the bus back to Wilderness Lodge...both of these trips will require MK and MGM to be open but you won't have to actually go inside either park so no admission ticket would be required.

If you are going to be pressed for time just take a Taxi, the rates are low and either way you will save from 45 minutes to an hour travel time.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. It is much easier using MK as a bus transfer point then DTD.

Have a great time and be sure to report back.
