We are leaving tomorrow for a surprise trip for the children. I will be at the lodge from Thursday to Sunday. I cant wait!!!!!

That is so cool that you are surprising your kids!!!! (you too lorasmom) I wish I could do something like that but I am the worst. I would never be able to hold a surprise like that but have always wanted to. You'll have to report back with their awesome reaction!!!!!

And to all of you who are going soon have a wonderful trip!!!! I am sooooooooo jealous!!!! I have never been there during the holidays but from what everyone says it is supposed to be beautiful!! Enjoy

When do the room assigners get your reservation? We'll be at the WL in 10 days and I have yet to put a room request on our reservation. I never could make up my mind what to ask for (courtyard view). The only request I'm sure of is I want a view of Silver Creek Springs and not the Villa pool so I'm just going to request that. I hope its not too late!

From what I have heard they look at it 3-4 days before you come. Also they say that you have a better shot at your request if you limit the amount..for ex inner courtyard -silver creek springs or upper floor near elevator as opposed to a specific floor with an exact room # ect. Yes, there are bunkbed rooms there or really close to your vicinity i.e. overlooking the springs!

There are bunkbed rooms throughout the resort (except for the standard view rooms) so requesting North wing for the courtyard view should not be a problem.

Hey y'all! I just read on another thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1646461 that there were changes last month to the boats at the resorts.

Can anyone confirm this? If it is true, that's a good thing for access to MK. Beckie, can you update the front page of this thread if this pans out?

There are 2 Motor Launches (GOLD FLAG) that run from the MK to the GF and Poly before returning to the MK. These launches run from 0830 to 45 minutes after the MK closes.

***The WL is now serviced by 2 Motor Cruisers (RED FLAG) and begin running each day at 0830 and terminate operations about 1 hour after the MK closes. These 2 RED FLAG boats run only between the MK and the WL.

*** The FWC is now serviced by 1 motor cruiser and 1 motor launch (GREEN FLAG) running each day from 0830 until about 1 hour after the MK closes. These boats run only between the MK and the FWC.

The 2 Motor Launches (BLUE FLAG) on Bay Lake serving the CR, WL and the FWC begin service at 0645 daily. They both run clockwise until 3 p.m. and then reverse direction at 3 p.m. These launches run until 2330.

***NOTE: If you want to go to the GF/Poly from the WL, CR or FWC by boat, you will have to go to the MK and then get the Gold flag launch. In addition, there is no boat that goes directly from the CR to the MK, GF or Poly. Additional boats may be added to the Gold, Green, Red and Blue routes during periods of exceptionally high demand - like at heavy MK closings - to alleviate the guest lines at the docks. Additionally for all motor launches, strollers must be folded prior to boarding and ECVs cannot be accommodated on motor launches under any circumstances.

When we were there at Thanksgiving, this is the way it was running. It was great. I remember a few trips ago we often went from WL to Ft. Wilderness or visa versa before MK. The trips seemed much quicker with the dedicated boat service!

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the lodge! We had 2157..inner courtyard with bunk beds. It was a great view and waas nice to be on the same floor as the lobby. mercantile, etc. My In-laws had the connecting room, 2159 with 2 queens. Sally was our Mousekeeper and she was WONDERFUL!!! she gave the kids towel animals and one night my son lost his tooth, so I put it in a cup and labeled it so it wouldn't get thrown out till I could find a safe place to put it...she left something from the tooth fairy for him! We had brought bunches of glow bracelets for the kids to give out in the parks and had a bunch left, so we asked if she could use them, and she was thrilled...such a sweet, sweet lady!

The Lodge was decorated beautifully for Christmas...I wish we could have stayed longer. We went over to the Villa's to check out Walt's trains and it was so peaceful over there...we may try and rent points and stay there next time...never tried renting points before, so we'll see.

We had no transportation issues, everything was smooth...liked the new boat system...hope it stays that way.

That's how it was when we were there....it was great to not have to stop somewhere else first! I'm not sure if the change is permanent or not...the signs were changed by placing a magnet with the new info. on top of the existing info...it looks like they may just be trying it out....I hope it's permanent though!
