Welcome to the WL! You'll fall in love with it. Can I ask when you booked your deluxe room for Oct 2008? I've been trying to get a deluxe in that time frame and haven't had any luck. Maybe some more rooms just opened.

I booked last night 3/10, although I have been researching several options for a few weeks now.

Just make sure you check concierge in the options, otherwise it doesn't come up, it took me a while to find it !

I have a question re. room service.

Can an adult order childrens plates successfully? Or do they have a crazy database where you order a kids plate and they look and see that there are no kids in the room. We're planning to do room service for breakfast and I have a v. small appetite.

I just spent a wonderful 2 weeks at the WL in september, and I was looking to repeat that in December but no luck :( Oh well, next time! The WL rocks!

Reading this made me soooooo thankful that my MBA is finally complete (just finished 2 months ago) :cool1: I've been there in trying to find internet access including this last trip which involved taking 2 laptops (1 for work and 1 for classes).

Anyways, there are NO public access computers at the WL. If you choose not to take a laptop you would have to go do one of the "convention" hotels and use their business center. The two that I am aware of are Contemporary and Coronado Springs. As the Contemporary is only a quick boat ride away it would be your best bet. However, the times are sometimes not the greatest.

Also it can be quite costly. If you post this as a question on the esort board someone should be able to answer the cost or provide you with a phone # for the resort to ask the business center.

IMO if you need internet access I'd lug the laptop. Good luck!

Awww! Thanks for understanding and for helping out with my question. I probably will end up bringing the 'ol 12 pound laptop with me. I called the Contemporary's business center. They are only open during the day, and it costs $10 for every 15 minutes you use the computer! ouch!
In any case, this weekend is very much needed (even if I do have to squeeze a bit of homework into it!).

I am sooooo excited. We are arriving at WL on Sat.Just 1 more day:banana:  .
Just a quick thanks to everyone here for answering all my crazy questions. This is our 1st stay here. We cant wait!!!:goodvibes

Hi everyone! We are booked & officially set for Dec. 4-14 2008~! lol :) This will be our first stay at WL and I am super excited!

Our family will be traveling to the WL for the first time June 14-21 for a Magical Gathering. We had originally booked CBR, but I got concerned about staying there when I found out the main pool was going to be closed during our dates, so, I talked DH into the WL:cool1: . There will be 12 of us in 3 rooms standard view. My father will be traveling with an ECV, and I am concerned about what room requests to make. Should I ask for something close to the elevators, to make it easier for him? How difficult will it be for him to navigate around WL with the ECV? Anyone have any pointers? Thanks for the help!!! I am sure the closer to trip I will have a lot more questions.

Hi,
I can't help with your room request, but my limited experience at the WL tell me he'll have no accessibility issues (except getting on the boats??? dunno about those). Anyway, I wanted to point out that storing an ECV will require a lot of extra space in your room. For a room that will be crowded with 4 people already, that may become an issue. I haven't stayed in a bunk bed room, but that may alleviate the issue somewhat since the bunks take less space than a queen. Anyway, just thought you'd want to consider that.

Thanks for the info. I had thought about requesting a bunkbed room for one of the rooms, so I guess I will do that.

My opinion is that you should do 2 things about the room requests: 1. keep reading this thread as many people will give you great advice and 2. call Central reservations and/or WL and ask about room convenience and the ECV, most likely they will be very helpful with you.

Enjoy your trip, you will love WL.

You have posted that you have booked standard view rooms, unfortunately none of these rooms have Bunk Beds available. You would have to change your room to either Wood or Courtyard View with Bunk Beds. (Bunk beds cost more per night) I have seen guest with ECV's park them outside their rooms, while they charge.

Will you father need a accessible room during his stay or just the ECV because of the extra walking? I know that sounds very personal but Disney has a group that assist guest with special needs. The Wilderness Lodge has rooms that may make his stay more comfortable. There will be a wealth of information over on the disABILITIES Board.

My post on page 1 of this thread has the boat information you will need for ECV access., for the boats.

I do have standard rooms booked, so I will probably just stay with that. Dad only needs the ECV because of the extra walking, and in fact he and mom will "share" it. This will be their first trip to DW, and we are also taking all 5 of their great granddaughters. Thanks for all the information, I am sure I will have lots more questions.

Just back from a great first stay at the WL. It was me, DW, and DD (4). Arrived on Sunday morning and while our room was not yet ready, we were promptly checked in and given our park tickets. The whole process took about 15 minutes, and we were on our way. We had a woods view room on the north side. The location was perfect for access to the MK boat and Roaring Forks. We loved the WL and will definitely be there again the next time we head to Disney.

My only complaint was the sporadic bus service. When staying at a deluxe you should get direct service to the parks in the morning. As I have seen reported, and I forgot about, our bus stopped at Fort Wilderness on the way to EPCOT. If I had remembered this little fact I would have just driven myself to EPCOT. One afternoon we had to wait at least 20 minutes for an MK bus and I know there were other guests that had been waiting before we walked up. With MK being the closest park, logic would dictate that the buses would come more frequently.

However, this did not take away from a wonderful overall stay.

We're leaving one year from today. :cool1: The big countdown starts!! I booked 2 standard rooms, connecting requested because 1 month ago their were no deluxe rooms (our preference) available. I've been checking online for any deluxe rooms to open up, and today at the 1 year to our trip date, one opened up. Coincidence or not?? I was told every time I called that all rooms were booked, and no rooms were not "closed" for booking.

I did take a look at the info on the Old Faithful Club on page 1 of this thread, but was wondering if anyone has been their recently with any recent info. I also see their is wine and cheese selections, is beer available? Thanks.
