We got home 2 hours ago from our first time at WL. It was great fun and we are already planning our return trip for Dec, 2009.

OK, I've had enough of you folks and your countdowns. You've just made me jealous, that's all (see my sig).

Let's talk about what's great about the lodge, where you'd prefer to stay, what thread count the linens are, and whether they'll bring back the WL refillable mugs. These are important matters that we have been neglecting! No WL trivia is too small, no detail too arcane for us to discuss. I want to reminisce, dadgummit, and motivate me to plan a return trip.

Don't just sit there packing and going to the WL, talk about the WL! :cheer2:

LOL!! Here, here!

Can I make a request? I saw a screensaver photo thread on the Theme Park Strategies board. Does anyone want to post their best WL photos (suitable for screensavers and desktops) in a full-sized format (1024x768). I'd love to add them to my new Disney screensaver.

Thanks.

We won't be there until Aug 08, but I would love to know all the "ins & outs".
What the best thing to eat at Artist Pointe? What's the best drink to have at poolside? Best place to take a pic of the geyser? How hard or easy is it to become a flag family? Where to watch the fireworks, at the pool, from your room, on the roof?!?!?!
We don't know a thing about WL, so all you veterans out there, help us out!!! ;)
Thanks!!

Well, it looks like we'll be making our 2nd trip to the Lodge this Nov!

We're trying to get in for the end of F&W, and right now I have an AP CV rate at WL--if something opens up so we can use our DVC pts I might switch, but now I don't know if I can give up staying at WL again!

Last Dec was our first stay at WL (some day I'll finish that trip report!), and it was wonderful. I was going through Disney-planning withdrawl... I'm so happy to have a trip to plan again!

I do have a question for you though, about the safes. If I remember correctly, there is a small safe in the room. So, how secure is that safe? If I had something small, but very valuable, would it be safer to keep it there, or is there a "safer" safe at the front desk? (did that make sense?)

Thanks! :)

WELCOME to our humble group! I'll answer all I can.

Artist Point - I haven't tried everything but the Cedar Plank Salmon and the Buffalo Steak were delicious. For dessert I prefer the Coffee Two Ways to the cobbler. Coffee and chocolate are two passions. Ice wines were good - got to taste 2 for free(long story). Wait staff is incredible.

Poolside drink - gotta ask DW, I was too busy IN the pool with the kids.

Geyser picture - from the walkway by or from your window if you're lucky.

Flag family - depends on how busy the lodge is and how long you stay. Try to sign-up at check-in. In June when we went they were booked for 10 days. An option is to wait around in the lobby at 8 AM and see if the Flag Family shows up.

Fireworks - can only be seen decently from the upper floors on the North side. These are all Woods view or Standard view rooms. We watched from the 6th floor corridor one night and had a decent view, along with another family. Worked out well for DD who doesn't like the noise.

Keep asking questions!

I had heard that there is a great YOAMD drink available at WCC. Is it also available at the pool bar or any other bars in WL?
