HUH?!?!?! What is that?:confused3

Sorry, I guess I abbreviated too much!
I heard on another thread that there is a great Year Of A Million Dreams drink that is available at Whispering Canyons Cafe. I was just wondering if there was anywhere else at WL where you can get it.

gotcha! :thumbsup2
I think I read somehwere that they are extending the YOMD (;) ) thing thru 2008, so maybe we'll luck out and they will still have it when we get there. I wonder what's in it!
sounds like it could be very yummy!!! :yay:

If they extended it, maybe they don't think they can reach 1 million dreams by the end of 2007. :scared:

Perhaps it will become Decade of a Gazillion Dreams?

I do have a question for you though, about the safes. If I remember correctly, there is a small safe in the room. So, how secure is that safe? If I had something small, but very valuable, would it be safer to keep it there, or is there a "safer" safe at the front desk? (did that make sense?)

I have never had a problem with any of the safes at WDW, if you have something that valuable that you would be worried about it in the safe in your room...I wouldn't bring it on vacation.

Heading home for a 3 day weekend tomorrow! I can't wait. Hopefully this will keep us satisfied until our weeklong trip in December.:)

/
We won't be there until Aug 08, but I would love to know all the "ins & outs".
What the best thing to eat at Artist Pointe? What's the best drink to have at poolside? Best place to take a pic of the geyser? How hard or easy is it to become a flag family? Where to watch the fireworks, at the pool, from your room, on the roof?!?!?!
We don't know a thing about WL, so all you veterans out there, help us out!!! ;)
Thanks!!

Yes! We want to be "in the know"!
January will be only our second trip to WDW and our first to WL. Just DH and I for a weekend. I'm so excited!!:cool1:

Of course we have already decided, after seeing the resort when we ate at Whispering Canyon on our family trip last year, that we sooo want to be DVC members, and this MUST be our home resort!

So I'll keep reading and hope to pick up some tips from you WL vets out there!:thumbsup2

I don't think that you can buy it through Disney anymore (WL Villas). You may be able to buy it from someone who is looking to sell. I think they have sites about that stuff.

4 more days for us! Can't wait.

It is going to be a big surprise for my family but I booked the VP suite for the last two nights of our stay (Jan. 1-3). We have not been to WDW for a long time (approx. 5 years) and I want to make it extra special. Part of the reason for the trip is my dd's 13th bday. Sooooooo, here are my many questions.
1. Is this room considered concierge level? If so, will they contact me regarding extra services? I have already made my dining ressies but would love help with a special bday surprise! Any ideas???
2. Does this room have a view of the MK fireworks?
3. Since we will be coming here from another Disney resort (CSR), what is the best way to arrive? We were planning on going to MK first, and then checking in when we are ready for our afternoon break. Should we go right to WL first instead??? Remember, it will be a secret so I am looking forward to the look of surprise when we are hopefully greeted in a special way (escorted to our room?)
4. Any other tips to make our trip special would be greatly appreciated! We are eating at WCC so should we let them know about dd's bday? Is that a good place to celebrate?

THANKS!!!!

Oh, one more thing...
We have never stayed at the WL or Disney concierge, so any info is greatly appreciated!!!!

Well, it looks like we'll be making our 2nd trip to the Lodge this Nov!

We're trying to get in for the end of F&W, and right now I have an AP CV rate at WL--if something opens up so we can use our DVC pts I might switch, but now I don't know if I can give up staying at WL again!

Last Dec was our first stay at WL (some day I'll finish that trip report!), and it was wonderful. I was going through Disney-planning withdrawl... I'm so happy to have a trip to plan again!

I do have a question for you though, about the safes. If I remember correctly, there is a small safe in the room. So, how secure is that safe? If I had something small, but very valuable, would it be safer to keep it there, or is there a "safer" safe at the front desk? (did that make sense?)

I think the safe is "safe" lol. It is built into the wall but not very deep. We put our wallets into them when we are at the parks so we only have to take our id and room key to charge on. They seem to be heavy duty.

Good morning, I will try and answer your questions. First of all:

CONGRATULATIONS!! Great Room :thumbsup2

1. Yes, the room is on the 7th floor and you do have Club Level access and all the amenities. The IPO should be contacting you soon, but if they don't I would give them a call or email them. When they do contact you, ask them about helping you set up something special. wdw.wlodge.itinerary.planning@disney.com; Phone (407)824-2466.

2. No, the room does not have a view of the MK fireworks. It will have a nice view of the Electric Water Parade. But, to view the fireworks all you have to do is walk out of your room and make a right to the windows down the hall and you will have a great view!!

3. Checking in all depends on whether the room will be ready or not. I personally would transfer my luggage and check in first thing, but that is me. Someone from concierge should come downstairs and greet you and bring you upstairs. If your room is ready, they will bring you to it, if not, they will check you in and give you your keys so you can start your day. You can give them a cell phone number and they will call you when your room is ready. Hopefully, it will be ready and you will have a great start to your day!! Remember, the boat goes directly to the MK from the lodge.

4. Yes, definitely let WCC know about the birthday!!

Good luck, and hope you have a great time!!! :dance3:

not to be a bubble buster, but it has been very difficult to become a flag family. When were were there in July, it was booked for 12 days.

I didn't even mention it to the kids because I didn't want to upset them if we didn't get to be the flag family.

Here's some pixie dust for you and your family.pixiedust:

Whew!! Just got back...TONIGHT. 10 days and our first stay at the lodge. We were the flag family, got a wonderful upgrade and I'll give details in my upcoming trip report. For those who can't wait, we were upgraded from standard room and view to inner courtyard with bunk beds!! Our trip was filled with dreams:cloud9: . We're all very sleepy but feel free to ask any questions.

Sounds like your trip was great! Would you mind posting a link to your trip report here when you get it going? Just wondering, when you asked about the flag family did you have to wait till close to the end of your trip for an available day? I'm really not getting my hopes up that we can do this but I think it would be awesome! Glad you had a great time!
