I just got off the phone and there are no AP rates at the WL at all for Dec 8-13 (at this time anyways) On Friday Dec 7, they did have the Yosemite Suite available for $866.00 a night!!:rotfl:

I got the quote from DU for our trip! The agent was able to secure the AAA rate, so I am happy about that.

June 5-14
Courtyard Bunkbed
$3231 (2 adults, 1 teen, 1 child)

Now I just need to talk to the in laws and we'll be set! I need to email the agent back and ask about sinking the ressies to at least get adjoining rooms if we cannot get connecting. And I also want to request inner courtyard.

With all due respect, you want to "sync" the reservations, not sink them.

That sounds like a great price. how many days of park tix did you get? did you get the DDP?

KEEP CALLING!!! I have been so frustrated the past 2 days. Got my PIN postcard last night after CRO closed. Don't have a visa. Don't have APs yet. Called off and on all day (and so did DU) and was getting nowhere except the AKL.
But . . . :pixiedust: Just called to cancel the AKL hold - and voila! I could have ctyd view with queens for 12/2 - 12/7. Do I want $1393 with tax and 2 1d MYW base tickets, or $1125 for AP rate??? :pixiedust: Yippeee! AP rate needs to be better, so we upgraded and took the PIN rate for only $35 more than our std rack ressie. AND I don't have to change outside the blackout dates to do it!
Now, how do I get a bear face room?

Oh, and the very nice CM said, "there will be some noise since there will be exterior painting at the WL." Who cares!

Note to self, do NOT try to do ebay auctions and DIS at the same time! Ugh, I should have proof read that, oops!

The quote from DU was for room only with tax, no park tix or DDP. I am guessing it is the straight 10% AAA discount. We are planning on 10 day park hoppers and DU has those for $270 on their website.

And I couldn't get anything with the Visa code for 12/16-12/22.
We could not get a discount for WL for our dates of 12-16 to 12-22 either!! So SAD!! So, I cancelled and re-booked at the POFQ for 12-14 to 12-19 so we could take advantage of the GREAT savings! It was only $105 per night!! I will be SAD that we will NOT be at the Lodge and who knows maybe they will open up some more rooms there? I will call daily to check it out but will not be upset if nothing opens up. We LOVE both resorts and will find lot's of ways to spend all that extra $$$$$ we saved. GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!!!

So here's a question I haven't seen answered. We will have a courtyard view, and I'm requesting a lobby room. Is there a floor with sitting areas within sight of the lobby/courtyard rooms? I might request that floor, since I'd love to have the option of overlooking the lobby with my book and baby monitor while DD naps.

If you've requested a lobby room and get it, there shouldn't be a problem. Each of the floors in the lobby have seating areas. Hope this helps.

YAY!!!! Congrats! I was just going to PM you , but saw this, so I thought I'd say Hi! We were unable to apply the code to our ressie, but have a good deal through AAA, so we will be at WL 12-1 to 12-5!!!! Maybe I'll see you there!

I decided to call a AAA agent talk to see about rates. I know DU will be the same discount rate, but I wanted to go ahead and see what it would be with the DDP. I was shocked when the agent told me the DDP was $30.XX instead of $37.99 for 2008! That cannot be right! I am anxiously waiting to see what total she gives me.

Thank goodness for AAA 'cause my AP hasn't been helpful AT ALL as far as resort discounts go. Four trips this year an not one offered an AP discount. (Nov./Dec '06, Feb, June and Oct.) I decided to get AAA just for the 15% WDW discount last year and I'm very glad I did!

New here. Great info and I like how things have been organized throughout the forums. Kudos to those who keep it going.

We have a WL courtyard view room with disabled access and roll-in shower from 10/17/07 to 10/23/07. Also added airfare and MYW+dining. Party is 2 adults, 2 children (6 & 2). 6-yr old is severely disabled and in wheelchair. Every time I call to check for a better deal or other inquiry there is a delay while the CM gets permission from "special services" to access our reservation. Is this because we have an accessible room? Usually on hold for about 10 to 20 minutes while they do this. They have also told me it is listed as a "comp" room reservation. Does that mean they are adding the adjoining room as a "comp" to accomodate our party of four because the roll-in shower rooms may only have one king bed?

I have also checked the latest discount frenzy codes discussed on another thread and they could not apply it to our WL reservation.

Ok, vets, I need some input. I have quotes from DU and AAA. They are:

June 5-14, 2008
Bunkbed rooms/courtyard

DU:
$3231 room only (park tix would be $1113)
AAA:
$4469.19 room/10day park hopper/ins
$5584.83 DDP/10day park hopper/ins

I found a nonstop/roundtrip flight for $225 a person and the AAA agent told me to jump all over that! I know I need to figure out if the DDP is really worth it this time around, but WWYD? Oh, we added the trip ins because we will be traveling with FIL who has had some health issues the past couple of years. I thought it might be safer to add it for piece of mind.

I just got an email from my TA. She was able to use the discount code for our trip and we got upgraded to a Courtyard View (from Standard)...

Now I'm going to have to go back and see where the good Courtyard View rooms are.... any suggestions for one that is not too noisy???

Thanks :cool1:

I'm not sure if you know this, but the DDP has been changed for 2008. They have removed the appetizer, and you now have to pay the gratuity. That may account for the cheaper price. You can look on the Disney Web site, I had heard the rumor, and now it is official.

Yes, I think it makes booking a little more complicated because in essence, you need 2 rooms, and there are only a handful of rooms that will work for you. There is a great DISabilities board on here too, that you will probably find very helpful...if you haven't found it already, go check it out....they may know of a "special services" # you can call so you don't get transferred all over the place all the time.

I always get confused when people are worried by this..... I believe that unless you are on the ground floor and need to nap during the day you will be allset.

I have always had a courtyard and never had a problem with noise. We have brought our chilredn every year since the youngest was 3 and now she is 8, so we certainly have hit the napping stage and still noise was never an issue. I think you will be fine anywhere.

After looking at menus, making a spreadsheet and comparing prices I have decided it is in our favor to NOT do the dining plan. So now all I need to do it wait on the TA to call back with the ILs' quote and we will be booked! WL, here we come!

Good Morning WL Vets~
I am stying (for the first time) at the WL in August 2008. I have two children (ages 8, and age 5) and a DH. Anyway, I have booked and paid for my room at the WL and received an emailed itinerary and confirmation stating that I booked a woodview with bunk beds. My kids have their hearts set on bunk beds (its the simple things...). Does this mean I automatically have bunk beds, or should I keep confirming?
Also, what things at the WL should I not miss. I really want to be a flag family (and I am hoping that because my husband came back from Iraq- the story might help). But what else should I not miss while we stay there?
I want to take a boat to the fireworks- whcih should I choose? What times do they leave? And, will I be back in tiem for the water pageant?

Is there something I should call about before I arrive? Has anyone used the Cub's Den childcare? What is the security like at the childcare facility?
ANy advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also.. sorry for the length... would this be the appropriate thread to ask if someone wanted to share a boat? When it gets closer to reservation time.
~Connecticut
