Any WL vets or recent visitors able to tell me if they sell baby food in the resort store? (I asked on the "Families" thread and didn't really have luck getting info there.) I am going to have to pack some baby food, but I am just curious about what kind of supplies they have there. Also, can I find fresh fruit there, like    ?

Thanks!

Yes they do, it's located in the back by the coolers.

Does anyone know what kind of Christmas music they play at WL? It is old fashioned Christmas Carols (Bing Crosby etc), fun oldies or instrumental?

Thanks so much!! :)

Also would like to know what kind of music they play during the holidays... ??
Thanks all! :)

Do they do hidden Mickey hunts in the WL? :)

Yes, they do. On a rainy afternoon while DW rested, the kids and I roamed all over looking for them. Ask at the concierge desk for the quiz. We didn't finish it - some were really tough.

BTW, I think the WL looks even more beautiful in the rain - it just fits the theme so well. I can just picture it...
*&^%! Here I am, it's 95 outside and I'm dreaming of hot chocolate and fireplaces!

I'm not ignoring the question but I can't help you there. I've seen the pictures but don't know the music. Maybe Beckie (MAGICinMYHEART) can help when she gets back.

Hey all!

so I was at the WL in July and absolutely full in love with my new Disney home away from home! This place is absolutely beautiful!

So...I've decided to book a stay there for my honeymoon in May 2008...shhh...don't tell DF, she thinks we're staying at POFQ...lol....I'm trying to be sneaky and not blow the surprise! She loves the look of the WL!

So anywho...I've currently book us into the WL with a Woods View room. Curious to know what the odds of landing a King Bed are? When I made the reservation the lady went nuts when I mentioned it was our honeymoon and said she put HONEYMOON all over the reservation. I requested a King Bed room...what are the odds I'll get one?

Also, can anyone suggest a room number or two to request for a nice Woods View King room on an upper level? Hoping not to get stuck on the first floor.

I'd appreciate the help!

Hope to see lots of you fine WL vets over the next few months as I'll be around. Hope to make some new friends! :goodvibes

Cheers,
Josh

I so agree! I loved sitting on the balcony watching the rain on our trip last summer. I took lots of great pics on one of the rainy days while we took a mid-day break.

Im sure this has been addressed before but if someone can help.
I read that that boats start operation approx 1 hr prior to MK opening. So if MK opens at 9am that means boats dont start until 8am(ish). I have bkfst res at MK fot 810am so I would have to take the direct bus??Am I understanding that correctly? This is for reg hours not EMH.

There are 2 boats..the Blue Flag boats start running at 7AM so you'll be fine for your breakfast reservations.

We just did this exact scenario 2 weeks ago.

We took a $5 cab ride to the Contemporary with the intention of hopping the monorail. The valet guys at the Contemporary told us just to walk there, it is much quicker.

I never had a clue how close the CR is to the MK. Its a short and easy 5 minute walk "just follow the path".

Remember the park doesn't even open up until 8a, so you don't have to plan on being the any sooner than that.

Another tip. Call valet services from your room at the WL and tell them you want a cab. This way, the cab will be there when you get downstairs.

I'm ready to go back, aren't you?! Too bad we didn't run into each other since we were both there the same time!

I hear ya. I just can't get the lobby out of my mind. We spent so much time there while we let the kids go by themselves to the game room.

We like to try a new resort every year and the CR or YC is up next......I think we are going to WL next year. Don't tell DH though, because this was his pick and I fought him tooth and nail on WL because I am SOOO anti-nature,:rotfl: but I figured I had to let him have a say at least once :goodvibes Turns out, I fell in love with the place.

thats so good to hear, because i'm so anti-nature im worried I won't like it! :scared1:

So...any thoughts on my honeymoon/King bed question? :)

Glad to see how excited you all are about the WL...I'm excited too...why is May such a long time away?

Cheers.

Can anyone tell me what kind of Christmas music they play at WL? It is old fashioned Christmas Carols (Bing Crosby etc), fun oldies or instrumental?

Thanks so much!! :)

I was just browsing iTunes because I knew there was a Wilderness Lodge iMix out there and I was considering uploading it to my iPod to listen to on the way down and I found an IMix list called "Christmas at the Wilderness Lodge" This may help you out... it looks like most of the songs on the list are from "A Windham Hill Christmas" and John Tesh's "A Family Christmas" so I would categorize those as traditional/homey types.

I don't have a URL but if you search for it, you'll find it.

Do any of the woods view rooms face the service area, or are the std view rooms the only ones that do? I was curious because I upgraded to a woods view instead of the std. Thanks!

Do standard rooms overlook the lobby. I've heard that the noise is loud at the end of the day, and makes it hard to get to sleep.:cloud9:

We were in a courtyard view the last time we were there and our door opened to the lobby, we were not bothered by any noise even with DS1 (at the time). I guess it might be noisy if you were right above WC, but we were okay with it.
