OK, I'll give it a go:

Wilderness Lodge Mini-DIS Meet:
Date: December 9, 2006
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm(maybe remeet after carriage ride)
Loaction: Near the Bridge inside?? I don't know the lodge well enough to set an exact Meeting place.

We are still in the very early planning stages for our 2008 trip and have a few questions.

I thought I read that you can now pay extra for a bunk bed room but when I go to the WDW website the rate is not there. Is that an option or did I dream that?

Also, does anyone have a picture of the bunk bed rooms? At this point we cannot decide if we want WL or CR and I want to arm myself with pictures for my SIL.

Thanks!

As of yesterday, Sunday, November 5 the scaffolding remains in the SW Corner Tower and then around the corner of Artisit Point continuing to the entrance doors across from the Roaring Forks. We were there for nine nights and only heard construction noise once! Although some photos may show the scaffolding and it may appear to be obtrusive it is not! These renovations definately did not impact our enjoyment at all!

Hello... We just got back from a trip to WL at the end of Sept and I am trying to put together a photo album for my in-laws for Christmas... unfortunately I did not get a lot of good shots of the WL and I was wondering if anybody would have any hi-res pics to share? Mostly I am looking for a pic of the lobby, The courtyard, the fireplace, the waterfall, and maybe the outside of the hotel. Thanks alot!! :cool1:

I still can hardly believe we're really going to stay at the Lodge, if only for a couple days. DH and I are both excited by the prospect of spending some time at our favorite resort, and we leave in three days. I have started a pre-trip report, if anyone is interested

I know I read somewhere that there is a place to get hair wraps at WL. Is this right? :confused3 :If so, where and are the hours very limited?

Thanks! :wave2:

I am new to this thread and am debating on staying here or my favorite AKL for my honeymoon next year and can't decided. SO I am here trying to find everything I can out about WL. Now I have a ways to go to make it through this thread so I was hoping you all could help me "cheat" and give me some answers right away.

First did all the room get renovated with the flat screen TV's and new head boards?

Also are there a lot of King size bed rooms there?

Lastly with the Woods view room do any of them over look the loading docks or anything?

Ok I lied one more question...if you stay Courtyard view can you request a view of the lake?

TIA in advance. :goodvibes

::yes:: Yes- there is a hair wrap station right next to the pool. I can't remember the exact hours but I do remember that they open at 10 am. I want to say they are there during the day- like 10-4 or something like that.

My daughter looks forward to getting her hair wrapped on our trips and we usually do it at the WL. On our most recent trip, I realized that we wouldn't be at the WL during the day due to our park schedule. She ended up getting her hair wrapped at the Animal Kingdom. There is also a hair wrap station at the MK near Pirates and one at MGM near Muppets.

Now that I'm home, I can help with a pic!

You are right, there is now a 'bunkbed' room rate starting for 2007. I put in dates for 2007 and had choices specifically with bunkbeds. Why it isn't showing on the website for 2008, I don't know. :confused3 Try calling instead to see if a 'real' person can help you. It is about $25 more (pre-tax) a day for a bunkbed room.

As for a pic- here you go. WL rooms are smaller than the CR rooms but with a set of bunks, you get a little more floor space between the beds than you would with two queens in a WL room.

Hope that helps! Happy planning!!!

...great pics...thanks for sharing.....wow, it's been TOO LONG since we've been 'home'......the room seems so different.....

...git back to the AKL thread young lady..... :furious: [.... :teeth: ....]

...the woods-view rooms offer just that - a lovely, quiet view of the woods and the otter pond.....the courtyard view will give you a view of the lake, especially if you are on a higher floor and further out on the 'arms' of the building....

Hey Kimmar... let the nice lady visit!!! Just because you defected to the OTHER Lodge doesn't mean somebody else can defect from THAT Lodge to here... :)

As to the 'lovely, quiet view of the woods and otter pond' that Kimmar mentions...how about another photo...

Although don't get too excited about the 'otter pond'. It is showing in the photo but is totally algae covered. Can't say I saw any otters :confused3 ...ducks...but no otters.

One year our 'woods view' did have a roof from below before seeing the woods but it didn't look out over any asphalt or service area so I guess it truly was a 'woods view'.

Campinggal and Kimmar thank you for the responses it give me somthing to think about although I think I would lean more towards woods view just to save a few extra bucks.

Of course I am still very torn on which Lodge to stay at and DFi is questioning why I would want to stay anywhere but "our Lodge."

Also has anyone stayed in the Honeymoon Suite? I am understanding what i am reading correctly and that is does not have a balcony? Do you think it is worth the extra money? You get a jacuzzi tub and king size bed though right?

And one more question...how cold do the boats get between WL and MK? Now it will be Oct so hopefully it will be some nice warm weather but just in case and knowing my luck it will be cold. Thanks again!

Sorry I ask so many questions but this is a very important decision.

I can't answer for the honeymoon suite but as for the boats to and from MK, you don't have to worry about it being too cold. The boat to MK is enclosed and heated--air conditioning in the summer months. Good luck with your choice!

Do they still have the refillable mugs at WL? If so, what is the cost? Thanks!

Yes, I am sure they do. All the resorts have the refillable mugs and I believe the price is still 11.99. We'll be there in a couple days, for a couple days! Our stay is so short, it probably isn't economically practical to buy mugs, but we will buy one, just because I want it as a souvenir. I am taking a mug from Disney's Grand Californian so I can have a second big mug for the in-room coffee I plan to make. I'm taking a small container of freshly ground French Roast, since I have heard that Disney coffee is abysmal :rotfl:

Hi..everyone. I am new to the site and I am just amzed at all the great information you can find on here. What would we do without the internet?
We are planning a trip in June 07 and debating on staying at the AK or WL. We will be staying for 8 nights. Has anyone split between two resorts before? Is it more of a hassle than worth it? I am thinking the WL would be better for my DS (5). Since it would be our first time there I was hoping you could fill me in on any "must see or do" at WL. Also, what views would you suggest? Is the Old Faithful worth the extra $100/ngt?
Sorry for all the questions and I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks Again!
