The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY! Part 2

Even if it is for 2007! After much input from DH, we decided to split our stay between BC and WL. He feels WL is too similar to the camp that we go to in Maine each summer to want to stay there for 9 nights. But he agreed that after 5 days at BC at Thanksgiving, WL would be a great place to wind down before driving 1200+ miles home. (How BC isn't too much like home when we live an hour from Cape Cod and only a few miles from RI's beautiful beaches is beyond me.)

I have paid my deposit on my Room Only (Woods View room-- with lots of great advice to make my choice) for November 24 to November 28, 2007. I can't wait to see what you all have so beautifully written about and posted pictures of!

Thanks for all the great posts here!

Its 10:45pm 7/20/06 and the price has gone up, well actually only the dryers, its 2.00$ a load now also, also soap and 2 dryer sheets will cost you a 1:50$.
It cost us 7:50$ to do 1 load of laundery because the dryers dont work all that great so we spent 4.00$ on a load for the dryer.

I definitely have my own laundry detergent packed as well as dryer sheets. I agree about the dryers..they don't get dry in one cycle. I'm trying to pack as much as I can so I don't spend $30 like I did last year in the laundry room. I'm going to try and just dry underwear/socks. Other things I'll try to hang up in the bathroom, as at home I rarely put anything but underwear, socks and towels/washcloths in the dryer anyway.

 May I just say that it's SO nice to see others planning for fall of 2007 too! We are planning for September 2007 this time. Been there in April, May, October(2X), November (2X), and December, so this time it was either going to be June or Sept. DH does not want to go in June, but since DS is graduating from HS in June, and it's his graduation trip (yep, he is a Dis Kid!), we figured we could only go in June since he'll be college bound. But as it turns out, he may be able to start classes later in the fall, or December, we aren't sure yet. But the planning has begun, and since there will be 8 or 11 of us going again this time, we are now trying to decide between AKL and WL, both LOVED by us all. Tough decisions :p I know....... So anywhooooo, I am just glad to see that I'm not the only one planning way in advance again! See Ya There!

...you KNOW darn well tht you wanna do a split stay.... :rolleyes1

I don't know Kim...........we did that last time, and everybody was so screwed up with packing and moving, and we felt like we wasted a day, even though the check out at AKL went smoothly, the checkin at WL was an experience I don't soon want to repeat. So I just don't know if the gang would go for that again, ya know what I mean???

Hi Pooch - That sounds great. My son is not yet girl crazy (I think), but he is video game-crazy and also a good kid. I'd love for him to have a friend and some incentive to get out of the game room and into the pool.

Are you doing the free dining? I have a feeling my DS will use up all of our CS credits on pizza and burgers! I sure hope Roarin Forks has pizza!

We'll have to figure out a way to get in touch with one another. I guess we can PM our "real" identities to one another and then call each others rooms when we get there? Maybe the boys can e-mail or IM each other before the trip?

Please feel free to PM me & I'll give you my e-mail address. And Nick can give your son contact info!! He loves video games too!!

Loveamouse; Sorry it is 2006 as seen in my post below Signature. Would have been nice.

Did someone mention laundry???

there was a post on the resort thread about the joys of doing laundry in disney - about getting an adult beverage, and some alone time, while a dh watched the kids!! The thread got kicked off the resort boards, but its been moved to the Community Board...

Also, I love the connections the dis helps create - last year I trusted dd with a dis family to go swimming, dd enjoyed that, this year were going to try the Cub Den at WL - I'm hoping there will be other 9yr old girls in the Den.. and there will be things in the Den to "hook" her!!

we are also packing detergent and dryer sheets

Quick question - How do you pack detergent? You pack powder - obviously and what do you put it in? I was thinking ziplock bags or a Tupperware container.

Lucky-
I pack the amount I need for a load in a ziplock bag then put all the little bags into a larger ziplock bag, don't forget the dryer sheets too!. I actually use liquid detergent, with the tiny amount you need anymore it is not a problem to pack it in the bags...I have not had one leak on me...

In certain areas they sell "packets of detergent". I don't remember the actual name of it but the detergent (enough for one load) is in little mesh squares. You throw one little packet in the washing machine and then the mesh square acts as a dryer sheet later. I always pick some up when I can find them but they are hard to find. If you can't find that maybe just a large plastic bottle ,I have an old one from some detergent that came in plastic bottle with a handle that I just refill. :laundy:

I've just been to the 1st page of this thread and there's not really any information on the CL...other than it's on the 7th floor and views vary. Can someone (Beckie? ;) ) update that page with more detailed information like....check-in, Old Faithful Club hours with a brief description of possible food items and general info about what concierge has to offer? It's so time consuming :hourglass looking for individual threads about that one bit of information you remember seeing somewhere. I've tried the Search field and am CONSTANTLY getting an error page. My searches produce results only about 40% percent of the time. If there's somewhere here that has all this information in one spot PLEASE post a link. I would be grateful.

Mny brands sell detergent in individually wrapped bricks that you break up and toss in the wash. I buy Tide versions of these and it's easy to transport them.
