Has anyone had a speciality cake or desserts deliveried to their rooms at the WL?

I'm trying to think of something special to do on my Girls Trip.

I have never done it..but did inquire about doing it..and I know it can be done :)

Yes, ::yes:: the Mousekeepers that work in the evening are the ones that will do the turn-down in your room. So a smaller tip put out around 4:30pm would cover this service. On our last trip they arrived around 5:00pm to do the turn-down.

Beckie

Thats what I thought
thanks Beckie
i am getting my dollars next week and I am planning that in

I had chocolate covered strawberries delivered from my DH for my b-day (pic in my trip report, link below). They were only 22.00 and they were tuxedo style and SOOOOO good!!!!!! He just inquired at the front desk 2 days before he wanted them delivered and they came to the room on my b-day at the time he had told them.

I hope its ok to bring this up again - I know Magic posted the hours and ages, and to call wdwdine (or you can call the 800# and eventually push 3 to get to dining) for reservations TO Wilderness Lodge Cub Den, babysitting type place - but...

I think what we were curious to know if any of the readers to the thread had used the service will older children (ages 9 - 12 girls vs boys) I know Disney's areas are great with theming, having video games, and providing the kid friendly food - but sometimes our older ones, seem a bit "too old" for the activities...

would this question be better posed outside the thread?

again, I appreciate all the valuable insights so many are so willing to post...

Its probably like asking "will I like WCC" its just so subjective, that we have to take the "wait and see for ourselves"... (and I do have reservations, and I know we'll check it out a day in advance... I'm just one of 'those' parents!!)

i havent used the cubs den
my sons are 7 and 2
i bet if you call the resort you can get someone who can help

RE Laundry containers - for powders ziplocks do work - but for liquids I went to WalMart or Target and bought a small container that is meant to hold liquids, like shampoos, and I always put my Tide liquid in that - it has a screw top, and then a pull top that can be used to 'squirt' the Tide around the "ring around the collar"... easier said than explained... its a small thing you pull up or push down, it has a very tight seal, and maybe only holds 6 or 8 ounces.. easily stores in the luggage, but I also double bag it -

and I also bought a small collapsable hamper at Walmart, around $10 I believe (maybe less, not more - its the very small one) It holds our dirty clothes, and then take it to the laundry, then bring up the clean, and it packs flat in the suitcase!!

its with the ironing board stuff...Linens and Bed Beth Beyond have the taller version, and is more expensive than the WalMart one...

i got a cheap collapsable hamper at IKEA qicked cheap i sue them in the kids room and bathroom for laundry around here i am taking one with me in August

Always feel free to ask anything...like you said everyones experience is subjective. My DSis has 4 boys last year they were 5, 9, 10 & 12 the two younger boys didn't want to go to EPCOT for dinner so we called the Cubs Den and they stayed there for a few hours.

We worried they wouldn't like it but...they both loved staying there and had a great time. They have each asked several times to go back. The older 12 year old would never stay there, he was way to independent and thinks he's grown. The 10 year old said he wishes he had stayed with his brothers after they told him what a good time they had.

They have all visited the Cubs Den to participate in the afternoon activities provided free. It maybe a good gauge to see if they would enjoy spending time there.

Hope this helps. Here is a photo of the Tuxedo Strawberries I had delivered to the room for our Anniversary. I paid $2.50 each (there were 8) plus delivery charge.

We may add a day to our trip and since we really don't know what our plans will be that day, would it be possible to have dinner at WCC? I don't really want to set up reservation since I don't know where we'll be. I know we'd be arriving late afternoon/evening. I know if we are tired we want to stay at WL and have dinner there. If we are up for it, we want to go to MK and have dinner there.
Thanks

if you wanna eat at wwc i would call and make an adr and if you arent gonna make it cancel
they are very busy

To be on the safe side, would they let me make two ADRs at around the same dinner time for WCC and at a place at MK? I would cancel the one we decided not to go to the day we arrive (once I know what we are doing)? Or is that just a bad thing to do in general? Thanks

I just wanted to say Hi! We are checking in on the 14th for 6 nights Standard view. I don't care what my view out the balcony is, I just want to see the Lobby every morning. We also will have Alien Green Mickey Heads on our bags. If you see them, say Hi. Would love to meet some fellow DISers. My kids would get a kick out seeing Mommy know people in WDW.

Hi!! We won't be checking in til the 17th and we're staying until the 24th. I have a DS5 who'd love some pool mates!! Perhaps we'll run into each other - it would be neat to meet another DISer.
