Hey guys... I just called this afternoon - was trying to get something at WL for December (any date). They didn't have any airline-employee rooms left at WL and the only AAA they could find was Old Faithful club - which we really didn't want to do.


(We were just looking for 1 night to check out the decor). They did have some standard rooms at $205.

We just got back, WL is amazing!
We went to Boardwalk, Contemporary prior .. WL was so much better than Boardwalk, but was on par with Contemporary (the Contemporary was amazing too) .. the CMs were also amazing at WL, made me feel more 'at home' which is why I'll definitely be returning! We were upgraded to Courtyard view, and it was ready by 12pm.

My family (DD3, DD4, DW) and parents just got back from a week at Disney and we stayed at the WL. All of us loved it. In fact, we actually just got back a few weeks ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to write something because every time I thought about my trip, I got choked up, and just couldn't get on the message board and read about everyone planning their next trip.

I'll post a overview of the good/great things I can pass on later, but for now, I just want to thank everyone here for helping me plan a trip that we're remember forever

Disney is truely a magical place. I've been on many trips to many places, and although I usually want to go back to those places too, I've never gotten choked up about it. My girls truely believed they saw Cinderella, and ate at her castle. What other place in the world can give you those memories?

Hello WL vets! I'm hoping to call to upgrade from courtyard to Old Faithful Club this weekend....I'm so excited, I can't stand it!! Question, since we cannot guarantee a specific view on the 7th floor, if we were not happy, could we ask to be switched to the first available room that opens up w/the view that we want?

I know it's early to contact IPO, but I want to...I think this will be so much fun!! I'll try to be patient for a bit...I actually want to see what happens and when they contact me.

We are coming to WDW for our first family trip (me, DH, DS and DD both 8) and staying at WL from 11/25 - 12/2 . So, excited! We chose the WL for may of reasons, one of which is proximity to MK. I read at the beginning of this thread that there is no direct bus to MK due to construction through December 20? Just wondering if anyone has an update on the construction - any hope it will be completed sooner? I don't mind taking the boat - in fact I think it would be fun . Just worried about getting to MK by boat for rope drop and for an 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace.

the stream in the lobby at WL was off during the morning hours as they were working on it, but it was working later in the evening when we returned. i think i even got a few photos of it.

We're here at the lodge now. The stream in the lobby is running. Right now the scaffolding is by Artist Pointe and also outside one section of the lobby. I will try and take pictures later. Since I have stayed here before, I am not sure if this was always open, but could you walk from the lobby along side the stream outside? Right now that is all blocked off.

The Lodge is still beautiful.

We have a standard room and can see the castle and space mountain through the trees.

Our room is nice. It is non-smoking, and when you walk in, you can smell smoke. Especially by the bathroom. So I am not sure if somone smoked in here before we got here, or if someone is smoking in the rooms below and it is drifting up here through the vents. Thankfully the smell hasn't taken up the whole room, so we're going to stay here and enjoy our view.

DD and I just returned from the WL last week. Although there isn't a direct bus from WL to MK due to the MK bus stop construction (which looked pretty torn up when we passed by last week), there is a bus that will take you from the WL to the TTC where you can catch the monorail to the MK. The TTC is only a 5 min bus ride (barely) so it was pretty quick.

We had an 8:05 at CP during our stay (yummy!!) and got the TTC bus at 7:15 and arrived at the MK by 7:45. Plenty of time to get to CP. They had already started letting people into the park for their ADRs- sometimes we have had to wait until just 8:00. (Note that we still had to wait at CP until 8 before they were checking us in so we didn't get to start dining earlier than our ADR as I had originally hoped).

The other option is to catch an early boat to the Contemporary Resort- I think they start running at 7:00 am- and then walk the path from the CR to MK- about 10 min walk.

It looks like some exterior maintanence work is going on. I just returned this afternoon from my first stay there and I thought that the lodge was awesome! Yes there was some scaffolding up on the exterior of the building but it really didn't bother me. As for the transportation, the only change is that currently the bus to the MK goes to the ticket & transportation center due to some maintenance at the MK. However, the boat is still running between the MK/Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness. I used the boat for all of my trips to the MK.

What a wonderful hubby!! The Lodge will be a spectacular place to celebrate. The lobby should be totally decorated- big tree and all- during your visit. It really does look very festive.

When DD and I were at the WL last week- they were working on the inside spring but they finished the work by the time we had left so the lobby looked construction free. Here are a few pics for you to get you excited...

They have been working on the outside of the buiding- painting and such so for most of our stay, there was scaffolding outside the main courtyard. My understanding is that they are slowly moving around the outside and could be finished by early December. I found that it really didn't detract from our visit. Sure, it would have been nice to have a 'scaffold free' shot, but the Lodge is just so much more than that outside view that I quickly forgot.

Here is a pic of the pool area and if you look closely at the building, you can see the scaffolding- but they did do a nice job to get it to blend if it had to be there...

As to transportation- we found it to be wonderful as always. We didn't way any more than 10 minutes for a bus or boat. The only slight change in the transportation was that there use to be a bus to the Mk (you can still take the boat) but due to construction at the MK bus station, the WL bus now goes to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC) where you can catch the monorail to the MK or Epcot if you want to travel that way- or have an early breakfast at the MK when the boat isn't running yet.

Hi, hoping someone could help me. Is a courtyard view at WL ,only considered the inner courtyard, or is the Villas pool considered in that also. I have read the Villas pool is considered courtyard and I've also read that is considered woods view. Anyone know for sure?

I just answered your question on the new thread you posted, but will also answer here if others need to know.

Both answers are correct there are both Courtyard Views and Wood Views that face the Villas. The Courtyard Views that are on the south side of the south wing are futher down toward the end of the wing so your view is overlooking the Hidden Springs Pool. (the quiet pool)

If you have booked Courtyard View and want to overlook the main Silver Creek Springs Pool, just have Inner-Courtyard View added to your room request.
