I agree completely just can't get that tag fairy too assist, but you could add the WL Vet to your siggie ;) Just stop by more often. Good luck with getting the extra day.

Beckie

OK - I'll come by more often! I actually posted a bit more in the first few WL threads ... parts 1,2, and 3...

I saw in the post right above the one you posted to me - that you were in room 7056 - we were in that room about two years ago - great view - but you must have had some zoom on your camera - my photos never look that good! We request north side each time too! Nothing like having my boy in his pjs and watching the fireworks from our balcony with milk and cookies from the lounge... then putting the boy to bed and running out to the lounge to grab a grown-up hot chocolate (with kaluha in it!) ahhhhhhh

Tracy

See you aren't even alone anymore, you all ready have two other DIS'ers that will be at the Lodge the same time you will be. :thumbsup2

Lisa

Yes ::yes:: Marcel's camera really did a great job, that's why I told everyone about the Zoom. My nephews hate the noise from the fireworks so the view from the Lodge is great for them. Oh and I added your name to our list for next year so Tracy wouldn't feel so lonely. :rotfl2:

Is there a map of connecting rooms, or failing that, a list of connecting or non-connecting rooms? We'd prefer a non-connecting room, but before I request it, I'd like to figure out how it fits in with my other room requests.

Is there such a map? I tried Ronald Duck's map, but couldn't see that it indicated connecting rooms.

No we don't have that information sorry. I don't like a connecting door when we have booked one room. I just wait until check-in and make my request then. There aren't that many connecting rooms so they are usually all ready taken.

Beckie -
I'm not going next year - I just booked for next MONTH! I'm not sure whether I'll miss the anticipation - or if I'm happy I don't have to wait so long!

Hello all,

Well, we just got home yesterday from our first stay at the WL....

We had a WONDERFUL time. The lodge was beautiful, we had great service, pretty low crowds (for most of the week), and an overall awesome trip!

In fact, it was so great that we booked our next WL trip by 9:20 this morning!! :rotfl: Yay! A year of vacation planning for me! :cheer2:

So anyway, I called this morning to book 9 nights in Nov/Dec '07 and was very surprised to hear that there are no woods view rooms available, and only courtyard bunkbed rooms available. Any ideas why they are so booked already? Would Disney be holding blocks of rooms for any reason?? The CM suggested we book the courtyard room then just try to call back periodically to change the ressie to the room we want (so I did of course! :thumbsup2 )

Our dates are 11/30-12/9 - a time that I thought would be "slow". What do you all think? Will this be a slower time? Do you think more rooms will open up as we get closer? If we didn't go at that time of year, do you think that mid-late January would be our next best option of a slow time of year?

Last question - when do discount codes/offers usually start showing up....6 months out? Sooner?

Sorry for all of the questions and rambling. I am exhausted, yet excited about the idea of another WL adventure.

Anyone??? :confused3 Any thoughts? :confused3

Just wanted to let you know we will also be staying at the Wilderness Lodge for our first time in December. We will be there Dec. 13-19 2006

We are coming in late the day before our week at WL so I was going to book a night at a value just to save a couple bucks, since we will just sleep there. Any advice as to any of them or are they all the same? (clean, noisy)

What is:
Standard Room - Old Faithful Club at WL?
Or did Disney finally type something more appropriate into the computer for "concierge-JD"?

You will love it, especially at that time of year as I hear it's beautifully decorated for the holidays! We were there Aug/Sep 2005. Prior to that vacation, my DH said it would be a long time before another visit, but by the end of our stay, he said sooner.

Look for Stan...he's just wonderful! And try to take the Lodge tour to learn more about WL.

Lisa

Oh I'm sorry I got your dates and ekball's dates mixed up... :confused3 But you'll probably be back next year anyway. :rotfl2:

I remember a few months ago we went through the same problem, when others tried to book rooms in January not all room options were available. It seemed that the computers aren't releasing all the rooms or something. :confused3 I also am wondering if the hotel travel companys (Expedia, Priceline ect.) might be booking up the less expensive rooms. :confused3 It's all a mystery.

With Disneys marketing MNSSHP MVMCP I'm not sure any time is going to be slow, but in the pass the dates you have chosen have been historically slower than other times.

Hi Beckie,
Thanks for the info. I'm kind of wondering if we should push our vacation a little farther out....late Jan./early Feb. Maybe it would be a little slower then (of course then we have the potential of cooler weather). Any idea when they might release rooms for that time?

We often drive down the afternoon before our reservation start, being DVC Members points for Saturday nights are triple for just the one night. We usually stay over at Pop Century it's fun, clean, new and has a nice food court. Then early the next morning I just drive over to Wilderness Lodge and check-in. The family usually heads over to one of the parks and I meet up with them.

It's true that January/February would be slower but it is also the coldest weather we have here in Florida. I think the dates you have scheduled are the best, you will be at Disney with all the Holiday festivities and decorations. Keep your dates and just wait for the rooms to be released.

I just went on the Disney Website and they have a standard view, concierge and Courtyard with bunk beds available for your dates, just no woods view... :confused3 I would select the standard view before Courtyard Bunk Bed room, but that's just me.
